Empire Lodge, our "Home Away From Home". Through Leelanau Vacation Rentals we have been renting a wonderful home in Empire since 2010. The staff and services of Leelanau Vacation Rentals are impeccable and very personable. We love the tranquility and simple life style that Empire offers. It is the perfect environment for a family vacation. The home is perfectly located and only a short walk or bike ride away from the beach and playground. The home is rustic and well equipped for our family of 7. The interior is simple and personable and the furnishings are durable and kid friendly. The backyard is deep and has a great firepit where many s mores have been grilled and gobbled up. Empire is located in the beautiful Leelanau peninsula and provides excellent hiking, biking and watersport opportunities for all competence levels. For avid road cyclists like us, the bike paths and road biking opportunities are amazing and as challenging as you want it to be. Our favorite bike ride is around Glen Lake with coffee at the Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor and back to Empire on the beautiful Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail. And by the way... The night skies are spectacular!! It is the perfect place to view the Milky Way in all its glory. Only a short car ride away are many more breathtaking biking and hiking opportunities. The scenery is breathtaking. We will be back!

We stayed in the White Pines cottage in Glen Arbor which we rented through Leelanau Vacation Rentals (LVR). They exceeded our expectations. Booking the property was a breeze. They were very professional and communicated throughout the process. Upon our arrival in Glen Arbor, we stopped by their offices to pick up the keys and was greeted very warmly. We arrived at White Pines and was pleasantly surprised to find the place had been extremely well cleaned prior to our arrival. That is something so important to me because I am beyond picky when it comes to cleanliness. The place was beautifully furnished, well equipped, and comfortable. As nothing went wrong during our visit, we had no need to contact LVR. However, I am confident if we had, they would have responded quickly. We will definitely be renting from them again the next time we plan to visit Glen Arbor.

We have rented properties twice through this management company, and we have been disappointed, their rules and attitudes are not customer friendly. They seem to be all about collect large rents, protecting the owners and the neighbors. Reporting problems they get defensive and dont address. We have rented in many other Michigan cities, Florida Utah and Colorado. we are an adventure group of older people that enjoy outdoor sports and respect others. If you are going to charge high rates, then everything needs to be in good condition checked out and working. Weve had leaking refrigerators, dishwasher and toilets not working, poor beds, low end small gas grills for 4-6 people, in a house that sleeps 14.

The location was great, however the condo we rented at The Homestead (Tall Timber B-2) wasnt so great. There was moldy old caulking in the shower, the furniture was cheap and seemed ready to break at any moment, the frying pans were all scrapped up and unusable, the bed mattress was uncomfortable, and the closet and cabinets were disorganized. It just seems the condo owner put the minimal amount of money and effort into the unit and cares less about maintaining it. I wonder if the other rentals that LVR offers are in this kind of shape. Well, I dont plan on finding out.

Nice, fair, reasonably priced rentals. To those who havent been to Glen Arbor or Leelanau before, Leelanau Vacation Rentals can be a great resource to help you find a convenient rental thats right for you and your family on vacation. Even if youve been up before and know what youre looking for, my family has continued to use Leelanau Vacation Rentals because their prices are at least competitive or better than some other rentals and theyre really helpful -- if you get in late theyll make arrangements to help you get into your rental with the least hassle possible.
