Ive eaten at the Ellacoya Barn & Grille and had great service in the past, but we went there this past Sunday after a long day out. We had four kids with us who were very hungry. The place was very quiet when we got there. We got a very comfortable & quiet place to sit and order our meals. But what happened next was awful... our waitress truly forgot us and our food. And at NO POINT DID SHE apologize or explain (truthfully) the reason why we still didnt have our appetizers after 1 hour & 15 min! The place started filling up about 1/2 hr after we got there and ordered. But she never came back. We had to track her down. Finally the other mom I was there with went out front to talk to the Mgr. Other tables had come & gone - and one actually applauded when we finally had to talk to the manager. Our children were slowly slumping down and going to sleep - they were all "hangry" as they put it - 12-15 yrs in age. Not a good age to have them sit and be hungry. When we finally got our food (waitresss name was Mariah I believe), we didnt get an apology or and kind of "well comp your food" or anything. She never cleared a plate off the table. Our drinks were empty - it honestly was some of the worst service Ive ever had! It really made us upset that they didnt realize how hungry the kids were and no one came over to check on us at our table... even the Mgr at the time (Sunday night 7/23 6pm) never came over to us - we always had to go to her. Really? After the Mgr told me that shed "spoken" with Mariah, she asked me "but was the food to your satisfaction when it finally come out"". The food was good, but they ran out of romaine lettuce and a few other items since we got our food last, and the service was beyond substandard. The end result? The Mgr did comp a couple appetizers and gave me a gift card for the "next time" you come in... Thats probably that last thing I wanted at that point! And still no apology from her or the waitress. We just wanted a sincere, "were so sorry your experience wasnt good the first time we asked. Our asking seemed to annoy them - REALLY? This group of kids and my other mom friend are the easiest people to please and go out all the time. So this experience made us want to write a review. I hope things get better there, or theyll be losing a lot more local business - and travelers through. I go from the seacoast to Meredith all the time and I refer many folks about where to eat before shows at BK NH Pavillion, but Ill be skeptical next time I think of this place...thats truly sad.

So went there tonight with friends. Third time and last time, sorry to say. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, 4 dinners. Waitress was bringing our water prior to our meal, hit my chair with the tray and spilled the water all over me, my husbands shoes, and the floor, along with broken glass. Thats okay, stuff happens, but I certainly expected to be comped in some way, as I sat through cocktails and dinner soaking wet. Lo and behold, check comes, no comp. So I asked for the manager. Waitress says, "noproblem," grabs the check and crumbles it right in our face, walks over to her station and angrily tosses it in the trash. Manager comes over and apologized, said she didnt know it happened, and comps my dinner. When I got home, I smelled like a brewery...guess they dont wash the serve trays. Had to launder all my clothes. Inexcusable, given a $160 bill for 4 ppl. Honestly, meals were great but customer service leaves much to be desired. Will not return.

Ive given this place a second chance and was only more disappointed the second time around. Im sorry but if you think this is good food and a great value then you must think Mcdonalds is fine dining. $22 for 3 overcooked sea scallops in heavily "buttered" veg. "would you like a salad for an extra $2.50?" Sure why not... Salad was limp and cucumbers were partially frozen... Pulled pork sandwich comes on a crouton with what I think was pulled pork. Or bbq sauce over saw dust... Either way it was vile. The steak tips were over cooked and had a funky taste to them assuming it was the marinade. Steak is very simple to cook even applebees can control their steak temp. If you cant cook a proper steak then you should probably just close up shop. All in all I was extremely disappointed with my $64 worth of swill. Surprised they didnt charge me for my water. (Unfortunately I cant post without giving them at least one star)

Had to wait for service for 1/2 hour. The room was dark and we all couldnt sit together where we wanted to go. Where there was light and no one used those tables that we wanted. The whole time we where there. I was sitting with my family very close to the bar where the round tables are. I kept getting hit by the waiters while they had no room to get by. We where right next to the kitchen. Where they kept going outside to get the stuff that they needed. While they were wearing their aprons. It was a very hot humid day. The air conditioner was not on high very hot in that place too crowded where we where sitting. I didnt like it that place either will not go back again. Very expensive. It cost my husband and I over $200 for 11 people, for cheeseburgersand fries. REALLY!!

Pros - Location. Its slim pickings for restaurants around this area. $5 burgers on Mondays. Cons - service is 50/50. I have had polite and conscientious, but Ive also had more times than not rude, nasty and slow service. Food was mediocre for the price - steak tips were dry and cooked well (asked for medium-rare) and pizza burnt. Sent both back and both were corrected - but wasnt worth the 50 minutes we waited for food the first time and then 25 minutes for it to be corrected: with two young children with us (and no wi-fi or cell service in the restaurant because its a "dead spot"), it was tough. Friends had a bad experience with the manager, Ken, which prompted me to write why we stopped going there a long time ago.

Went on a busy Sunday late afternoon. Atmosphere is cozy and rustic. Service was great, and the food was good. Very nice menu full of options for every palate. My boyfriend had the sausage and shrimp jambalaya which was flavorful and very much enjoyed. I had the Mediterranean multigrain pasta loaded with veggies and perfectly grilled chicken in a light wine sauce, which came with a side of freshly grated Parmesan cheese... a very light but filling meal. Will definitely go back. The people next to us were sharing a delicious looking and smelling pizza- may try that next time.

We love this place! Rustic but cozy inside. Summer has an outdoor patio covered with grape vines. In Winter, there is a beautiful fireplace. Friendly staff and regular customers from the neighborhood as well as people on vacation. Food is fresh, made to order and delicious! On Monday night, they have huge, charbroiled burgers and fries for $5.00. Just know cheese and other toppings cost extra. Nice bar to sit at and eat with bartenders that like to chat. Its wonderful to eat here. Also great brick oven pizza!!!
