Best place in Queens by far!!!! I have been a client for almost 15 years now. My daughter and I love this place. You cannot find better prices for the excellent service and care like what you receive by the Reaction staff My daughter and I always leave with beautiful, soft, flowing hair. I also enjoy watching all the beautiful styling thats done while Im under the dryer. Its amazing to see so many types of styling happening under one roof. Short hair, longer hair, weaves of all kinds and refreshing georgeous coloring. The staff are always friendly, they know you by name (if youre a regular) and the owner is regularly present to engage in conversation with clients about their hair. Whats great too, is there is a hair supply store two doors over with everything you need: hair and nail products. This hair supply store has lots of hair selections and a wide selection of items for keeping natural hair healthy. The conditioner selection is awesome! Reaction Salon has it all, excellent service, best prices by far, and a clean, comfortable environment. Its a classy spot. Go treat yourself. Reactions wash, set, and blowdry are the cheapest I know of in Queens, NY, so you can take care of your hair even if youre on a tight budget and I promise youll look and feel beautiful when you leave. Everyone is really sweet there.

This is an extremely late review but judging by the comments, it doesnt look like much has changed. Anyway, I took my daughter here for her very first hair salon experience on her 7th birthday 2yrs ago, hoping to make a nice experience for her. It certainly was an experience... A bad one. My daughter has very long full and very thick natural hair. She had never had it blown out or straight before so, thats what we went for (a wash and blow). I asked them to look at her hair first to make sure they could do it. I even suggested to them how they should wash & section it to make it easier to comb and blow out (since I had been the person with experience doing it). They quoted $40 for services. Long review short... they did the total opposite of what I suggested and 4 hours later being in the shop, they couldnt finish her hair because, she was crying so loudly at the pulling. I left and had to go finish her hair myself at home and they still had the nerve to ask for the $40! Topping on the birthday cake is that was my daughters first and last experience at a hair salon. She is now 9 has absolutely refused to go to a hair salon always using her first experience as an excuse. Maybe theyve gotten better but I say, dont go here if you have a lot of natural hair.

No lo recomiendo hase aproximadamente un mes fui a ese salón para que me hicieran un corte les dije el estilo que quería y me dijo ok pero como a los 4 minutos me dijo ya me recortó sólo las puntas de mi cabello no me hizo lo que yo le pedí no se si no sabía hacerlo oh que apenas se miraba lo que me corto en el piso porq no cortó nada y me cobraron $20 fue mi primera vez ai y también la última por eso les sugiero que vean bien a donde ponen su cabeza ya que algunas ni saben su trabajo y sólo están ai por ganar dinero y no por lo que saben hacer

I love this Hair Salon. It is the BEST dominican hair salon I have ever visited!! Its true that the girls didnt speak much english but the owner and the girls who do speak english were very helpful and translated for me. I was able to get my hair exactly the way I wanted it. I didnt know what products they used but they left my hair really soft. Normally I have to detangle my hair very often but after I started going there, my hair doesnt tangle like before. My breakage has also stopped. No more split ends!! The stylists are also very honest about whether i need a trim or if my hair is too dry and recommend a product. They definitely arent scissor happy and say i need a trim all the time and now my hair is very very long!! Im super happy with them!! :) <3

Ive been going to this hair salon for a while and I must say that the customer service has rapidly declined over the years. Yes, the staff has expanded but that has not made it any better; now most of the employees dont know whats going on and do poor jobs. I have natural curly hair and if it gets a little knotty they just rip it out as a quick fix. They also charge about $10 more if you have natural hair. In the end my hair is straight, but I as Im leaving I feel like Im abandoning half of my hair in the store. I know there are a limited amount of clean and semi-efficient hair salons in the area; however I suggest you all look elsewhere.

This place is literally the only one I let do my hair for the last 5 years. They can get really crowded and crazy at times but thats uunderstandable considering the price and location. Its true that they give a preference to their more loyal and frequent customers, I took a hiatus for like 6 months and they stopped treating me with the urgency I got when I would go ever 2 weeks. If you have natural hair, go to either Menorca or Elena, theyre really good and dont burn your hair, plus Menorca doesnt get scissor happy when its for a trim. Ive sinced moved to Jersey and still make that trip to to get my wash and set.

Pretty good hair salon. They have a large staff that can move customers in and out quickly. The prices are good. I was able to get a wash and set for $20 (which is the cheapest that Ive ever paid to get my hair done). I would recommend only getting your hair washed and blow dried and would not recommend any of the other services such as a mani and pedi. Overall, I had a good experience and will likely return to the Reaction Beauty Salon.

Worst hair salon in NYC for women with naturally black hair. Although they will say they do black hair, dont trust them girls. Without you knowing they will tell you theyre conditioning your hair, and the next thing you know your beautiful texture will be gone. Your hair will be straight and coming out by the handful. In addition , the stylist are not friendly at all - I dont recommend this shop to anyone!

The price for hair is good, nails are horrible ! And everytime u come here u can see the workers get upset that they have to do your hair. They complain about hiw many customers they have and how they just want to leave. Like if your so tired about having to work , then quit and live off of welfare ! I hate how much they complain if it wasnt for the customers u woukdnt be getting any money.
