The new female barber is great. Ive been looking for my next barber since moving to the DC area a year ago with no luck. This place is closest to me and I ended up going a few times although I was consistently disappointed. I either share or believe the negative reviews below for my first few visits, it was bad. I only kept going back to try out all 3 guys who worked there. Recently I noticed a woman working so I gave it just one more shot. She was great. Her name eludes me but shes the only woman working there. She took her time, cut my hair entirely with a comb and scissors (which I greatly prefer), shaved my outline with a straight razer and gave me a sharp haircut without lots of random strays on the sides and back like many people do. Even if youve been burned by this place many times before, if you see shes in then give her a shot. I give the barbershop without her 1 star but I give her 5 stars. If shes not in, keep on walking...

Without a doubt the worst haircut Ive ever had. The 80 year old man stopped several times to walk to the side room. The mirrors showed me what he was doing - taking off and putting on his pants again. Until the slightly younger owner noticed and told him to stop. Mightve been senile. The haircut itself was by any standard horrendous. I told him "regular short mens cut", and he the result was long and lobsided. For the first time in my life I disapproved of the mirror check, and so he tried again. Disapproved again. One more time and then before he could whip out the mirror, his boss saw what he had done to my hair, stepped in, and told him to stand back while he did his best to fix my hair. Whole ideal was more than an hour. Oh and they dont take credit cards.

I have used their services several times now and have had enough. Its 2 old guys and a middle aged owner and I always get one of the old guys that either cant hear or cant remember your instructions. I ask for a regular mens short, layered haircut with a tapered back and dont shorten the sideburns. If I relax and dont pay attention I get the burns whacked off and the back left long. When you ask for more off the back they take off very little and say "hows that". You say more they do the same. Wow! I think Its intentional so you will be back sooner. Owner never offers to take me even when he is not busy. Im don with them!

I think I found my barber shop. They do it all. Shave, massage, shaving of the back of your neck. Cheap too. $13 for a cut. I used to live in Cleveland Park and I would go to Super Cuts and it cost me $18 for far less of an experienced barber/beautician.
