Having frizzy and unruley hair I had a consultation about having a kertin treatment done. I was assured and promised I would love the condition of my hair after the treatment was done. It was very expensive but to me worth the price after hearing what one of the master cutters told me about having the treatment done. I did exactly what they told me, not getting my hair wet letting it stay the way I left the salon for three days. I bought sodium chloride free shampoo ONLY. I was told the treatment would last 3 to 4 months. I washed it out as directed. The main reason for the treatment for me was going away where the humidy would of made my hair a nightmare. After the first wash it was shiney but a lot of split ends I was willing to live with that. I got the treatment done about five days before leaving for vacation., there was a differance being in humidity and I thought this is what I have been looking for and what I was promised, WELL its been less then three weeks and the product is out of my hair.I went for a hair cut using a master cutter and she was shocked when I told her I had the treatment done. she said there was no product in my hair at all. I knew this because I had seen the frizz back on these humid days. The reason I chose another haircutter was to see what they thought about the product washing out.I was told originally that they would have to clarify my hair three times before the treatment just one of the reasons why they justify it starting at $300. and up my hair is above shoulder length!. when it was done I had One clarifying shampoo. which was done very fast, there were not three clarifying shampoos done. as explained to me.also.Because of time the master cutter had to leave for a while which I knew about but I was so excited about how happy they said I would be I did not care.so a young girl tried to blow out my hair. This was actually the second time this happened a few days before I went in for a color and foils I sat there wondering why I was told I needed a two hour slot for color as well as this treatment.when they do not devote that time to you and while you get a whispered I am sorry they still do what they have to to make a buck if they are running from one client to another its not a one and one time with your cutter. it seems they double book, I now have learned that you must be certified in order to do this process correctly that you must be clarified but it is timed . . I noticed when it was being done my hair was not really saturated with the product almost like skimping. My hair was not flat ironed according to my cut which makes a big difference when you have difficult hair. I also did lots of research and time and time again I read how after the product was applied there was a waxy feeling to it.I had none of that no smell which I read is also there I spent over $500 in this salon with the color and treatment.and gave the cutter a $40 tip thinking It is all worth it and worth the price for nice hair as promised. I am truly unhappy with the results and the way I now have learned it was done. I am happy to say I found my original Master Cutter who will be doing this treatment to my hair at a cost of about $200. I was promised Id be happy with the results and honestly I am so bummed that I spent all that money which I worked very hard for only to be back to my original hair just after two and a half weeks. I would recommend if you are planning to spend this much money you go to a salon that truly knows what they are doing. .

I just moved to the area and decided to try out Tapestry Salon after the reviews I read online. I must say I have never felt like crying after a haircut as I did after going to Tapestry. It was by the worst experience Ive ever had at a salon. The hair stylist I had was Katrina M. I must say that she was rude and unprofessional. I asked her advice in terms of the haircut and she had none to give...which is fine, I guess. She isnt my personal hair stylist ...so she doesnt need to be giving me her opinions. But once I told her what I wanted, she was like "I cant understand what you are saying." (like I was speaking Greek or Latin). Im not sure if she just said that just because I wasnt Caucasian. It just seemed silly that she didnt get what I said because I was raised in the U.S., speak fluent, non accented english, and also communicate with people on a daily basis since I am a physician. After I told her what I wanted, she made one straight cut across and took off an inch off my hair and was done. I am not kidding when I say that it took her literally 2 minutes to cut my hair. I could have gone to any salon and got what she did for $12. I would have asked her to fix it but I was afraid that she was just gonna mess up my hair to the point where I couldnt get anyone else to fix it. I would have excused the bad haircut if she was a nice person. But she was rude, barely looked at me and acted like she was way too cool to be cutting my hair. I will never step back into tapestry salon again...which is a shame because I live pretty close by and I was looking for a place to get my haircuts, mani/pedi and facials for many, many years. They have lost my business. I just hope that no doctor will treat her the way she treated me ....unprofessional and rude....because we, as physicians, could be racist and unprofessional. But if we did that, it would literally result in a lost life and not just a bad haircut. Lastly, if you decide to go here...stay away from Katrina. To be fair, I must say the other people that I came in contact with seemed nice and courteous.

I used to go to Tapestry all the time--I always thought they were overpriced and thought that they thought they were something too special for the area. The final straw was when I brought my son in for a haircut. He was 10 months at the time and I was paying $16 for his haircut plus tip. He was crying during the haircut, and yes he was crying a lot--but as if that wasnt bad enough--I was asked to leave in the middle of my haircut because he was disturbing the other customers. I was disgusted. But I understood. The part that took the cake was when I went up to pay and they still took my money for a 3/4 finished haircut. I still tipped the girl who cut his hair, Jill, because it wasnt her fault but I never went back--never. Not even when they called me to tell me that I left his denim jacket behind. Not even when they sent out their desperate 50% off any service coupons. I always visited Sivana Salon in St. James--they are AMAZING. Down to earth, but so trendy and are always getting more education on cutting, styling, and coloring. However, now because of Hurricane Sandy my beloved Sivana is still not open. In desperate need of a blow out and my daughter needing a haircut Im giving Tapestry another try. My hopes arent high after reading these reviews but Im hoping I at least get what I ask for.
