By far the worse experience I have ever encountered professionally! To start, I received a call from Sparks regarding the assignment. There was a brief telephone interview by 2 different reps at 2 different times. It seemed as if they were fighting over who would get credit for my placement. Once the interview was finalized a rep called me again and told me that technically I could not be hired until I came in and had a face to face with them which was fine by me. Then, I was told by the rep that placed me that, that would not be needed. She went on to tell me a little about the position saying that "this is a temp to perm position at a credit union that services primarily union members and that they would be looking for a collection manager". What she failed to tell me was how hostile of work environment it was!! The management and permanent staff have been at each others throats for years. Resulting in diminished benefits and numerous internal issues making this struggling credit union a nightmare to be apart of in any aspect. After defusing a possible violent situation along with numerous situations where I was disrespected by the UNION represented staff I reached out to Sparks to let them know of the situation and that I was not comfortable. I received no response after several messages and emails requesting a new assignment. They showed no compassion which led me to believe that they were fully aware of the working environment and had no intentions of honoring my request. I had numerous issues regarding payroll reporting-information would be incorrect on my pay stubs which I had to bring to their attention after I just happen to notice that there was no increase to my ytd totals. Vacation and Holiday Pay reflected when there was none contractually. They even messed up my direct deposit by incorrectly entering account/routing information which they tried to say was my fault..thank GOD for fax confirmation!! They told me that the deposit would come back immediately and that they would re-submit which was not true. It would take at least take up to 6 weeks to straighten it out..they must have forgot that they placed me at a financial institution..smh. So, that had no choice but to generate a paper check which they had to bring to my job. Unfortunately, I had issues cashing the check because there were no totals or lack of information preventing the check to be cashed. I asked the teller if I could go print out my pay stub would that allow me to cash it and she said it would. After almost 2 years of working for SPARKS at THE AFL-CIO EMPLOYEES FEDERAL CREDIT UNION I was informed that my services would be no longer needed. Do not and I repeat do not trust Sparks..they are the absolute worse in the business!

I would definitely recommend Sparks to anyone that is searching for a temp-to-perm position, or a short term assignment in between Spring/Summer break. They are a very friendly, genuine, and caring staff that looked out for me every step of the way. They just didn’t blindly send me out into the “temping world” without having my best interest at heart as well. They take the time to visit clients to research their needs, and in turn place you on an assignment that matches your experience and comfort as well. I’m in a position now where I was welcomed and have felt just as part of the staff as everyone else. I am respected as a person, and appreciated for my experience and the positive impact I bring. I look forward to going to work every day (despite the agony of the Metro system), and sincerely appreciate Kate R., and Taylor T. for making such a great decision to put me in the right place! Thank you Ladies, keep doing things the way you do! Its all good! Thank you Sparks!

The staff at this Washington, D.C. Location is such a great team. When I was unable to speak directly with my consultant they were sure to assist me with anything they could. I worked with Taylor, very closely by communicating everyday via phone for only 7 days. On the last Day I got a phone interview and a job offer. Taylor was sure to find out what I looked for in job and was very successful in finding a position that exceeded my expectations. Thanks so much for this opportunity and I look forward to continuing to do business with you. Please know that I will not hesitate to refer you to family and friends that are in need of employment.

Amanda and her team gave me the run around for almost 2 months. No references checked, EVER! No follow up calls. Everytime I called them; I got the same fake answer " we are checking your references" for 8 weeks they could not complete a task of calling 2 people that were expecting their call. What a joke of a team. I can fake working and still get paid? MVA and SPARKS. These people are here to make money and waste your time. Period. Capitalism at its finest. People at their worst.

We hired a temp from them, and they sent the WORST person. We needed someone to help us stuff envelopes and put together folders for clients in a certain order, and they were slow and didnt know the alphabet! DO NOT use their employees, it is a total waste of money.

Jen is so rude. They sent you some prove it exams to do online, which are useless and pointless. Jen was a mess ( sent me a wrong email and was rude on the phone ) unprofessional. Beacon hill staffing group is much better.
