I LOVE Crossfit 1727! I have been a member for 8 months and attend classes 5-6 times a week because Im constantly inspired by the wonderful coaches (Joe, Lindsay, Brian, Omar, and Katrina) and community. The coaches push you to give your all in every workout, but they also know you (and your limits!) personally and will never ask you to do something dangerous. Crossfit 1727 also has a great group of members who attend to get the most out of their workout, but who encourage you to do the same. The community is incredibly supportive and friendly; there isnt anything quite as motivating as getting that "good job" after a tough workout from someone who could press you and your 1 rep max at the same time. The first couple paragraphs of this review may be a little stereotypical, but this place is worth the praise. Before Crossfit 1727 I was a treadmill junkie and I hated the idea of working out in front of other people (what if someone saw me sweat?! Or I wasnt perfect at something?!) and I was mostly self-motivated so I never saw the need for a fitness class. A friend encouraged me to attend a free class, and after that first day I was hooked. Never has a workout so firmly kicked my ass and made me want to come back the next day. I had never touched a barbell in my life, but now I cant imagine a workout without one. Or without the other contraptions that are staples of the typical Crossfit 1727 experience (kettlebells, wall-balls, jumpropes, ab-mats - the list goes on.) Its empowering as a woman to lift heavy, and I love knowing that strength carries over into other parts of my life. That Im stronger and more capable than I was when spending 14+ hours a week on the treadmill. The true beauty of Crossfit 1727 is that it is a fitness class with an individual experience. Everyone is focused on their own workout so they arent judging you for the way you do yours - the coaches make sure your form is correct, and they encourage you to pick the weight and movements that are right for your body. Any part of the workout can be modified or scaled, and the coaches work with you to find what fits. The other members dont judge you for not lifting as much as you "should be", but they are there to cheer you on and congratulate you as you improve. It sounds cheesy, but I love this gym and these people. My only regret is that I didnt start sooner.

I never thought Id be doing CrossFit, but I needed something New and Exciting. As a former dancer, dance instructor and fitness guru, I was bored at my gym and just plateaued. I always heard about and had friends who did CrossFit but I was always hesitant, thought maybe it was too hard or Id get hurt....until I met Joe Shea, now, I know Joe and every once in awhile Id run into him and he would ask how my work outs were going etc. and he would talk about his gym. I have to admit I was curious. He would always invite me to try a class anytime. The day came, I ran into Joe yet again and at this point I was craving something new. He said, "So when you coming to take a class?" I said "alright, Ill try a class". Ive been CrossFitting ever since. CrossFit 1727 has made some major changes in my life. They broke it down for me, explained every movement and modify where necessary. Im being challenged, Im not bored, Im eating right and Ive seen major changes with my bodys physique. Its only been 5 months and Im stronger, have more energy and more focused on me and what is right for me and my 43 year old body. Its a team effort at CrossFit 1727, everyone helps everyone, we do other fitness activities outside of the gym and build a camaraderie with all the members. We work together and we have a great coach leading us on. Thanks Joe Shea and CrossFit 1727, cant wait to put on my bikini this summer....see ya at class tonight! Im telling you...TRY A CLASS! Any one can do it......PEACE! :)

I joined Crossfit1727 just a few months ago. In those few months, I have already experienced both a physical and mental transformation. I absolutely love it. Joe is a great coach. He isnt too intrusive, yet knows when to give tips and review certain movements with which I may be struggling. He will also push you farther than you think you are capable of going, and he wont let you give up. Neither will the other athletes. You will feel like part of a family and wake up every morning feeling excited about heading to the box (even if the workout scares the crap out of you.) You can scale the workouts to your own strength level, so no need to ever feel intimidated. If you are thinking about giving Crossfit a try, I highly suggest dropping into a class at Crossfit1727. The addiction is immediate. You will get stronger, and people will definitely notice those new shoulder muscles! If I could give this place more stars, I would!

I have been a member since March, 2016 and Crossfit1727 has literally changed my life. I was a skeptic at first - My girlfriend was into it, and brought me along. After meeting the coaches, watching a competition and attending my first few classes, I was hooked. I felt part of a community, and valued as someone who was worthy of being a member of the gym. I have not only lost weight and built muscle, but I learned proper technique and feel better than I ever have. I have played sports my entire life, and never have I felt as great as I do now as a result of going to Crossfit1727. The coaches, Joe and Brian, are amazing. They are so helpful and willing to break down every move so that I am comfortable and can focus on my form. I am so appreciative of all they have done to change my life for the better and strongly recommend coming to a class and checking it out for yourself!

I joined crossfit 1727 mid-late 2015 and glad I did. I was initially hesitant to join a cross fit gym due the highly competitive crossfit stigma. This gym isnt like that; it is perfect for all ages and levels. The workouts will always be as challenging as you make them. The coaches are attentive and encouraging and the members are friendly and supportive. Joe the owner and lead trainer is wicked nice, and reviews proper form prior to workouts. Hell alter workouts for individuals if needed (i.e knee injury, or how to properly scale for certain movements). If youre looking for a challenge, and improving yourself for the better I highly recommend this gym. Ive made a lot of great friends at 1727, but most importantly every month I go I feel healthier, stronger, trimmer, and more energetic than the month before.

In the last 7 or so years, I have moved around a lot, and therefore would switch my crossfit box to be close to where I was living. This past summer, I saw that this box had opened up in my town, and being that it was convenient and down the street, I made a stop to visit and check it out. I joined that SAME day! The owner, Joe, was quick to answer every question I threw at him and made me feel welcome immediately. He is very hands on and focuses on proper form and technique and pushes you steadily to improve and challenge yourself. I have had other experiences where the coaches at a box were more interested in chatting with one another than making sure members were doing things properly. I was thoroughly impressed and would recommend this box to everyone!
