I live right around the corner from Pep Boys. I would rather bring my car to a shop in Revere than bring it to Pep Boys. They are ALWAYS looking for things to be fixed...and trust me, its never the cheaper job. There was an older woman there that was WONDERFUL. She was open, honest, and very professional. Sadly, I think she is gone. Clearly their service has changed. Now they have a "stone cold" looking chubby guy who has the personality of a rock! Rather than go over the issues with your car, he basically shrugs his shoulder and says "good luck"! Once I post this up, the staff there will CLEARLY know me: I owned a 1998 Acura CL. My axle broke. I went out of my way to purchase all the parts(Purchesed NEW at Rock AUTO), to save time and money. They fixed it. A year later, the same axle broke. I went back again to fix it. A few months past, now my car was dying for no reason. After doing my Google searches, I determined the reason my car maybe dying is due to fuel pump being either clogged or replaced. After leaving my car with them for HALF the day, they call me back stating it was not that. They blamed it on my aftermarket air in taker for the problem. I told them to check again the fuel pump. They basically ignored me. I trusted they had "certified" technicians. (Mind you, one told me my engine was dead from overheating, and I blew a gasket. I did Google research and determined I needed to replace my radiator. WOW , the car worked all of a sudden...blown gasket my ASS. The same "certified" technician told me my car is too old and not worth the work to repair it!) While it was on the lift, they SUDDENLY noticed I need all my brakes done. WOW, they found something VERY expensive to fix. And my driver side Caliper was leaking. (Mind you , the Revere guys installed the caliper a year ago). Rather than argue- Got my brakes all repaired, air intaker replaced, and left caliper replaced. Spent almost $800. THE NEXT DAY, my car dies going to work!!!!! I FELT SO RIPPED OFF. I eventually sold the car to be salvaged. I was so disgusted on bringing my car there and getting ripped off. That $800 could have went to DIRECTLY to the initial problem. Most of my money went to a brake job, and caliper job, I did not need. I have a new vehicle. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO PEP BOYS TO EVEN BUY A SCREW DRIVER!!!!!!!

My Jeep just turned 23 years old. I bought it brand new with 12 miles on it. This particular Pep Boys and their amazing staff have helped me prolong the life of this vehicle that means so much to me. Steve is the service manager, John is the general manager with the help of these 2 gentlemen and their outstanding staff: Melissa, Sandra, Maximo, Brandon, Edwin and countless others my Jeep is not only still running and doing quite well but these people treat me like Im an extension of their work family. They care about my Jeep. So much so that please pay attention to these examples: There was an occasion I was in for some repairs. Because of the age of my Jeep some parts are hard to find these days. THEY ACTUALLY BUILT THE PIECE THAT WAS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR FROM OTHER PARTS THEY SOLD IN THEIR STORE. Now come on, who the heck does that? People that value their customers thats who! Another time my Jeep was leaking something and AAA had to tow me directly to this Pep Boys. I needed my Jeep back as soon as possible (something urgent for my work) Melissa rush ordered a part for me that she was even able to have delivered on a SUNDAY so they could start work very first thing that Monday morning. I had my Jeep back in no time thanks to her genuine customer caring attitude! These are only 2 of many examples of how they treat me here. I dont know about the other reviews pertaining to this particular Pep Boys. There must be some mistake. The people probably wrote their review under the wrong location or something. There is NO WAY the negative reviews can be accurate. When Im in there, aside from how they treat me, I see how they treat the other customers and they do everything they can to assist each individual situation. There was a stupid man screaming at Sandra one day. All she did in response was speak calmly and respectfully to explain what was happening with his car. He was waaaaaay out of line but she did not let it frazzle her. She took care of him as if he had never been rude and stupid to her. And in the end, he was so humiliated by his own behavior he apologized to her. As he definitely should have. I love it here! I really do.

I went at this location to change the rotor and the brakes (rear ones) of my car. When they were done, I took the car and it started making loud noises. I went inside, and the guys told me to wait. I waited for 1hr and the car was still not in the garage so thats one. Second, I went home because I couldnt wait anymore. The guys never gave me a call to tell me whats going on so I called them. They told me that I can come because it should be ready soon. When I went there, they told me that its not ready and I would have to purchase something. SO WHY DID YOU TELL ME TO COME THEN? You could have called me on the phone instead. I had to leave my car there because I had to go to work right away and I told them that Ill make a decision the next day when I come to pick my car up. The next day, I told them that I am taking the car out because I dont appreciate the service because my car is been there for 2 days straight! with nothing done on it. Then, they told me that if I drive it out, Ill lose the guarantee on my new rotors. 1) why would I lose it for? The first time you gave me the car and I drove away, you didnt tell me that. Why is that when I heard the noise after the first service, that you wanna tell me that Ill lose the guarantee if I drive the car away after checking whats wrong? What if I didnt come back after the first time of your service? 2) I went to another garage, and the mechanic guy told me that you did NOT put the hardware back in, the pin wasnt in, and a spring was missing behind the rotor (the thing that holds the rotor+tire) I told the guys that Im not gonna go back to you guys (pep boys) because if I drive back to you, you still are gonna give me bad services so NEVER AGAIN! If youre reading this, NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!! All they do is take your money and do nothing good on your car. Trust me.

The worst customer service ever. I brough my car in for a fuel filter replacement and I waited for three hours to find out that they coulnt replace it. The reason they gave me was that it was to rusted, "Sorry". (Even other customers in the waiting are were confuse about it. What the Pepboy guy "forgot" to tell me was during the proccess of replacing it one of their mechanics bent the fuel lines intakes to the fuel filter and it was leaking gas. While driving home the car was acting weird. It turned off at a stop light and wouldnt want to turn on. Finally, it did. So, I drove home and luckly did not burst into flames. The next day I went to Firestone full car service and sure enough they asked me if I try to change the fuel filter myself and I responded no the Pep boys guys did last night. The mechanic took me to go see what was done to the fuel filter and the lines. Sure, enough the fuel filter was bent out of place and missing a nut. I was so shock, and disappointted at Pep boys. The mechanic show me that the only way to bend the filter that way is because the Pepboys mechanic use a wrench and forcely try to torque the fittins out. Which looking at the filter it totally made sense. What type of bussiness treats customer that way. Thanks to the mechancis at Firestone my car is working properly now and at less money that Pep boys quoted me. (A lot less 60%) I will never take my car again or buying any parts at Pepboys and will let everybody know of this and to never go there.
