Every time I get talked into going to the water street cafe I remember why I didnt want to go back. Everything from bad food, expensive prices and the last time topped it off. We had 6 people and I understand if you want to add the tip in but it drives me nuts when they dont tell you they added the tip to the bill so you end up paying double the tip. Besides that the food was horrible and the waiter took it apon herself to let my son order a drink without asking me as his parent. Come to find out the kids meal does not include a drink like most places and they charged me $2.50 for a Small and i mean small drink. For my breakfast for 1 adult and 2 kids it was $23 and all I got was waffles. My grandmother got gravy on her food even though she did not want it and they actually insulted her behind her back because she said something about it, I saw them doing it. I am sorry but just because someone tells you there is something wrong with the meal you dont roll your eyes and look discusted at them. One good thing there is always cafe dejavu or the soda shop and they both have great food and service.

I have been here a couple of times. The food on the first night was just horrible. The waitress has no clue about the menu. The prime rib was the worst that I have ever had. It seems like it was cooked the day before and then refrigerated. The slice I received seems old and the fatty portion was cold. The prime rib is just like it was under heated out of the refrigerator. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and tried the place again. This time for breakfast. Nothing has changed! The food and service was again horrible. There are many good restaurants in the area and this is NOT one of them.

I had Water Street Cafes veggie burger and fries for lunch, which was the first and only thing Id eaten that day. Although it seemed typical diner quality at the time, I was horribly sick to my stomach for hours and hours after. You dont often hear of vegetarian meals giving stomach bugs either. Will not give it another try as the place doesnt offer anything special. As far as service, It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge me in the first place, and that was after I found menus myself. A waitress found it more important to fill the sugar packet box sitting next to me than acknowledge I was there.

We ordered the Prime Rib dinner and the Balsamic Chicken. The Prime Rib was ordered medium well but came as medium rare. It was sent back to the kitchen to cook further. The Prime Rib was flavorless. No seasonings or Au Jus. The garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli were bland as well. The Balsamic Chicken had good flavor but the chicken was a little dry. No vegetable was served with that dinner. Theres a window into the kitchen and I noticed that the cooks were handling food without gloves. The service was good and the decor very nice but the food was disappointing. We probably wont return.

Used to come here for great breakfast but today learned a new scam that they appear to be utilizing. Put bottles of NH maple syrup on each table. When you open it to use the waitress tells you that they are just for sale not for use. (No there was no other syrup on the table and YES this IS a breakfast place). A $13 mistake. The for sale sticker on the bottle doesnt mention it isnt for use by patrons. One might rightly assume it was ALSO available for purchase if you liked it. Guess not!!! Dont get caught in the same trap!!

So I find this place as I am driving through Laconia to our cottage, first time in the area. Its not on the main thoroughfare or anything. I have found that most of the best places arent. And I was right again! We had 4 people for breakfast. Everyone had something different, and it was all good! I didnt think the prices were too bad at all, plus the portions are large! It just has a homey feel, nice clean place. Wait staff was personable. Were going back at the end of the week when we leave too!

A quick stop here on the trip from NH to VT for breakfast. A cozy little place with good food, friendly staff and decorative little plane models hanging from the ceiling. With the CAFÉ SPECIAL BREAKFAST (2 Eggs, 2 Pancakes, 2 Strips of Bacon and 2 Sausage Links Toast, Coffee or Tea and Small Juice) you cant go wrong. Simple yet delicious...and for my pancakes I added bananas and pecans, what a delight.

We stopped in for dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the friendly service. My father in law was eager to go for the prime rib and it did not disappoint. Awesome is the only word he had for it! The all you can eat Fried Haddock was another stand out. My husband had the lamb which was done to perfection. This is by far one of the BEST restaurants in the Lakes region.

So good! So good! Fried haddock is always fresh and so good. my wife had smothered meatloaf which she enjoyed very much. Desserts and pastries are home made. We had Neapolitans that were delicious! Our waitress was efficient and friendly. Again, so good! So good!

Went here because of some menu items that sounded great. I was a little unimpressed by the atmosphere and the very basic look of the inside, but I did like the food enough and I had an AWESOME bloody mary. Probably not a place I would go very often though.

Was visiting the area for a week. Was referred to this place by the resort we stayed at. Beautiful, clean place. Both the food and service were excellent. Had breakfast there 3 times. Would highly recommend the vegi omelette.

We always stop here for breakfast at least once when we visit Lake Winnipesaukee. They always have amazing specials and you cannot beat the prices! I would highly recommend you check this place out.

Up for the last couple weekends for skiing with the family and found this hidden Gem! Great breakfasts, I had the marinated boneless pork chops today, out of this world. We will be back! :)

I love this place. Excellent breakfast in a nicer part of Laconia. The building is awesome. The french toast is my favorite. Bring the price down on everything by $1 and it would be perfect.

Just got back from a nice leisurely breakfast with 6 adults and two children. Food was well prepared and service was friendly. We would definitely go back when in the area.

Been a few times and never a good experience. Slow service, lousey food- usually under cooked. Prices high for what you get. Skip this one.

The food is excellent, and the wait staff are so nice. Service is always great, except for today, it was a little slow, but good.

Great locally owned spot that always makes room for us! Huge omelettes, sweet potato hash browns, and delicious coffee :)
