We had our wedding reception for 200 guests in the Event Space in June 2017, and we were so happy with how the night turned out! Planning with Elliot was so easy - she was easy to reach at all times and extremely attentive. We did not have to worry at all on the day of the wedding because we knew the space would look exactly as planned! The wait staff was very professional, and we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered that the plated meal was similar in price to the buffet (depending on entree choices). The food was delicious, and it was very convenient to have two full bars for guests. We went with the premium beverage package because we were not impressed by the "house" selections, but this is our only complaint. A definite highlight was the private room for the bridal party. Immediately upon getting off the bus, appetizers and water were waiting, and the staff began taking drink orders. Everyone appreciated a moment of down time to sit and cool off on a hot day, as well as a safe place to store any bags/personal belongings. Additionally, we loved that we did not need to bring in any rentals because the space simply spoke for itself. Linens and votives were provided, and the rest of the room was easily decorated with flowers! Something that we didnt necessarily think to consider when looking for a reception space was how the set-up of the dance floor made the experience enjoyable for all of our guests. Since it is set to the side of the room, guests who did not want to dance could sit on the opposite end of the space and be able to converse without yelling over the music. (And dancing guests appreciated not being a spectacle in the center of the space). We were very impressed by the surround sound audio, as all of our guests were able to hear the toasts without straining. Another major plus was the underground parking available for all of our guests (included in the room rental cost). It gave us peace of mind to know that our guests were taken care of and didnt have to drive around searching for an open spot (especially those from out of town). The garage was even more appreciated when it poured rain during the reception, and Grand Street even offered that guests could return the next day to pick up their cars if they needed to Uber/carpool home. We would recommend Grand Street to any other couples looking for a reception space in KC!

This is a hidden gem of wedding venues in Kansas City! I feel extremely lucky we happened to find and look at Grand Street Cafe for our wedding reception on August 27th. Grand Street Cafe is usually thought of as a (delicious) restaurant across from the plaza, but what many people dont know is that there is a whole separate wing just for wedding receptions/rehearsal dinners/etc. They have beautiful dark wood floors, white walls and white decorated ceilings, two cool mirrored bars, and super nice tables with luxurious white and black leather chairs (way nicer than your average venue chairs.) Also, guests get to park in a private gated parking garage and take elevators directly up into the venue. Additionally, since this is a full service restaurant, the food and drink are so easy and delicious! You obviously dont have to deal with third party food and drink vendors, and they are AWESOME menu-option wise and staff/server-wise. (Note: their chorizo flatbread appetizer and pretzels were huge hits! Also, I was obsessed with the salmon entrée.) Last and MOST importantly, their wedding coordinator Elliot is the biggest asset of Grand Street Cafe as a venue. When you sign a contract with Grand Street, included you get the day-of services of a wedding coordinator. She also helps you leading up to the day with tastings, room layout, etc. Elliot made our experience seamless, easy, and enjoyable. She is always accessible, organized, dependable, and is SO great at knowing the ins and outs of planning a perfect day. She had great advice for seating charts, layouts, menu, flow of the night, etc. And literally ALL we had to do to get the room set up on our big day is drop off all decorations, table runners, cake toppers, framed seating charts, etc. with instructions and she set up the entire room perfectly. What an amazing and convenient service included with Grand Street Cafe -- at so many venues, a friend or family member is stuck having to go decorate the whole room the morning of a wedding! Overall, I cant say enough wonderful things about Elliot and Grand Street Cafe! This is a beautiful venue, right by the plaza, with many more perks and nicer amenities than your average venue. I would recommend Grand Street Cafe as a reception venue to any future bride. THANK YOU!

They were fantastic -- our rehearsal dinner was PERFECT -- this place is a real hidden gem. We needed a nice place for around 80 people for our sons rehearsal dinner and we looked at dozens of places on the plaza and downtown KC near the church and reception on the next day. After working with Logan, we locked in on Grand Street Café -- working with Logan was easy and she gave us some great tips about the venue, food and drinks that helped us put together an event that we will not forget -- we actually had two events because both sides come from big families -- the rehearsal dinner for 84 people and a meet and greet with an additional 25 to 30 people made up of mostly first cousins. The food was incredible, the service was great and the venue was exactly what we wanted and needed. For the service, either or both Logan and Sean were there all night to help not only guide the entire night, but to ensure its success -- from delaying the bringing out of the food for the buffet because we were late getting there from the rehearsal to releasing the tables smoothly to making sure there was enough hot food to helping the set up of the AV equipment to having the bar go smoothly to helping us take the extra desserts and flowers out to our cars. It really could not have gone any better -- and the sign of a good party is that no one wanted to leave. We literally had to push people out the door 45 minutes after the scheduled end of the party -- so it was a great, great party and nobody went home hungry. I told Logan that she can have anyone she wants call me to sing the praises of Grand Street Café -- plus my neighbor has already jumped on the bandwagon and is having their sons rehearsal dinner there next month. Im sure it will go well. Talk to them and give them a try -- you will be glad you did.

The Kansas City Boys Choir & Kansas City Girls Choir had our Annual Scholarship Luncheon at Grand St. Cafe on the Plaza on Saturday, 8/8/15. Everything far exceeded our expectations. Logan was our coordinator. She was professional and helped to make this a smooth event to set up. On the day of the event, the event space was beautiful. The waiters and waitresses were very courteous, helpful and did a great job of serving and accomodating our 200 guest plus 50 choristers. The food was delicious, as always (You must experience Brunch at Grand St. on Sundays). The choristers really enjoyed the chicken fingers ! The Audio Visual worked wel,l as we showed two videos to our guest. Everyone could view the screens without distraction. Our event went very well because Rick, Kristy & Staff do a great job of preperation and pay attention to the details. I would recommend your next event to be at Grand St. Cafe. Logan does a great job coordinating and following up to ensure your event is a success ! Thank you Rick, Kristy, Logan & Staff !!!
