My fiance wanted to try learning to Dance after we witnessed our friends do the "Prom 2-step" for the first wedding dance. I was highly reluctant, but after one lesson I honestly was hooked. The people at Fred Astaire were incredibly nice, helpful, and best of all, patient with people just starting off. They were also very local based, which was cool, and were genuinely interested in talking with you even before and after the lessons. The lessons flew by because I ended up having a lot of fun and at the end it was really cool as they all watched and cheered as we danced to the entire song. Thats something that gives me anxiety thinking about, but at the time it was awesome because they are just helpful and great people so it didnt feel like people watching, but rather like friends supporting us. Take it from me, this studio actually makes you want to learn and do better, and they make you laugh and enjoy yourself as you do. Very much worth it. Thank you Belle, weve been practicing I swear!

My husband and I started at Fred Astaire last year with the intention of taking a few lessons to avoid looking clumsy at our daughters upcoming wedding. Well, a couple of lessons turned into a couple more, then turned into father-daughter dance lessons and bride & groom first dance lessons (both of which received thunderous applause at the reception). Now that the wedding is over we have decided to keep it up because its just fun to get out together and be able to go to a social event and say "Cmon, lets dance". The instructors are fabulous and very patient no matter what your level of dancing expertise (Ours was zero).

Now I have spent nearly 10 months learning to improve and move to the next level in my dancing. The owner and instructor Erin Marie is highly competent with somewhere between 25-30 years overall dancing. I have had over 19 years of instruction in other Ballroom dancing studios, as good as they were in the past I must say Ive learned more in the 10 months and enjoyed it beyond that. Lovely caring people throughout the FADS community, all the statewide studios are wonderful, but I believe my experience with the Tinton Falls studio has been the best of my life. I got my introduction to dancing at Fred Astaire in Red Bank so they will always hold a special place in my heart. I picked up dancing as a hobby to keep myself happy after work and I quickly fell in love with it. Having a good teacher who is fun, supportive, and knows how to explain well is absolutely critical in enjoying dance, and the teachers in Red Bank are the best in the area. Their new location is beautiful and Erin has done a wonderful job. It may sound cliche, but dancing is a passion that you didnt know you had until you try it. I highly recommend this studio to everyone.

Fred Astaire Dance Studio has been a part of my life for many years. No matter where I am living or what Im doing, FADS has greeted me with open arms, hugs, and smiles. My wife and I have a ball learning ballroom dancing at Fred Astaire. We love their new location on the second floor of the new 1191 Sycamore Avenue shopping center in Tinton Falls. Mostly, we have lots of laughs and smiles with Joe Joe and Erin, April and all the staff there. Its a great place, we cant say enough great things about it. We may not be the best dancers at next months wedding, but we will be among the most fun dancers there.

Ive been shopping around at various dance schools, this school was nice on the inside, but in my opinion expensive. If you dont mind paying for it then its fine. A place in Fair Haven NJ just opened (literally this month) and they have excellent teachers and great deals going on now. Nice large floor.I may possibly even teach a beginners tap class there!

I have had a lot of great instructors, from tommy (my first) who always made me laugh, to R.J., to Pablo, and finally the one who really got me was Ken. I loved dancing with all of them. Ken is the best instructor that I could have asked for. Every time I dance with him, it seems dancing is becoming a bit easier. Love them both (Ken and Christina).
