Just left the McCartney cabinet shop in North Kansas City, Mo without the 47" vanity that I waited almost 7 weeks for, although I was told it would be completed in 3 to 4 weeks. I received a call two days ago informing me that my vanity was ready. Upon arriving I was told to pay the remaining balance at the receptionists desk and to then pull around the side so that they can load it. I asked to see it first, which I was kinda surprised that he didnt show it to me before expecting me to pay for it. Im am glad I asked, because I saw it wasnt what I expected based on previous drawings and conversations. I pointed out the discrepancies and unfinished areas. He agreed to correct them and informed me that he would have it done within two days. I arrived two days later expecting to pick up my finished vanity. Same process, I had to ask to see the vanity before paying the balance. And surprisingly, I was again glad that I did. In addition to the vanity being covered in dust, I was disappointed with the modifications to the drawer fronts. But as I was considering my options I noticed that the left drawer front was at least a 1/4 inch narrower than the cabinet door right beneath it. To me, something that was so obvious that I shouldnt have had to point it out. Well it goes downhill fast, Hes agitated that (I can only assume) Im being picky.I strongly believe any customer wouldve expected the same when theyre told for the second time their vanity is ready. He displayed rude and questionable behaviors while making some inappropriate comments, I respond in kind, and it concludes with me leaving without the vanity that I waited nearly seven weeks for. Leaving me to ponder why??? I guess the only good thing is that at least I did leave with a check in the amount of $780 for the return of my deposit. I just wish I could get a refund on my time that was wasted.

We purchased cabinets from McCartney back in 2013. The price was about in line with everyone else, but the owner did an excellent job of selling us on his quality and service. After much thought we awarded our project to McCartney Cabinets. There were delays on install and once complete, McCartney took weeks to come out and complete punch-list items that should have been completed at the time of install. To be quite honest, the install process wasnt bad when compared to the quality of product that we were sold. Within the first six months, screws from the hinges started coming out of the cabinet boxes, causing doors to fly off. I attempted to get McCartney back out to fix the problem, but they would never call me back. Occasionally, they would answer the phone and respond by saying that they would have someone out as soon as they became available. Needless to say, that never happened. The straw that broke the camels back happened this morning when one of the cabinet doors fell off, striking my five-year-old in the head. To compound the problem, we are moving in two weeks. I called and called McCartney (they never answer) and finally I emailed them with a detailed account of what took place. They responded by letting me know that they couldnt have anyone out for another 2-3 weeks and they would not be able to fix the door prior to our move (how convenient), and that even if I took the door back to their shop, they couldnt promise it would be complete prior to us moving. I rarely write bad reviews, but after spending over $14000 on cabinets, I find it important to alert other consumers about companies like this.

The McCartney Cabinets installers were at our house yesterday putting in the new kitchen island. It looks fantastic. Even better than expected. Also, the installers were great. They were positive at all times, even when they were presented with a bump in the road, like you do almost any time you are working on a home improvement project. They were extremely professional in working with each other, and in working with my wife and I. Even though the old island had already been moved out of their way, they volunteered to take the granite off of our old island and carry the old granite and old island to the garage for us. They were positive and friendly throughout the entire process. They were extremely helpful in working with us on some last minute changes regarding exactly where we wanted the island. It resulted in positioning it in a slightly different location, which we are very happy with. Can’t say enough positive things about the way these guys handled the install. Same goes for everyone we have worked with at McCartney Cabinets during this project.

My kitchen is beautiful but has problems. Bob advised us we needed under the cabinet lighting which we added. It only worked intermittently. After more than 30 messages to Bob & I am not exaggerating he finally sent a crew member out. The crew member jiggled the wire, the light came on & he said it was a lose wire. He offered no solution. I started calling Bob again with no response. We hired a devoted electrician who tried a few different solutions with no luck. As a last resort he added new wiring by fishing the wires through the wall & found the problem. The wires had not been stripped correctly when connected. This took several months as the problem was intermittent. So a few hundred dollars later that problem is solved with no help from Bob. Now a couple of my drawers will not stay closed. Guess well be installing magnets. If I would of read this review I would not have hired "On to the next job Bob".

The person we purchased our house from had taken measurements and already ordered from McCartney Cabinets when we moved, so we had no choice in the matter. We have a VERY small kitchen and figured it wouldnt take long at all to get the cabinet doors and drawers installed. Boy, were we wrong! Two months after we moved, the installer came. To their credit, he was actually very good and worked quickly. One of the drawers had not been measured properly, however, and he could not complete the job because he had to take the drawer back with him and remake and reinstall. One of the doors also has a ding that needs touch up, and another drawer needs adjusting because it sneaks open and wont stay shut. When I call, they dont ever call back and I cant get them to come back to finish. Its been another month just to get completion and its disappointing. I would not recommend them to anyone I know.

Spent over $30,000 with Mccartney. Took them almost five months to completely install. Quality quite below what was promised. They dont answer phones and when you leave messages they never respond. Few times I have actually spoke with someone they are too busy to come out. Have Doors that wont stay on and drawers that wont shut. Nail holes not filled. They are IMPOSSIBLE to get to come back. Biggest mistake we made with this build job. Will never use them again or recommend them to any one. I read similar reviews before we hired them but thought it was just impossible customers that probably complain about everything. I was very wrong. Only decided to use them because friend thought highly of owners. They are nice but that is not enough.
