JUST GO TO PLAZA AZTECA. This review is about the Methuen location, and I would give it zero stars if I could. Ive never written a review of any restaurant before, but my experience at the Loop location pushed me over the edge. My experience was awful, from start to finish. My boyfriend and I walked in and the first thing we saw was someones back. The three hostesses were gossiping and the one with short hair had her back to us and none of them stopped until we were literally right in front of the podium and had been for a few seconds. Then, they all seemed confused about who was working and unsure of where to put us, even though there were maybe three other groups in the whole restaurant. We were seated, and we waited a full five minutes before someone came by and unceremoniously wordlessly dumped a bowl of chips and salsa on the table and left. Finally, another five minutes later, a girl came up to the table and said, "Do you have a server yet?" We said we did not, and she said, "Oh, I guess Im your server then." She never told us her name (the receipt said Alyssa M.) and took our drink order (not asking if we were ready to order food, even though we clearly were, as we had been there for about ten minutes at this point). She came back with waters (which we had ordered), then later with my boyfriends margarita, at which point she finally asked for our food order. I asked her which STRAWBERRY margarita she recommended, and she recommended a blood orange one, one of the most expensive on the menu. I ordered a strawberry margarita instead. After a long period of time, upwards of fifteen minutes, with her checking on the salsa multiple times (never the chips, just the salsa), she finally asked, "Oh, did you ever get your margarita?" When I answered no, she acted annoyed, and left. The food came shortly after. She finally returned with the margarita and it was sloshing all over the place and left a puddle on the table. She also forgot the sugar rim. The margarita was the single worst margarita I have ever had in my life, and Ive had a lot. I had one sip and right away I could tell it was half-assed. It was all ice (frozen), and there was zero flavor. No strawberry, no tequila, nothing. It was literally ice with food coloring. I had my boyfriend taste it to check, and his first reaction was, "Is it supposed to taste like nothing?" I tried a couple more sips to see if maybe I was overreacting because of the terrible service, but it was just truly a gross margarita. She never came back to check on how the food was (also bad, but whatever). When she brought the check, I said, "Just so you know, that margarita was really bad. It tasted like all water, and we both drank some to check and had the same opinion. We barely drank any of it." (We drank maybe an inch, half inch from the top, if that.) She was totally unapologetic and downright rude, and just shut down and said, "Well, I tried to tell you to order the other one." I replied, "No, Ive had this exact same margarita at the one in Salem, and I liked it a lot." She just brushed it off and left. No apology, no refund, nothing. I left a ~7% tip because my boyfriend insisted, but I would have left nothing if it were up to me. When we walked out, the hostesses were gossiping again and didnt even bother to say goodbye or have a nice night. Overall, worst experience ever. Terrible first impression, terrible service, terrible food and drinks, terrible last impression. Im definitely not coming back. All these things were really basic things that anyone could have avoided if they were trained well, cared about customers, or werent ridiculously lazy. For the price, not worth it one bit.

Never a dull moment at this hotel embedded restaurant/bar. I cant vouch for the food since Ive never eaten here, but from what I hear its you run-of-the-mill Americanized Mexican food, nothing special. I stay at this Holiday inn when I come up to this area for work and usually hit the bar immediately. For being a hotel bar, I give it an A for effort, in the sense that they always have promos, specials, and events going on. From what I see its pretty popular with the locals, but sitting at the bar sometimes feels like sitting at the cross roads of the universe, with strangers on business from all over, wandering in at all hours for a double scotch. So dont be surprised if someone in a cowboy hat sitting by himself at the bar decides to tell you his life story while all your trying to do is watch the hockey game. The one brunette bartender is extremely cute, although my guess would be shes probably sick of being hit on by every stranger blabbering about how good his sales job is, so much so that he is a whopping 119$/night suite in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire. On the other hand I was stunned when I saw the other bartender who resembled George Clooney to the extent that if I were to get a picture with him, it would be unmistakeable that I was hanging out with a celebrity. Where I am disappointed in Margaritas is their prices on drinks, I expected something less than 5$ for a well rum and coke in a small glass, although they redeem themselves after 9pm where 20oz Bud Lights go on sale for just 2$. The most recent special I been there for was some kind of full moon party on a Thursday night. I really didnt understand the occasion but it was packed with girls, which also could have been because the ECNE Boys were making their debut at Margaritas that night. In summary, this place wouldnt be a bad last resort if your looking for a night out in southern New Hampshire, but dont go in with high hopes, you may walk in to the bar smelling nothing but the cigarette smoke stuck to the four middle aged women in the booth, while the only ambient noise is the bartender filling the ice cooler and Zac Efrons "The Boys are Back"
