I had a black tie event to attend last weekend and DESPERATELY needed a cut, color, & blow-out; I booked a consult at the salon but when I arrived there had been some sort if mix-up with the time and the stylist that I had scheduled the appointment with was seeing a client...and perhaps that was the Universe interceding on my behalf. The receptionist told me that another stylist could see me and in the back of my head I was thinking mmmm hmmm, I have waist length curly, coily here that had suffered terribly at the hands of a stylist at another salon this past summer and my curls were in serious need of rehab. I met with Kitty and our consult answered everything I needed to know, she was courteous, kind, informative and full of wonderful suggestions that would work with my hair; I booked my appointment for later in the week hoping that I had finally found a stylist who understood my texture and give me a beautiful winter color...AND YES!!!!! Can we say heaven in hair! Ms. Kitty did an AMAZING job, the color is a gorg chocolate with a hint of auburn undertones, she gave me an incredible trim and she even tamed this curly coily head of mine and when I walked out with a super sleek blow-out you would not even know thaat my hair is curly. The staff of Tousled is wonderful and Ms. Kitty...shes got one very happy client who will be back again. If you live in JC or the area you want to make this your salon of choice and Kitty your stylist!

I soooo wanted to like this place. Its cozy and cute and the vibe reminded me of the hair dresser I went to for the first 20 years of my life. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. As a new customer, I expected to be treated well so that I would want to come back. I was daring a significant chop to my long layered hair I had had for years. Kitty promised an angled cut, longer in the front and shorter in the back while still maintaining a medium length. From the start, I was not her sole focus. She had someone else who she was coloring at the time and her next appointment showed up while she was finishing my cut. I could tell her attention was not on me. I felt rushed out of the shop and after the whirling, maybe 45 minutes in her chair, I was walking home. Upon getting home, I was wondering what the back looked like and finally realized, she never showed me! Needless to say, the cut is not angled, is less layered and more shapeless than my previous cut, especially when curly, and when straight, it is clearly uneven in the front. And so the search continues.

I was a bit reluctant to get my hair done in JC, but since having a baby I needed a local place to avoid wasting time to go to the city. I am so HAPPY i tried Tousled!!!! The staff is lovely but most importantly my hair looks great. Rita did my highlights and they look very natural. She made it a bit darker, just as I asked and added much needed dimension to my hair. She listen exactly to what I wanted and did a great job. It is a bit pricey if you compare it to other places in JC but if youre used to NY prices youll save some money here, and the results wont disappoint.

I made an appointment with Gianna for my first haircut in two years after reading reviews on FB and Google, and being really impressed with the salons website (I particularly liked being able to make the appointment online). She gave me, hands down, the best haircut I have ever had. And even more, my poor boyfriend was soaked in a sudden thunderstorm on our walk there (he couldnt get under the umbrella fast enough); the receptionist got him towels to dry off and sit on. I was very impressed with Tousled Hair Salon and Gianna personally; I would recommend to anyone.

First let me start of by how panicked I was from my hair shedding like crazy after my son was born I started searching for African American hairstylist that could deal with my texture of hair than I found Tousled. What a relief I was so pleased with the service that Mrs Rita gave and her knowledge as what I should do to strengthen my hair. I have to admit it was a bit pricey but it was all worth it and I will be following up with my visits....THANK YOU Tousled hair salon

I had an excellent experience at this salon. Its very clean and the staff Is very friendly. I have relatively long hair and Alexis took care of me with more than perfection. She helped me find the perfect color and she cut and styled my hair and it looks amazing i couldnt be happier with the results. She completely listened to everything i asked for and went above and beyond. I would recommend this place for everyone

Having kinky kinky hair when wet, I get extremely nervous with trying a new salon and having someone gently and effectively detangle and care for my locks. Gianna hands down did the best job...EVER and my blow out was beyond amazing!! Looking forward to my next visit with the salon (oh and how about not spending my entire day at a salon?? Who knew it existed!! Thanks Gianna and Tousled!!)

Tousled Hair Salon is awesome! With the aromatherapy massage, Aveda products and talented stylists Tousled is by far the best salon Jersey City. The atmosphere is serene and relaxing and the music is great. Sarah is able to read my mind and divine exactly what I need. I look forward to every appointment at Tousled and I cannot recommend it enough. You wont be disappointed.

Tousled is by far the best salon in Jersey City. Ive had my hair straightened, cut and colored by Rita and I am so happy with my tousled locks! Plus, the decor is awesome, the Aveda products are wonderful and the entire staff is super friendly. No need to go anywhere else for great hair.

Terrible Organization - I got 3 messages about my appt time and then the next receptionist had no idea how things got screwed up. To make a long a story short, I was there at the updated appt time per 3 voicemails and they could not take me and my credit card was charged $50.
