I sent both of my kids, ages 7 and 8, to Discovery Corner for the summer camp but had to withdraw them a few weeks into the summer. My 7-year-old son experienced several instances of rough play over those first few weeks, which eventually culminated with him getting punched in the face by one of the other kids. The teacher who was standing nearby did not see this occur and little was done to rectify the situation. My kids did not feel comfortable that the teachers had done or would do enough to prevent further bullying. I also was worried that the rough play would result in serious injury since the kids spend one day a week at a public pool. The response from the teachers and management was not very reassuring - they said they would have all of the parents sign "the rules" again, that they would talk to the parent of the aggressive child, and that they were just now learning which of the kids were aggressive. Instead of enforcing the zero tolerance rules that were agreed upon at the beginning of summer, they allowed the aggressive child to stay at the center. My children were afraid to return there since this was the first time they had been exposed to such aggression - the Cherry Hill school they attend would not tolerate such behavior. So, I opted to find alternate care and removed them from Discovery Center. I spoke with the director after the incident in hopes of getting my activity fee returned, however it was a non-refundable $250/child activity fee. I would have regarded them more favorably had they returned a pro-rated amount to me since my children and I were the ones inconvenienced by their choice to keep the other child at the center. I would not recommend Discovery Corner to anyone seeking a safe daycare facility for their child.

My daughter was enrolled at almost 2 because it was our only affordable option. However in the short time she was there I had quickly grown to not like the facility very much. It always smelled bad. The teacher was very nice but the aids always looked messy and very uninterested to be there. I rarely saw them smile or not look like they were being forced to engage my child. I would pick up my child with food, a runny nose and dirt all over her face I guess because they didnt feel the need to wipe it off. More importantly all the children looked this way. I once picked up my daughter and an aid was changing a little boy on her legs with all the other kids crowded around watching. A HUGE problem in my book. My child isnt even 2 and I should get to choose when to teach her about little boys private parts. Not her get to see them and wonder on her own. Not only that, they call my daughter a different name every day. They dont even know her name... Are you serious. As soon as my child turns 2, I am definitely finding something different and it will be worth paying more for better quality than this place.

It took me a while to find this day care. I am so fortunate to have found it. The staff and directors are an amazing team. My child just recently registered for kindergarten and the teachers at the new school were impressed by how advance he is and proficient in all areas. There is such a good mix of table learning, hands on learning and play time that not only do I love it but my son thrives there and loves it. He bonded easily with the teachers and it is easy to see why. They take their care seriously and are at an exceptional level. I hate to admit that price had to play a part in where I sent him, but I have sent him to schools that were almost twice as much and did not stand up to the quality of Discovery Corner. The price, while mattering, I found out after we were there was one of many many amazing things about this school. I wish I could be with my kid all the time, but since I cannot I am so grateful to have this place that has become family and teacher to send him to.

Both of my children have been enrolled at Discovery Corner since they were infants. I have a child in the preschool classroom and the toddler room. Having my children enrolled at Discovery Corner was the BEST decision I have ever made. All the teaching staff are friendly and nurturing and they dont look MESSY. They are all very caring and i feel my children are safe. Also, I have never experienced walking into the facility with a bad smell. In addition, I have always felt comfortable talking to the teachers and director with any concerns regarding the children. Ms. Karen and Ms. Nina have always had an open door policy with the families at Discovery Corner, and any concerns are always addressed immediately. I feel that the parent below needs to approach the director if she has any concerns.

I started my two year old in Discovery Corner in May of 2009, the previous daycare she attended was nasty and consisted of a bunch of teenagers watching the kids. I started feeling uncomfortable and went on a search to find a better facility. I came across Discovery Corner and I felt comfortable enough to put my baby in there. My daughter has been there for over a year and a half and she knows her ABCs, she can count in english and in spanish, sign language and just recently became potty trained in one week. I have NEVER not once had ANY issues with this facility. The staff is always nice and more importantly my daughter loves all her teachers and I never feel uneasy dropping her off in the morning because I know she is well taken care of.

My daughter went here for a little over a year (from age 2 to 3 yrs 4 mos). While there we felt she was lovingly taken care of by all the teachers. The teachers have a cheery disposition and really seem to care about the well being of each child. Not only that but my daughter really learned! She was potty trained in about two months, knows her letters, numbers, writing - you name it. They have a very healthy mix of education and fun/creative play. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone. The only reason we left is because we moved to another town and it was too much of a hike to be realistic. But I miss Discovery and so does my daughter.

My son has been attending the facility since he was two months old, and since the first day he was in the school he has received nothing but love, acceptance, and fair treatment from his teachers and the directors. The day he leaves will be a sad one. He learns so much every day and has excellent pronunciation skills, knows all of his colors, has a vast understanding of how to treat others, and even knows what planet he lives on. I have never had a problem or any questionable thoughts of any teacher that has provided care for my child over the past three years. I am definitely sending my future children to this amazing school!

I have my 2 (almost 3) year old and my 5 month old enrolled at Discover Corner. I have been there through three different owners. The current owner has made so many improvements in the recent past and has raised the standards of the center to an exceptional level. My kids love their teachers and I know they are safe, happy, and well cared for everyday. While the care of my children is most important, of course, the tuition rates at Discovery Corner are also very competitive and include a lot (meals & snacks and a lot of other extras). I would recommend Discovery Corner in a heartbeat!
