We toured over 20 childcare programs in the DC, MD and VA area before deciding on GCCDC. From the moment we stepped through the doors it felt like home. The director and staff treat us like part of the family. The facility itself is inviting. My son didnt want to leave when he came for a visit. GCCDC provides a safe and nurturing environment for our son. Each day we go to work knowing hes well taken care of, well fed, and loved. They give him the appropriate amount of discipline when hes being a threenager and they do it with tons of care and concern. If ever I have questions they are always available with a listening ear and are very open to suggestions (though they run a well-oiled machine). Of course, you want to know will my child learn something in "daycare" or is this a learning environment? Initially, academics were not our priority because kids will soak up everything, however, we have found that GCCDC takes a developmentally appropriate approach. It is balanced with both formal lessons, play, and spiritual development. Ill say this my son is 3 and he is doing math, science, art, oh and he can READ. PS...this is our second time around. We have an older son who went here from ages 17months to 5. He left Greater and went to Independent School. He had to test in and was well ahead of his peers. I attributed most of this to the amazing start he got at Greater. So glad they decided to reopen just in time for our youngest to go. This is the place for your child!

When my daughter started the child care center I was very pleased and well assured that she was in good hands. After the new director Winnie Peterson came on board everything started to crumble. She has no love for the kids. My 6 years even mentioned that few times she will grab her on her shirt just to tell her not to do whatever she was doing. This lady is very mean and even bullies her teachers. The center is seated in a good environment and I strongly believe it will be a better place if Winnie is removed.

I absolutely loved this center. My child has gone on to Elementary, however they definitely prepared him for it. Thanks GCCDC.
