They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well it takes a tribe like Bayonet to raise an athlete. The difference between a village and a tribe is that a tribe shares the same core values and beliefs – a village is only together because that’s who lives there. There are three core values/beliefs to this tribe that you will not gain anywhere else – Passion – Knowledge – Support. My usual system would go as follows: I’d start at a new gym, workout religiously for 3 weeks and suddenly stop going. Never did I realize that it was the support system I was looking for to hold me accountable and responsible for what I did while I was there. My biggest fear starting was being uneducated and behind, but the support of coaches and other athletes helped me realize that we have to start somewhere, and it’s okay to laugh at yourself – everyone has been there before and they’re laughing with you - not at you. Here at Bayonet, we cheer louder for the last person still going – not the first. The tribe holds you accountable by creating great events or competitions that keep you interested in returning and mark your progress. It’s all about being a part of something greater than yourself. Bayonet gives you that. The coaching staff comes from all different back rounds – from Veterans, Level 9 competitive gymnasts and personal trainers who have now devoted their lives to Cross fit. The wealth of knowledge in this place is unbelievable. Egos are left at the door. The instructors do not push you beyond your comfort zone, but they do push you to your threshold to show you that sometimes you underestimate yourself. Most importantly, everyone here is passionate about what they do. We all have the same main goal – to be healthy, strong, and push ourselves to the next level of fitness one day at a time. It’s empowering to see the person next to your hit their own personal record. Drama can take Egos hand and go for a walk – “ain’t no body got time for that” when you only have an hour and a half to get in a good workout. Let’s face it – we’re all going to sweat, cry, and be in pain. Why not be passionate about it and do it right with the great knowledge and support Bayonet has to offer. Listen to our coaches, train hard with us, and I promise you results and great support, as well as a few friends along the way.

I had heard about Crossfit through friends for a few years and always wondered what it was like...can’t be that tough right? I exercised at varying levels of intensity, so this should be a breeze. So I started to look for a box close to my house, and found Bayonet Crossfit. I went in and met Derick and Adam, and watched the class that had already started for a bit. Derick said to come in the next morning before I went to work and try a class..so I did. My first class was at 5:00am on a Friday, and was “The Filthy 50.” If you know anything about Crossfit workouts, (which I didn’t at the time) it’s difficult. It took me almost an hour to complete...and that was with the gentle encouragement from Derick and Adam. Now to be honest I walked out and headed to work thinking, this is gonna hurt tomorrow. It only took a few hours...and I was miserable. So, what to do now right? I just did this Crossfit workout that I’ve been wanting to try, got my a$$ handed to me, felt completely defeated, and could barely move. Guess I wasn’t in that great of shape. So I went back Monday, this one shouldn’t be to bad...WRONG! Tuesday....OUCH! This continued for a week or so until I started to get used to the feeling of a GREAT workout. This was all in April of 2013. Today I can say that I have followed the programing that the coaches put on the board. I listen to their critiquing and put it to use on the next exercise or lift. I try to eat better. I am now in the best shape of my life. I’m happy with my results. I take what I’ve been taught by the coaches of Bayonet and use it in everyday applications to prevent injury in the home and workplace. If you’re looking for something new to get you in shape, looking to try Crossfit, or looking to change boxes this is the place. The coaches are great, the people working out with you are great and the workout is great. You’ll always leave at the end of a class knowing that you got a great workout in. “The Filthy 50” 50 Box jump, 24 inch box 50 Jumping pull-ups 50 Kettlebell swings, 1 pood Walking Lunge, 50 steps 50 Knees to elbows 50 Push press, 45 pounds 50 Back extensions 50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball 50 Burpees 50 Double unders

I dropped in for a class while I was in the area for work and had a phenomenal experience. Coach Adam Paulsen did a great job of motivating me to push through the workout, and improving my technique on several movements. The class was the perfect size (not too crowded), the people were great, and the workout was intense! I highly recommend Bayonet Crossfit if youre looking to improve your strength, endurance and health through Crossfit. Thanks for the awesome workout Bayonet Crossfit!

When I first started at this gym I was apprehensive. It wasnt the typical work chest/triceps and then squat set gym. As a gym junkie I wanted to make sure I was getting into the right thing. Well after being part of this community for over a year now I know it was the right thing. Not only am I challenged and having fun on a daily basis, but I have never been happier with my strength gains, my cardiovascular gains or my flexibility.

Ive been at Bayonet for 8 months now and cannot believe my own personal progress since starting. Things I never thought I would ever be able to do; pull ups, hand stand push ups, double unders are now second nature. Bayonets coaching, encouragement, guidance and structure sets them apart in comparison to other Boxs Ive tried out. (not to mention; the members are half the reason I WOD, an occasional shared cocktail is often needed).
