We were in the area touring some of the local colleges. We stayed at the Quality Inn which is in the same parking lot (and where Im assuming Margaritas gobbles up their starving, and one-time customers from). The meal from beginning to end was a basic disaster. After waiting about 15 minutes to be seated (not a problem), we were taken to our table. Our waiter, Juan, finally came over to take our drink orders. Maybe I was imagining it, but he seemed to be flirting with my mother and my aunt, which was quite uncomfortable. They each ordered margaritas (classic for my mom, special kind for my aunt), while my father took a Corona. As we were waiting, we tried the chips and salsa. The latter was absolutely terrible. It was hot without any flavor and very salty. We were starving though, so we ate it while waiting for our drinks. The menu was surprisingly expansive (we had never been to this chain before, but had a very good selection of Mexican restaurants in our home area). My father complained to Juan about our salsa, asking if there was some other kind. Juan said there wasnt but offered us some queso (for purchase). My dad refused but then later took him up on the offer, just to eat something other than the salsa. Things had been a little bumpy up to this point, but not awful. Juan brought two special margaritas instead of one classic and one special, a problem which it took about 10 minutes to finally correct. Ordering had gone smoothly. My mom ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos, my aunt a mini burrito, myself a steak chimichanga, and my father (having an infamous time with bad food at restaurants, especially Mexican) ordered what he figured to be the safest thing: a steak and chicken fajita. And thats when it all started. Everyones food other than my fathers was ok, but not great. But my fathers fajita was just terrible. The onions were uncooked, there was almost no seasoning, he got black beans instead of the refried he ordered, his tortillas were like crepes, and the meat tasted old. We had been on the road for 10 hours during the day, and he was starving so he ate about half of it, focusing on the meat. He was terribly angry and frustrated. The fajita, the un-mess-upable food, had been messed up. When we had finished, my father called Juan over to tell him how horrible his food was. He demanded that he only have to pay for half of his fajita since he had only eaten the (bad, mind you) meat. Juan, understandably, said he would send the manager over. The manager was quite nice and calm while listening to my father explain to him how terrible the experience had been from start to finish. He said he would work on the bill and came back with it cut in half. While we appreciated that, it wasnt the point my father was trying to make. As someone who was in the business, he was trying to explain to the manager how there were some serious issues with the quality and with the service. To top things off, my father felt sick for the next 2-3 days, and I question whether he got food poisoning. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I highly doubt we will ever go back to this chain.

I ate at Margaritas on June 10, 2014. I can honestly say that it was absolutely, positively, without a doubt, the WORST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN. To even refer to the gruel that they serve as Mexican food is an insult to, well, real Mexican food. I love Mexican Food. I am 42 years old and I have eaten Mexican Food all over the U.S. and Mexico. This was a grotesque representation of Mexican food. There was nothing redeeming about the dining experience. We arrived at 8:30 and were seated promptly. Thats where the positive comments end. Our waiter took our drink order and it took almost 10 minutes to get my unsweetened Iced tea. I asked for lemon and was given a pinto bean sized lemon wedge. I asked for artificial sweetener and I had to wait a few more minutes for a few packets of splenda that my waiter just tossed on our table as he walked by. It was the worst Iced Tea I have ever tasted. It honestly tasted like cleaning fluid and pine oil. That should have been a tip off. We ordered some atrocity called the "Cowabunga Nachos. I guess Cowabunga is Mexican for "seven pounds of lettuce, not much meat, and cheese that tastes like feet." I had never seen SO MUCH FREAKING LETTUCE on a plate of nachos. Of course, the amateur that plated the nachos put the lettuce on sopping wet so the nachos were wet, the chips were wet and soggy. We took a few bites and asked them to take the nachos away. My wife ordered the carnitas tacos, my son ordered a hamburger and I ordered the all-you-can-eat tacos. We waited over 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. FORTY MINUTES in a restaurant that was only filled to about 25% capacity. My wife was told she would get rice and refried beans with her tacos but that was a lie. No rice and beans. The meat was also burned like incinerated shoe leather. My son had a burned, dry burger. My tacos came with ice cold refried beans and nasty tasting meat. We all took a few bites of our food and just asked for the check and left. Stay away folks, you have been WARNED!

The server was pretty nice and tentative for the first part of the meal. The food was pretty mediocre and extremely over priced for the quality and amout you get. We were offed a side of guac for the all you can eat tacos, but were charged $8 for the "appetizer" instead. Also, i inquired about smaller portion dishes; as i had eaten earlier in the day. The option given was to order all 3 items as sides instead. I was still charged for an entire meal (although i opted for the 3 separate sides instead-since i wasnt really hungry). Our server sent over a supervisor, who made some what of an effort to remedy the mistakes. She corrected the guacamole charge and corrected the check to reflect the 3 items as separate sides instead then she removed the charge for the cheapest side item- still leaving a $15 total for a chicken breast and a small portion of rice. The decor was cool, but i doubt that Id ever dine here again. The food was average (below average if u consider what they charge) and the customer service was........ "happy with doing the bare minimal to appease the customer". Thatd be the nicest way I could describe it; being in the service/restaurant industry for 12 years myself. The server did try to make up for everything with a constant smile, which is always a great win in my book.

Staff was friendly, but they seemed very confused about what they job is. I wanted to take my mom out for Mexican, I knew it would be generic, but food was really bad. First, hostess sat down people before us, when we finally sat at our table I was under the impression that the food was magnificent since the place was packed, and the tables were crammed. We were sat in the middle and everyone that walked by us bumped into my chair. Waitress was polite but only checked in us once, so I couldnt ask for my 2nd margarita because I was ready for the check by the time she came to check on us. Ive had Mexican food in a lot of places, and Im not exaggerating when I say Taco Bell serves better "Mexican Food" than this place. Ive had authentic Mexican and a lot of generic Mexican in my days, I cant say enough how bad their food is! My mom ordered the shrimp enchiladas and I had the carne asada, both plates were terrible. We barely ate and brought most of it home for the dogs. The only good thing was the Strawberry Margarita. I still have the waitress her 15% only out of curtesy. I will say I have heard of happy hour being great there, and I would probably would go back there for drinks, but will never have food there again!
