For my fellow black women that still get their hair relaxed, I HIGHLY DONT recommend Mosaic Wellness and Beauty, unless you are willing to walk out of there paying $165, yes I said $165, for something that looked like you could have done it yourself at home. I went here twice. The first time I went was on Sept. 25 for a hair wash. I got a deep conditioning, blow dry, and flat iron for $65, $10 more than I usually paid at the hair shop I was going to in my area. Ok, not much of a big deal. Then I went on Oct. 8th for a relaxer. I asked the woman who was doing my hair, Crystal, to please tell me how much it was going to be, so I can get my money together. She eventually gave me a green ticket with a break down: $100 for the relaxer, $25 for a deep conditioning (even though she gave me one the day I went for a wash), $20 for a blow dry, and $20 for a flat iron. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the cost. At my old place, I was paying $60 for the same process. Then she had the nerve to tell me that when I got my hair washed the last time I was there, I received a 20% new customer discount. When I got home to check out the pricing, for chemical treatment, it says that all chemical services include deep conditioning, blow dry curl, wrap curl or doobie set. Unless Im reading it wrong, to me that means included in pricing, not that youre going to get charged for every single process. I called to verify if everything was included in pricing or do you get charged individually for each process and all I got was uh. I think so. Needless to say, its been a week and my hair is already stiff and dry. I cant even say it was worth the money. It looks like a relaxer never touched my roots. I totally regret giving her a $35 tip, but I did it as a good bye tip, because I will NEVER go there again. They have a nice little scam going on over there. Im surprised she didnt charge me for trimming my ends. When I asked Crystal would she ever consider opening up her own business and she answered that if she could build her clientele base back up again, I should have taken the hint...

A friend of mine recommended that I go to Mosaic because they have wonderful manicurist service. Well, I ended up there after a horrific haircut elsewhere. For some reason, I thought that my friend had recommended them for hair at the time. I couldnt have made a better mistake! I walked in on a Tuesday in the early afternoon. I needed HELP! My new haircut looked awful. I was embarrassed to be out of the house! I had gone in to another salon with a photo of exactly what I wanted: A 1960s pixie cut. Boy short. What the stylist was trying to give me was a cut that she referred to as the Kardashian moms style. I have no idea where she got the idea, I have no clue, but it was an awful experience and I was desperate for someone who KNEW short hair, to do something with the cut and color to make me feel good about my hair again! The one day that Clelia works is Tuesday. I am so lucky that she was available. I explained to her what I really wanted and she was honest about the fact that she couldnt get there with the awful cut I had now, and that I would need it to grow out a bit before we could head in that direction. We talked a lot about what she COULD do to salvage my hair, and we went ahead. I walked out of there with a pretty adorable cut and new color that was funky and feminine. Clelia really knows her stuff. She was great to work with and you can just tell that it matters to her that you are completely satisfied with your style when you leave. Thank you, Clelia and Mosaic Salon!

Sounded great when I booked a couples massage and pedicure. When we confirmed the time they suggested use of their sauna, the outdoor porch while eating from the deli next door, etc. They forgot to say arrive an hour or so before your appt to do so, both when I made the reservation and also the confirmation. My fault for assuming massage first, then sauna, maybe lunch or snack then pedicure....BUT they never told us to come an hour early since once they get you in, they rush you out. We arrived, they brought us to the massage room. Massages therapists were below par as we belong to a massage service, and being a spa youd think theyd have better trained therapists to address different massage levels(deep, medium, etc.) Once massage was done, time to enjoy what they told us about(sauna and lunch) WRONG! they then rushed us to the pedicure room.... Still In our robes... Other people in the chairs were in street clothes..... How uncomfortable and awkward. Since my wife had her nails painted, no way we can go into the sauna.... Plus being in robes she had to get dressed afterwards and ruined one of the nails.... Again the spa should have instructed us about changing back to regular clothes, arriving early to use the other portions, etc.. In summation, a hair and nail salon trying to pull off a spa.... Epic fail! I dont fault employees, as ownership and management are at fault for not running a spa as it should be.

If you ask me what I think good customer service is I would answer, "Customer service is service that goes "above and beyond" the norm. If you ask me "WHO IS THE BEST STYLIST IN THE WORLD?" I can answer that question also. Her name is SANDRA BALIYA and she works at the Mosaic in Morganville. I have been following her for twenty years because I know that I would never find another hair stylist like her. She is the perfect example of someone who goes "above and beyond" to not only provide the best service, but also remain constantly educated on the latest cutting edge trends in hair care. She is a beautiful person and genuinely cares about her clients and what they want. Sandra has always specialized in color and I have always impressed with her skills. I am never afraid when she colors (or cuts) my hair. Having my hair done is a pleasant and relaxing experience. She has straightened my daughters hair and went out of her way to make sure she was happy and informed of how to maintain and take care of her hair. The Mosaic Salon is lavish and you feel special when you go there. The staff is friendly and always make you feel welcome. Five stars isnt enough to give this salon!

My review is regarding my experience with Aura DAmato. If you had to choose one thing to do to improve your health, I would highly recommend a Reflexology & Energy session with Aura. If you want one word for her, Id say "Amazing" or "Healing" or "Renewing". There is no real way to describe how special her treatments are. What I can say is my headaches are gone & for the first time in M O N T H S, I am falling to sleep easily. Just those two things alone are life changing for me, but there is so much more. I feel renewed when I leave Aura. When you have a session with her, you will understand that there is something very special about her. She is a lovely person to be around, very, very soothing. I cant explain it any better than to say she truly has a healing touch. I tell Aura all the time that she is a gift I give to myself. I go to Aura at the Mosaic location in Morganville. I think she does all of her sessions at that location
