I was a little reluctant to take salsa lessons due to my inexperience, non-rhythmic dancing and body moves, a friend recommended I try Balmir Latin Dance Studio because the instructors there he said had patience with beginners, they all had a passion for dancing and the comradery of the studio made you want to learn. So I signed up and took a shot at taking lessons. BOY, my friend was 180% correct about this place, studio is clean and friendly and the instructors are absolutely fantastic. Even the owner (Mr. Balmir) was hands on with some of the classes and gave me key moves/shines/basic steps that I use at socials all over the city. I would like to thank the instructors and Mr Balmir for helping me become a better dancer and building my confidence to dance at socials. PS : The frequent socials held at this studio are AMAZING... a must attend event

Balmir Latin Dance Studio was not the first dance studio I learned from but it has been the last! 7 years and counting, Ive gotten to take classes and train with talented and professional dancers as well as competitors from AROUND THE WORLD thanks to studio owner and Balmir Latin Dance Company director Mr. Eric Balmir, who only wants the BEST for his students, staff, AND teammates . Not to mention our monthly socials where you can practice all your dance moves with other students, performers, and staff and PARTTTTYYY the night away!!! Ive been here for over a year now, and I still run out of work to this dance studio as I did the first couple weeks attending. This dance studio not only teaches well, but it has this special way of making you forget about all your troubles throughout the day (work, family, and other stressors). The instructor Eric, is so charismatic, and filled with personality; he turns the difficulty of learning salsa into cake. Theres no pressure there, and he doesnt move onto the next segment until he knows for sure his students are comfortable with the material that was taught. Amazing place!

Lived in the neighborhood and decided one day to try out their free open house class on last minute whim. Over 5 years later, not only have I learned salsa and bachata, but have gained a wonderful group friends who are dear to me . Great salsa studio for if you are a beginner, intermediate or advance, have late night classes for those that work long hrs. The owner Eric is super welcoming and has so much passion for what he does. The dancers there know how to have a great time. It is a great gem in the community.

Awesome place to come learn to dance whether its salsa, kizmoba or even latin Hustle. Just recently attended their semiannual salsa event at the Brooklyn museum and boy what was it a way to kick off the year. The studio has a great family oriented vibe and is full of laughter at all times. And for those who know thing or 2 on the dance floor their socials are one you dont want to miss. You should expect to be sleeping in the next day. Just saying from prior experience. Check it out!

Excellent place to learn to dance and have fun doing it...the teachers are very knowledgeable and down to earth...never a dull moment in class...the atmosphere is wonderful, and people just seem to be happy and having fun all of the time...thats just in the classes...the parties are on a whole other level!! Excellent Instructors, Great classes, Amazing dancers... If you want to know how to dance.....learn from the best of NY. Class schedules are during weeknights and weekends (fits great with working schedules). The monthly practice dance socials are the best; you can practice with dancers of ALL levels. Would highly recommend for people who want to add a little "SASS" to their life. They also have a First Class Free offer - Why not give it a try!?!

This is definitely the place to be! After being away from dance for some time Balmir really helped me build my confidence as a dancer and provided an encouraging atmosphere to do so in. The classes are fun, the instructors are amazing and everyone has a great time while learning to dance. Hands down the best Latin dance studio in Brooklyn. Earlier this year, I was looking for a place to learn Salsa on 2, so I tried Balmir and have been attending classes here since. The instructors/dancers are extremely talented and make every class fun to attend. Ive tried all levels from beginner to advanced, and people are always willing to help out when needed. Absolutely love! Balmir is home to some of the most amazing dancers in NYC! Such a welcoming environment. Their Salsa Classes are held in the evenings, which are super fun, super energetic, and all around great vibes. They also offer Kizomba, Afro Cuban, & Hustle. The instructors are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. This is the only place I recommend in Brooklyn.

This studio is by far the most talented salsa studi!!.. The teachers are very knowledgable, the staff is extremely pleasant, and the dancers there are so talented. No matter what class you walk into.. Theres always that welcoming feeling. I strongly recommend this dance school!... Especially since they have more to offer than salsa!!!
