As the owner of Starlight Dance Academy, I would like to take this opportunity to address some of the negative comments on Google since they arent all valid. As the owner, I strive to provide an affordable place for children to dance. I do not know of any business that hits it out of the park in their first year. Every business has their hiccups. A) With regards to Heather Catrons review - if you had a problem with the pictures, I wish you would have addressed it with me so that we could take the opportunity to attempt to fix the photos to your liking. Most photography companies have a 4 to 6 week turnaround time and these particular photos would have been back sooner had I not had to redo entire borders since the lab we intended to use was down (without informing me) and I had to scramble to find another lab with the capacity to process the orders on short notice. B) Caitlin Skierske did work for us very briefly in 2016. Her actions were that of trying to come in and take over the business and tell me everything I needed to change. For the record, I DO NOT DRINK at all, NOR have I EVER asked my employees to commit tax fraud. Each employee is told that they are being hired as a contract worker, will be issued a 1099, and are told their rate of pay right up front at the conclusion of the interview / job offer. If they do not agree, they simply need to decline the offer. As a humble studio owner, I am doing my very best to keep drama out of my Academy and some of those that start or stir up drama are asked to leave. I will not allow drama to bring Starlight Dance Academy down. We have been open for ONE year, going into year TWO, have learned many things that we are changing and have taken some older practices out and replaced them with new. We also have updated policies and procedures and are very excited about our second year. I dont think there is a business out there that is perfect, but again, we are striving to provide an affordable dance experience, a family atmosphere and a drama free place where families can feel at ease. We will do the best to address any concerns brought to us in person, without the bashing / hiding behind a keyboard on social media.

This place is a joke! It was not only a new studio but a very unorganized one at that. The owner always makes excuses we waited over 2 months for some pictures that look like absolute garbage. The background is white as can be can hardly see the costume my daughter is wearing. The owner is very unprofessional. They preach that they dont want drama yet they allow it and feed into it. I was talked to like crap by several of the staff members when asking questions. I guess you get what you pay for. I was thankful that my daughter had a wonderful fun loving teacher Jojo who as well as us will not be returning. Ill take it as a loss and a lesson learned.

My youngest daughter has been going to Starlight for over 6 months now and loves it. We have been welcomed from day one. It has been such a great experience, that my oldest daughter just HAD to take a ballet class this summer. We can only say wonderful things starting with the owners, teachers, and the affordable prices. I would recommend them (and have) to anyone who is interested in any of the many different classes that are offered.

I worked here briefly in early 2016, the owner is rude, drinks at work, and thinks its okay to ask their employees to commit tax fraud. Its too bad because the staff is great.
