My daughter attended RRDC for nearly 2 years starting in the Toddler room and moving up to the Preschool room. Only decided to leave after all part-time options eliminated mid school year and feeling that my child got everything she could get out of this daycare. Generally speaking, things have improved in some areas from year 1 to year 2. Beyond the daycares sales pitch, this hopefully gives you an honest assessment of this daycare. Pros: - Music/Cultural Program (Music Director top notch). If you think this is what your child needs, this alone should cause you to consider this daycare. - Primary teachers in preschool room are very good Cons: - Single preschool room for all children 2.9 years and up. Not ideal for older children, only younger children need naps, etc. Other schools have multiple preschool rooms for different age ranges, etc. With ratio of 1:10/2:20 here, younger children probably get more of the teachers time. - Music-focused curriculum leaves little room for other focus areas like science, for example - Lack of enrollment options, no part-time. Only full-day available (7:30 am to 6:00 pm). Day way too long for my child. - Constant policy changes always favorable to the school including yearly tuition increases every year. Need to carefully keep track of changes. - Teacher turnover/lack of consistency in Toddler room. No clear idea who the lead teacher was. - Constant Director turnover first year with some consistency second year - Questionable business practices (all part-time options eliminated mid-school year, overcharged tuition for couple of months) - Lack of adherence to own policies in handbook (declaring snow days when school should be open) - Very concerning incidents reported to EEC early first year, not aware of anything second year - Short on parking, especially in the winter (only 4 spaces in front, less in winter). Drop off/pick up could be difficult. Parking so much of a problem that former director would on most days inconsiderately take up one of the spaces all day in front of the school feeding the meter every 2 hours. - Feedback loop quite weak. Parents Council and meetings with all parents together eliminated by owner after much negative feedback first year.

DONT BE FOOLED BY THIS PLACE! This is a horrible daycare provider. My husband and I looked to enrolling our children at the center. We are new to Cambridge and were hoping for a program to bring our child to wherein they would feel welcomed and we would feel secure. Our hopes and desires were immediately crushed. I research early childcare education through the department of education in Massachusetts. Their regulations involves ratios and I believe that following regulations is vital. I was walking with my child and I observed in the toddler room window a child standing on top of a table and 6 other children running around on 1 side of the room. I was shocked and mortified. I looked further into the classroom and there was no other children on the other half of the room. A curly haired teacher was off to the far corner near the sink. I was concerned due to the lack of supervision. I called the program and asked to speak with the director of the program and I was told that there was no director on site. I spoke with a formed liscensor of eec and they stated that the ratio for a teacher within a liscenend toddler room is 1:4. This teacher was out of ratio and a childs safety was in jeopardy. No director was on site and it was 11 am in the morning. I never looked back at that place again and I hope that this place gets shut down before more kids are put at risk.

I love RRDC! From the staff to the admin team, they are all warm, welcoming, progressive, and have fantastic communication all across the board. The teachers do a wonderful job at looking after the children and I love the fact they send daily and almost hourly updates to parents with pictures, videos, and messages throughout the day. The musical focus of the school and curriculum is so much fun. I feel this is a great place for children to learn, grow, develop, and most of all have fun!

My child attended until we moved out of state. Great people, so much diversity in the curriculum. I loved attending the International Nights with my whole family. My son come home singing so many songs while he was enrolled here. I loved the meals. Saved me so much hassle not having to pack lunch, snacks, or breakfast every day.

My child attended here and absolutely loved it. The music program is great, and my child would honestly sing a new song everyday on our way home. The events were also wonderful for parents, I only wish I could have attended more of them!

An incredible music program ran by the very best early ed. music educators in Massachusetts!
