I had an absolutely horrific experience with The Silent Chef. I put in an order (with the owner) for a baby shower 3 weeks prior to my party. The day of the shower I called to double-check my pickup time, and the owner told me he didnt have my order. You can imagine the feeling of my stomach falling to my feet, as I had 40 people arriving at my house in mere hours. Complete panic. Now, I understand that mistakes happen. But rather than being extremely apologetic, admitting that he lost my order and offering to make it right, he was an absolute jerk to me. First he tried to blow it off and actually insinuate that it was somehow my fault, then he tried to pawn off "frozen chicken broccoli ziti" on me, then finally when I would not accept it; he then went to his kitchen and asked them to put in a rush order. All while flipping me attitude. I told him that I expected a discount and thats when he really seemed to lose it, he said that he "didnt understand why I was upset, because I was getting my food." I did not get a single discount, coupon, or apology from him in the end. I expect that from any company who cares about their customers, no matter how upset or rude back I was in that moment. I dont know about you, but the reason why I called a caterer for my party was so that I didnt have to worry about the food. I essentially am (over)paying them to take something off my plate. This experience ended up adding major stress to the day, rather than taking it away. That, combined with his unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service made this entire experience worth writing my first review ever, just to warn you NOT to order from The Silent Chef. There are plenty of other places that have their act together, will value your business and treat you like a customer.

Silent Chef is wonderful! Helped me with the food for my wifes surprise birthday party. Everyone said it was the best catered food they had ever had. I made sure they all knew where it came from. Have to say Silent Chef makes THE BEST CRABCAKES I have ever had, from any restaurant, bar none. Highly recomended!

I assisted a friend in planning a wedding that was in Duxbury, MA and they used Silent Chef for the caterer for the reception. The food and service provided by Silent Chef were excellent! Many guests commented that it was the best wedding reception food they ever had.

We attempted to work with this caterer on quote for a a potential menu for our wedding and it was not pleasant. The contact seemed very condescending and we decided to look elsewhere.
