I have been going to Jackie for the last 8 years, following her all over NJ! When you find a good stylist that turns into a friend you hold onto them! Naturally when Jackie opened Spruce I followed her there. Not only for myself but bringing my whole family- kids and husband. Jackie, Ames and the entire crew always make it feel like a party. The environment is beautiful, relaxing, and easy going. The service is beyond, and that says a lot when you roll in with 5 people! It all starts with a shampoo infused with essentials oils and hand massage that really sets the tone for the visit. Then you talk about what you want. The staff always knows the latest techniques. They are knowledgeable, honest and supportive in what we should do (ahem grey hairs) or not do (like that time I wanted a Brazilian keratin.) Next you relax and enjoy the new, cool, friendly environment while hanging out sipping a cucumber water or reading magazines. Finally a blow out and style that makes me wish I had party plans so I can show off my new cut and color. Obviously I highly recommend Spruce. If you are within the 40 min drive like me- its worth it. If you live closer... what are you waiting for!!? :)

Spruce is a very clean and organized salon with a genuine staff that makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in the door. The stylists are fun yet professional, will listen to what you want, but will offer their opinion to make any look more suitable for you. Im constantly impressed by the color, cuts, and other services (waxes, keratin, updos, etc.) that these ladies provide, so I promise that you will be too. Ive noticed that Spruce is not only a great place for women, but also a great place for men and even kids! Whether youre looking for a new style, a new color, or even an amazing blowout for the weekend, I highly recommend this salon. Did I mention they give complementary hand and scalp massages? I went to Spruce salon when I had finally reached the end of my rope with my look. I told them I wanted to be super blonde/but natural looking. I knew it was a huge feat bc I had destroyed my hair. I left there with the best color I had ever had. Ever! I was under the impression it would be a long process to get the look I wanted but after the first time there I left 100% thrilled. I cant wait to go back before the holidays and this time go for the cut as well. The salon is spotless and the staff are courteous and friendly. Its a great experience from beginnin to end. Ps. Bought an aveda bronzer and brush on my way out that have been my favorite(and only) make up I use daily. Plus aveda shampoo and conditioner that my hair REALLY needed. Great products! A+

Absolute best experience in a very long time! Id sworn off small salons after a nasty experience with another salon, so I went into Spruce hesitant but hopeful. The owner answered my phone call ON THE SALONS DAY OFF and was friendly and quick to book my appointment. I was paired with Jenn, who listened to my explanation of what I wanted. She far exceeded my hopes: the cut was great (and fast, as per my schedule that day), and she solved two odd hair problems that had recently popped up. I would DEFINITELY recommend Spruce Salon to anyone seeking a professional and approachable salon in the southern Monmouth area. Theyre great!

Her highlights are always the most gorgeous color blonde- never brassy! Jackie is the owner of the Spruce Salon where she has worked to earn the coveted Aveda seal of approval. Spruce carries the full line of Aveda products, from hair care, skin care to make up. The Spruce Salon has a happy vibe, the staff is chatty and courteous, and the fact that you receive a hand and scalp massage -on the house- is the ultimate luxury.

For the best haircut around, go see Jackie at Spruce! I travel 1.5 hours for my 6 - 8 week haircuts. There have been so many compliments on the changing styles I have had over the past 2 years. The cut always looks great as it grows out, the sign of an excellent cut. Friendly, bright, talented and easily accessible. The goal is to make every customer happy and I AM! Also, what I have seen in the chairs and on FB make me want to color my hair and get married so they can all attend to me at Spruce!

Im from Hoboken and I literally take a 2 in a half hour train and then a cab JUST TO GET TO MY HAIR DONE AT SPRUCE SALON!!! I have never had a haircut (especially hair dye) like I have from Spruce. They are AMAZING. Best in the business if you ask me! I only get my hair done at Spruce and I will always come to Spruce. I can only HOPE that one day they will come to Hoboken :) Cant wait for my next hair cut!

My experience at Spruce is always delightful. Megan does my cuts and Juliana does my color. Both stylists have always done a great job and are very knowledgeable. At Spruce Salon, getting an appointment has always been convenient and the products they use are amazing! I always feel very welcomed and relaxed when I enter Spruce and look amazing when I leave the salon! I highly recommend this salon!

Jackie and the team are great!!! I have been a client of Jackies for over 10 years and with her investment in Spruce I have benefited from the extra training and product she has access to as an Aveda salon. The salon is welcoming and runs on time. You dont have to be a weekly client to be treated like a regular, its a great place to hang out while getting a current look.

Thank you to everyone at Spruce for an amazing experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the sweet receptionist and then brought back to my stylist, Jackie. She took her time with my highlights and cut, and I was even given a scalp and hand massage! I love Spruce and will definitely be back :)

Ive had my hair done here, and my son (3.5) has his hair cut. Both experiences top notch. The kids cut - well - thats pretty simple, but I have super dry hair and weird regrowth and they made my hair look like red-carpet stuff. Couldnt believe it! Wished I lived closer, but always go when in town.

They were very nice and the hair cut is perfect, and then it cost me 45 dollars. This review could go either way, if you normally spend that kind of money on your hair, the people here are wonderful and I recommend it. But if your like me and do not, stay as far away from here as possible.
