I dont know about the last review, but I went there on 10/17 and had my hair high and low-lighted. I have totally gray hair, and had been dying it dark brown (my natural color) to cover the roots, but my hair grows extremely fast, so Ive had to color the roots every 2- 2 1/2 weeks. I went to Palace on the recommendation of two women I work with, and I just got a trim, which was great. I resigned myself to letting it grow in gray, instead of coloring the roots every two weeks. Galina saw me as I was getting ready to leave and asked if I was going to do color, but I told her I was letting the gray come in. She said I was too young (looking) for gray, but I told her I was old enough (Im 54). I left, but ended up making an appointment for the week after (10/22/11) and had the color done (stripped the old dark brown, and then high & low-lighted). It came out amazing. Galina also re-cut some layers in it (it was a little below chin-length bob). She wasnt that happy with how the color came out at the front and top of my hair, and wanted me to come back in a week, and shed re-highlight those sections (at no cost). I went back today, and it looks even better. She said I would only have to touch it up every 2-3 months, because the gray will now blend in with the rest of the hair (I went from dark brown to a honey-ish blonde!). At the rate my hair grows, 2-3 months will be much better than coloring the roots every 2 weeks! Everyone there is very pleasant, from the girl who does shampoo to the stylists. Today they were all dressed in Halloween costumes, and were all having a good time, and the customers all seemed to get a kick out of it too. All in all, I give this salon very high numbers, and their prices are great too! Love it!

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH! A well-groomed woman with gorgeous hi-lights came into my place of business. Being new to the area I asked who her hairdresser was. Hesitantly, she told me that she goes to a salon in Hempsted that doesnt have the best appearance, but she had been going there for many years and was very happy with the girls who do her hair. She told me she would only go to Dee or one other girl (I dont recall her name) and she strongly recommended them. Since a local stylist had turned my hair entirely orange, it was time to take another haircolor leap of faith... so, I made an appointment. I drove to the Palace feeling nervous of the area as well as the salon since I had read so many unfavorable reviews. When I arrived Dee was finishing up with two other customers (one of which had very nice hi-lights). I waited thirty minutes for her in an uncomfortable chair and then it was my turn. Dee, a very pleasant woman introduced herself, listened to my concerns, and proceeded to do miracles with my hair. She heavily foiled my hair and then painted on a light brown color between the foils and at the roots. After waiting for the expected time she put a clear glaze on after the shampoo. I wish I could show you how stunning the color turned out. In addition, the service included a cut and blowdry at no additional cost. Dee was professional, experienced, and more than competent at performing my difficult color correction. I just left the salon, sped out of the area, and looked in the mirror to see the most beautiful hi-lights Ive ever had. The decision to try them is up to you and I know youre taking a risk, but sometimes thats what it takes to get the results you really want.

I went and got my hair done there and was very unhappy . I left with my hair orange . she told me it wash after a few washes and it didnt . I went back and they said they would have to charge me to fix it. Then my friend always goes there to get threaded and they charge $7 but the last time she went they charged $10 she asked why it was raised and the woman told her the owner raised it . she said okay. when she came back the woman charged her $7 again she said "I thought they changed it to $10" the woman told her they put it back down . she found that weird and asked the girl at the counter and she said it was never changed to $10 . they spoke to the woman and she said she added tip that time . mean while she already gave her a tip. we called the owner and she didnt seem interested and said she would talk to her. she was nasty and wasnt very understanding . I would say NEVER go there !

An okay haircut for a very good price (can get a wash and cut for just $15), but the service is pretty terrible. The staff member I had (every time, actually) barely spoke any English, so he didnt ask throughout the cut if I even liked what they were doing. Then he took off the cape before asking if I was happy with it, so when I wasnt, he was annoyed that I asked him to fix something. I just always assumed you should have input in something youre paying for, and he and the staff member next to him were really condescending about it. Not an enjoyable haircut, just gave me anxiety that I wouldnt like the cut. Wont be going back ever again.

I went in there to get my roots done. My hair is brown with red highlights (from the sun). The hairdresser looked at my hair, went to mix a color, applied it, and sent me to stand for 30 mins (there were no chairs available). When it got washed, my hair had such an ugly, brassy shade of RED (my eyebrows are now darker than my hair in a very obvious way). She said it was probably from my scalp but that it would be ok but its not. It looks horrible! Ill go back to see if they can fix it but save yourself the trouble- go somewhere else!

they are Horrible, really Horrible.... they overbook their appointments, They book appointmnest for people that are not working that day or for people who left already.. STAY AWAY!!!!... They are maybe 5 dollars cheaper than other salons, but it is not worth the stress.. If you have a event especially do not go there because they make you wait and lie, they will say someone will take you in a minute, but its really like a hour you have already been waiting...

My friend had the worst possible hair experience there. (I was with her throughout the whole process) She asked for not-yellow highlights, more on the natural beige side, but they took that as to dye her hair WHITE. They completely bleached it and didnt tone it correctly, or even at all. Her hair had harsh stripes, exactly the opposite of what a girl wants. Luckily the cut was fine, but the coloring went completely wrong in every way that it couldve.

The people that run this place are crooks in my opinion. My wife went there wanting to get her hair made up. It typically costs around $25 but the guy (from Kazakhstan) insisted on charging $45 knowing that we were from out of town and urgently needed to get it done. I recommend that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY SHOULD GO HERE! I live in Ukraine and the guy that runs this place reminds me of the crooked taxi drivers that work at the train station here.
