I have been quite actively dancing Argentine Tango for close to 3 years. I have received instruction from many different teachers. I have been wanting to take my Tango to the next level and needed a world class coach to get me there. My searching lead me to the US Argentine Tango National Champion, Jevgeni Davidov. This weekend I had the opportunity to meet with him for several hours at his studio, Hudson Dance Studio, in Edgewater, New Jersey. The studio is beautifully decorated and the floor is very nice to dance on. Upon arrival we were greeted by the pleasant staff that welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Such a welcome was so refreshing after waking up at 4:00am for the 5 hour drive to the studio. Jevgeni was able to quickly determine where our weaknesses are and deeply dive into those areas and start correcting them. Not only did he correct what we did incorrectly, but, due to his active competitiveness he was able to give extremely valuable pointers on what the judges are looking for. We left the studio overwhelmed and with much homework to do before the next visit. It was an exhausting day but was so very worth it. I am looking forward to doing it again soon.

Not recommended at all. Ive been sending my kids to the ballet class there and they are doing a little recital at the end of the class. When we received the costumes for the show, we noticed that the quality of some costumes were very poor and the measurement/size were so messed up that some kids couldnt even wear them. When one of the moms brought up the issues to the owners, they didnt even try to listen and responded in an extremely rude manner. Just 2 weeks before the show, they sent out an email saying that they are selling tickets to the parents even though they are not renting a recital hall. None of the dance studios sell the tickets to parents unless theyre renting a place. If I knew that I had to pay for the show held at their own studio, I would not have signed up for the show in the first place. Only reason that Im going to go to the show, though, is for my kids who are so excited about it. After the show, Ill never go back to the place. Its so easy to be nice when everythings okay, but seeing how to take care of the customers concerns is the best time to see whats really in their mind and how theyre looking at their customers.

This studio is a wonderful place to learn to dance with great instructors. I have been coming here for 6 months, driving for one hour to take lessons and coaching lessons with Jevgeni, Ivan and Anna. These young and passionate instructors are worth the trip. The atmosphere in the studio is very friendly, the staff is always there to help you or direct you if you have any questions. Ive been dancing Ballroom and Latin for five years now and tried out a few studios in New Jersey (Battista, Dance with Me, Rogers) and this studio is really different. The instructors are very patient with me, they always check how I am progressing as I student and the lessons are fun. The location is also great and beautiful with a nice view and good hardwood floors (very important for dancing). Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Hudson Dance Studio is by far the best studio in the NY/NJ area. The instructors are wonderful teachers, people and are incredible artists. It is one thing to be a professional dancer, but another to be able to teach the dance and the Hudson Dance Studio succeeds on all levels. The warmth of the entire team is unlike anywhere else I have ever been and I leave wanting more each time. If I could go everyday, I would. It is not only a great dance studio, but it is also a very special community of people and youd be very lucky to be a part of this gem! I have learned so much in the last few months and it has even helped grow my confidence. The studio itself is beautiful and I look forward to dancing more and want the world to know that this place has got it all!

Love love love the studio! Beautiful space overlooking the Edgewater marina, welcoming and fun atmosphere, high quality of instruction of both group and private lessons. As an intermediate dancer, I took both private lessons and group lessons in several styles (Salsa, Chacha, Swing, International Samba) and really enjoyed the lessons. The awesome instructors I took classes with are Jevgeni, Ivan and Anya. I am now taking group classes and my fiancé, who is a beginner dancer, is taking privates and group classes. We are getting ready for Midnight swing nights at Lincoln center this summer. Check the studio out. You will be glad you did! :)

I have been attending HDS for a couple years now, and I have nothing but love and respect for the teachers and administration. I started out taking ballet in the junior program and I fell in love with the atmosphere of the place. They want the students not only to learn what they are teaching, but to understand it and improve. At the end of the semester they have a recital to showcase the growth of the students. The recitals are organized and administrated beautifully, it is definitely a day that the entire family will remember. It is overall the best studio that I have ever attended, and I dont see myself leaving anytime soon.

Hudson Dance Studio is a great studio.They offer classes for different dance styles and different age groups. Everyone can find here a class, which fits their personality.We take a ballet class and my daughter loves her instructor Ms. Lauren. She creates a great balance of fun and work during her class and kids love it. I see other instructors and classes as well and can say that all the instructors in studio are great teachers, they are all very enthusiastic, devoted to their work, passionately in love with music , dance and their students. The entire team is a great combination of high professionals and great personalities.

I love love love this place! There are so many amazing and well trained instructors here. So well rounded and outgoing but also firm and strict. The view of the city shines sooooo beautifully at night. I never want to leave this place and they will never tell you to leave. This was such a great investment, and not only for adults but kids too! Ive never seen any other dance school put so much into the kids from lunch to costumes. Every thing they do is with 100% of their heart. I guarantee everyone will love it!

THE BEST!!! The instructors are not only incredibly accomplished dancers but also patient, caring, encouraging teachers and coaches. My kids love them too! Their Latin & Ballroom program is exciting for all levels and their Argentine Tango program is unsurpassed in the area. My favorite night of the week is Wednesday because of Practica Merlot! They hold a weekly open level tango workshop followed by two hours of practice with professional and student Argentine tango lovers...Bliss!

@39, Hudson Dance Studio helped me discover my passion, dance! This is such a welcoming studio. Everybody has a smile on her/his face when you enter the studio. Instructors are top of the line! They make you feel like youre doing a great job and they appreciate every effort you make. Ive been coming to this studio for almost 3 months and Im so happy to have found a dance studio that is local and that offers dance classes both for kids and adults! I Iove Hudson Dance Studio!
