The summer camps they hold every summer is worth it. The staff provides a kid friendly environment and a fun one as well. On Tuesdays or Thursdays ( unless noted otherwise) they take the kids on a field trip to different places every week. I bet all kids come home raving about the trip. Some trips include Nixon Park, ice cream shops, mini golf etc. The best part of the trips is the kids get to spend time with their friends. On Wednesdays they take trips to Wisehaven swimming pool. However the kids are not aloud to go on the water slide and diving boards which I think are good safety precautions. They give you a permission slip slip at the beginning of the summer marking how deep you want them to go for example 4 ft, 5ft etc. Then Mondays and Fridays are rest days the kids go outside on to the bg field and play group activities like capture the flag, red rover, shark attack, tag, volleyball, soccer, basketball and way more. They also have playgrounds for young one and older ones. That include a castle, monkey bars, slide, swings, for all heights, and a black top, They also have club rotations such as field day, cooking, video games, scrapbooking and more. During the summer they hold small carnivals, BBQs etc which the kids stay afterwards. I would recommend this summer camp to anyone I hear it is so much fun!

We had our daughter in this daycare from 3 1/2 months til 11 months. We chose this provider as they were close to work and to her pediatrician. BUT in an 8 week period we recd 4 phone calls to pick her up, which means we couldnt take her back the next day either. I dont understand how a director can call a parent and classify "YUCKY" diapers as a reason but they did. They also called another time saying she was unsanitary (because they provide the diapers, I felt they were putting smaller diapers on her). I had the final straw when they called me to pick her up for a few (meaning about 8 TOTAL) bug bites on her feet. I explained that we had been at a baseball game but I still had to take her to the doctor to get a note. I also had to take her for what they said was pink eye and it also turned out that it was not. They dont seem to work well with infants and their daily needs or changes. They also attempt to be doctors but arent. Please note that we visited this center every other day while our daughter was there and have seen the employees get disgusted with baby puke. SO BEWARE cause they will call you for every little thing. If anything we were fortunate enough to be as close as we were. AND we did switch her child care.

I saw this previous post and felt that I needed to write a post of my own since our daughter is currently in the infant room. Im not sure what had been happening back in 2007 when it was written, but what I have experienced couldnt be further than that. The care my daughter has received has been great, the ladies in the infant room are phenomenal. I have always felt that my daughter gets the attention she needs, and has developed very well because of the treatment and attention given to her in the infant room at Small Steps. In response to the other post, there have been a couple of times our child was sent home but it turned out to be legitimate health concerns which was confirmed by the doctors, so I was grateful for that. I live across town and Small Steps was supposed to be a brief solution until we found a closer, more convenient daycare. Weve been so happy with them that we havent even bothered to find another daycare. Dealing with the extra commute is worth knowing your child is in a safe, clean environment where she is receiving the care she needs. I would recommend Small Steps to anyone.

We are all very happy with this daycare center. My son loves going here and even wants to get there early so he can play and interact with the other children. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The employees greet people every morning with a smile on their face and my son tells me how nice the teachers are. They also do not close or delay their hours due to inclement weather unless it is absolutely necessary. Their fees are comparable and they do charge a little extra when there is no school but it is well worth it to me knowing that my child is in great hands.

Im a former employee and my child also attended the center. The owners care about their staff and the children in there care. I couldnt recommend a better childcare center.
