Checked online and the website cheerfully stated "Walk-ins are welcome", so I picked up my brother to take him there to get a haircut. I arrived two hours before they closed and was coldly greeted and told they were "booked solid" and there was no way they could fit us in for a haircut. I understand if youre booked, but there were three stylists/barbers there and only one had a client in the chair, and no one was waiting for a haircut. Its a short mens haircut that requires clippers only that would have taken 5 minutes max, and an extra $22 in their pocket. PLEASE dont advertise that you accept walk-ins if you prefer appointment-based clientele. Its not like we walked in 5 minutes to closing time, so there was plenty of time to fit him in. I had heard good things and was planning on switching from my current barber to H/H, but after this experience, neither my family nor I will be coming back. I ended up taking him to a chain salon, got his hair cut in a few minutes for less than half the price.

The atmosphere was amazing. The haircut was ok. The camaraderie was bad. When I go somewhere to get my haircut, I expect a certain level of camaraderie between the barber and customer, and I found none here. The barber sat me down and asked what type of haircut Id like. This was the full extend of our conversation. Instead of talking with me, he opened conversations with three fellow barbers. They were all having a hoot with inside jokes while us three people receiving haircuts sat awkwardly in silence until our trims were over. The haircut I received was pretty standard, and I did not feel like it was well stylized to me. I absolutely love the vibe and theme this barber shop has going for it, but the barber-customer relationship just isnt there. This was my first time receiving a haircut at H&H, and it will likely be my last.

Chris was a wonderful barber. My son totally enjoys having his haircut at Hudson Hawk. He pays more for a haircut than he used to, but he enjoys the extra pampering he gets (massage, razor cut on back of neck, washing after cut and styling). Chris even gave us suggestions on style with my sons calic. It always has stood up when he styles it after a short cut. Chris took time to show us how to solve that issue. My son is 21 and no one has ever taken the time to show us. Also, my son has Down syndrome and is very independent. Chris was very friendly and patient when getting to know my son and treated him with the utmost respect! Thanks Chris, we will be back for future cuts! We appreciate you and give you and the shop the highest rating possible.

Went to the sunshine location, it was an awkwardly cramped space. When you sit in the waiting chairs there is literally hair clippings falling on your feet because you are in such close proximity to the first barbers chair. My main complaint is that I specifically asked the guy to leave my hair longer on the back of my head due to it being really flat and I like a little fluff there to give the appearance of a more normal shaped head. What does he do? Shaves it right up to the very top! The guy smelled like cigarettes and seemed to be in a rush. Im sure a different location with a different barber would be a better experience but Ill stick with Brentwood Barber shop, Its cheaper and the guys there are a lot friendlier.

Davenport is a precision stylist who genuinely cares about helping people look good because he believes it makes a difference in their self-esteem. Hes on a mission. He is also interesting to talk to and a good listener. He even allowed me to share some of my grief with him. I get a lot of compliments on my sculpted beard, btw, so thats also nice. :) Additionally, he has helped me feel better about my thinning hair, by letting me know how normal it is and by making it look great!

The best barber experience both for my Sons & myself! I made an online appointment which was very easy, I was immediately impressed with the way the site was set up. When I called the shop to make the staff aware that their were four haircuts, not just one, the gentleman receptionist was kind & professional. Getting to the shop, we found a totally cool bunch of guys who treated myself & my boys with the utmost respect & caring. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

I really like the setting of the barber shop. It is a really laid back atmosphere that is more catered to men. I really did get a quality experience from it and a fantastic haircut. The only reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is the pricing. It is a fantastic place and I received a fantastic haircut, but i believe the price is a little steep. Either way, keep up the good work gentlemen!

If you are looking for a great barbershop and a full haircut experience Hudson Hawk is the place! You can be confident that you are always going to get a great cut, and the little things like a hot wet towel on your face, and a straight razor shave, make the entire experience better than anywhere else. Gavin was my barber and he did a great job. The best barbershop in Springfield hands down!

My son has been a client of Thads for two years and the experience has never been unsatisfactory the barbers there are awesome and even if you are not their specific client they will chat with you overall the experience is great. If you are looking for an old fashioned barber shop coupled with a laid back style and relaxed feel for a great price. I would defiantly recommend them

Hudson Hawk is absolutely killing it in Springfield. Far and away the best barber in the area. Thad has developed a signature culture that is palpable from the minute you walk in. Baldwin and Imperial products, exceptionally skilled cuts, and an atmosphere that you wont find anywhere else. I would recommend them to any guy with style. Solid.

Have had my haircut by several different barbers—loved all of the cuts I got. Easy to book online, and great atmosphere in the shop. They dont rush through your cut, and take time to listen to what you want. The Barbers know their stuff, and are honest with you about styles they think will work for your hair. Great business!

Ive been searching for a barber in Springfield for a long time, because no one knew how to manage my course hair. The guys at Hudson hawk downtown really rock it every time I come in. Im not afraid to go with any of the barbers because they are all seriously the best! So glad I finally found a barbershop to call home

Why would I go anywhere else?! Davenport is the man! Ill continue to have an undercut as long as he is around to help shape it! The staff is always beyond friendly and I love the online appointment setting. Makes it so convenient to schedule a trim. OH and the price for touch-ups is crazy awesome.
