I happened to see a recent review saying the same thing Im about to say and my visit was a few months ago so I see nothing has changed. I had the $65 Self Renewal Pedicure--pricey but something I thought would be a great treat for myself. I had not had a pedicure here before but have been going here for years for my hair. The pedicure room is a very zen design along with complementary low lighting so you expect to have a really relaxing spa experience. On the contrary, the experience is like a nail salon, not a spa. My technician was great. I think she took the cue that I wanted to just relax so she didnt make too much chit chat. The other technician in the room talked NON-STOP and had a shrill voice that had me on edge the whole time. I am guessing she thinks this ensures good tips but it robs the customers of any chance of truly relaxing. If I wanted that kind of experience, I would go to a nail salon and pay half the price. This is a spa, there is a difference and you pay for that difference...and Ive experienced the difference at other spas. At one point, I asked my technician if they had ear plugs because I couldnt stand it any longer. (they do not have them.) In addition to this, another staff member who evidently had nothing to do popped in and engaged in a lengthy conversation with both technicians. I do hope the owners take notice of this and other reviews. There is no chance I would get a pedicure here again unless I knew that the staff had been given direction to conduct themselves in way that is conducive to a peaceful, relaxing environment. I saw another Daybreak review where the massage was not relaxing because of noisy kids outside the room. There should be a strongly enforced rule that once you walk through that glass door into the "spa" area, it needs to be like a library. As for hair, as stated, Ive been going there for years and my rating would be more like 4 of 5 stars. I would love it if I could get all my needs taken care of here but not as things stand now.

I have been to Daybeak before for pedicure, manicue and massage and loved it, but my recent experience was sooooo disappointing. I needed a pedicure and decided on Daybreak because I love the pedicure chairs plus I had plenty of time and wanted to just indulge myself between the holidays a little. The nail tech wouldnt do a full pedi because I had surgery a month before, even though my Dr. gave me the green light for this. I understand they have to be cautious but the pedicure was rushed, very little massage on either foot, etc. I was still OK with this, know they need to be careful so I settled in to the relaxation area to dry and unwind. Then the nail tech came out and gave me the bums rush. It was not crowded, I was the only one there. I was literally sitting there less than 5 minutes, she kept telling me that my feet would dry better out in the cold (I was not seeking cold feet!), took me to the front to pay and offered to escort me to my car in my flip flops! The tissue was still between my toes and of course, my nails got smudged. I probably could have gotten more "splurge" at the Asian nail shop a few doors down for half the price. Plus I wouldnt have had to listen to the nail techs woes about her boyfriend breaking up with her on Christmas day. I wont be back any time soon.

I love Daybreak. I go to Trisha for my hair and it always looks fabulous. I never really loved a hair cut I had, until I went to her. I would always pin back my hair because I didnt like the way it laid when it was just down. However after my first hair cut with her. I loved the way it looked down. She really took into consideration what I do to style my hair everyday. Shes also colored my hair and it always looks great after shes done. I also get my eyebrows and face waxed by Melissa and I absolutely love her. She takes time to make sure she gets every little hair, which is saying a lot. Shes the only person I have do my waxing and its worth every penny. Ive had multiple people do my manicures and pedicures. I did get shellac this last time. It didnt last two weeks, but it lasted a lot longer than regular polish. Im really rough on my nails and always washing things or applying sunscreen to kids so my nails never look great for long. I only ever get them done for vacation, and the shellac lasted all of the vacation. I love coming to Daybreak and its always such a pleasant experience when I come.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and services at Daybreak Salon & Spa. I started going there four years ago for my hair, and now I also receive biweekly mani/pedis and monthly facials. If money were no object, I would be there on a daily basis! The staff is first-class - from the front desk personal who are warm, friendly and professional, to the amazing stylists and awesome spa personnel. I have referred friends there and also my daughter who is now a regular client there as well. I know I am going to be treated well and, even more so, I know that I will walk out of there with a beautiful cut or color, perfectly manicured fingers and toes, and gorgeous, glowing skin. Daybreak would have no problems competing with high-priced salons in larger metropolitan cities in terms of quality of service, however you would most likely not receive the warmth and friendly atmosphere at those salons like you would at Daybreak. I am so happy to be a member of the Daybreak family. Daybreak is THE place to go Downriver for all your salon/spa needs.

Daybreak Salon has been my salon since the day it opened. I love the personal touches they use, from knowing me by my name and offering a beverage while they notify my stylist that I have arrived, to giving me a hand massage gratis while I sit with hair color in my hair processing. I always receive courteous and friendly service with plenty of smiles. When I pay for my services, the receptionist will ask me if I need any products (and she will know what I use because they keep a record of what I buy on the computer) and she will book my upcoming appointment before I leave. I am always very satisfied with the cut and color I receive. I also highly recommend the SPA at Daybreak. I have had several massages, treatments, and pedicures and have always been extremely happy with the results. I have received many compliments on my hair, often up to 3 days before my next appointment! I love the family of Daybreak!

I am very disappointed in this salon, ,I have used it many times, the actual service is OK but the salon it self is disappointing! !! I wanted to book a facial for my friend and My self and even though they have two locations they can only do one service at a time, then on the day I booked a facial for my friend, for her birthday they send out a coupon for 29% of all services for that day only, and when I go to use the coupon they said it was only for people who did not already have services scheduled, how horrible!! I would have canceled the appointment right on the spot if not for it being a friends birthday gift, so there I am with a 29% off coupon that they wont honor, even though it does not state "for same day appointments only" words can not disscribe how annoyed I am. This will be my last visit to day break.
