A very painful process, when it should have been an exciting time to build a custom home. Very poorly managed, inexperienced, lacking communication at all levels. Delays at every step of the process, and Alex is good to put the blame to someone else each time. Alex Irrer will go on vacation for many long weekends and shut off his phone and any communication. When delays/problems/questions come up, Alex, Eric Walstrom and others will ignore your calls. The communication gets worse and worse as the project goes out. They’re of course very attentive in the beginning and shortly after the contract is signed. Then, gradually goes downhill to wondering if you will be able to complete the project at all with weeks and actually months of the project staying idle. Alex and Eric are the two business partners and still do not communicate to understand anything about the projects going on. Be sure to have a very specific contract including a timeline and every detail you can think of for the scope of the project priced out or they will try to tack on extra charges to nickel and dime you later. Going into a custom build with Alex, be sure to have an attorney ready. Reviewing your contract will be very important, also paperwork along the way. Alex has given numerous threats of liens, so it is best to understand your rights as the homeowner. Many failed inspections and each time they will either blame the inspector for missing something or say they’re never seen/heard of that code being enforced before. A month or two ago their Facebook page was open for ratings/review and this feature has recently been disabled. So, I feel I am not the only one having these experiences. Their business is simply unprofessional and plain disrespectful. I don’t imagine this business model can last long. Beware of these guys.

I would have to agree with the comment about them being very unprofessional. After spending two weeks in November leaving messages on one of their employees voicemails I finally go through to someone at the office, I received a call Nagpur about my question that same day and was told that they would get back in touch with me.... this was before thanksgiving. Two weeks later I called them back to see what was going on, I was told that they were going to check into it and get back with me that same day. That was a week ago.

This team is A+! Their knowledge expands across all facets of real estate. Its refreshing to have a whole team of experts guiding you through the process whether its a renovation project, a custom build or finding your dream home. Not only are they knowledgeable about the industry, they are fair and honest. There were many times in the process they could have made an extra buck but steered me away because there wasnt a potential return. I wouldnt look anywhere other than Alexander for all your home needs!

They did good job on marketing in their website, but the truth behind the beautiful is usually not real. The website stated that there is a physical address office, but we never meet in that location. One of the owners is too young to run a real business. He provided the contract, but never followed what the contract stated until the customer actually pointed it out. He doesn’t care what the Michigan law and building code requires and will get pissed off if we ask for what the contract stated.

Alexander Real Estate designed and built a custom deck for my house. They took care of all aspects from drawing up designs to getting the permits and city inspection done. The deck is fantastic and we get lots of compliments. I appreciate that they took the time to find out what we wanted and the final product exceeded expectations. Service was fantastic and the build crew was very nice and kept everything clean. Wonderful experience. Look forward to working with them again.
