We had our roof replaced by J & A Roofing’s over 6 months ago. Their free estimate was good (compared to three other roofers) and was exactly what I paid at the end. Great communication (returning calls within 12hrs even after payment). The three workers sent were experienced and had workman’s comp (laborers off the street don’t have it and usually have no experience). They were very polite, clean cut, did not swear and they took the time to answer all of our questions. They also came when scheduled and was done in a few days (not weeks). The roof was installed exactly as in the contract and after words they spent a lot of time searching for nails around the house. This is the first time someone came to work on the house and I didn’t get a nail in my tire! The roof looked excellent and the yard was just as clean as before. When hurricane Sandy came she blew a few shingles off the top ridge of the garage. I expected some hassle because the warranty clearly states not responsible for extreme winds but with no extra charges his men were there the next morning and fixed it! He truly stands behind his work. This is why I would recommend J & A Roofing to my friends. When I tell my friends about my experience they were surprised there wasn’t anything negative that I could say about someone working on my house (this is a rarity with me). So after many hours of thought I found one negativity. The hammering on the roof scared the dog.

Nate came over to give me an estimate and the price was right. I contacted him to start and sent a deposit of $1,800. The crew came about 3-4 days later to start stripping the old shingles. This is when they found more rot that anticipated in the underlying plywood and struts. Nate gave me a call and said he had to bring in a carpenter at $1,750 to repair the roof. He also said he would have to order more sheets of 3/4" plywood, which amounted to about $360. Tony the carpenter came and had to bolster the struts and lay down the new plywood. Each time the crew left, they cleaned up and very securely tarped the roof. While the job was going on we had three snow storms with wind, so the tarping was very necessary!! Once the carpentry was finished, the roofing process went very quickly. It was a good thing because once finished, we had another snow storm. I am happy to say that the roof is holding up with very well. It has been tested with snow, freezing rain and lots of wind.

I would recommend J&A Roofing to anyone looking for roof replacement . Nate stopped by my home at the appointed time and provided a written estimate the same day, Once I signed the contract and agreed upon an installation date, J &A did as they promised.They arrived promptly at 7:30 in the morning at my home with a large crew . The removed the old roof and installed a new one in less than 6 hours. All old roofing tiles were removed with no debris left behind around my house. The work was done expertly and quickly and the quality of the roofing tiles and materials was superior to what they removed. In my view, fair pricing and quality service and great follow-through make J&A Roofing one of the best in the region. I wish other contractors were like J&A.

When we first moved to Beacon, our supposedly "new" skylight leaked badly. J&A replaced it and did a beautiful job, never leaked again, and that was over 10 years ago! When we decided to replace sliding glass windows with vinyl replacements, we called them back, not only was the price reasonable compared to other estimates, but the style of window was clean, elegant and well designed. They installed them a few weeks later and we couldnt be happier! They cleaned up the mess and were very professional. The only problem is that they are so busy, its hard to get ahold of them in the spring, call them early if you want them to do a job in the summer or fall, or if you are not in a big hurry....they are worth the wait!

I do not recommend J & A Roofing. I have had a problem with my new roof for 6 years now. Even though they have tried, it still leaks. I have mold inside and they are not willing to pay to repair the damage. They claim it was not the part of the roof they replaced. We have proof that it is but they are not willing to listen. They do not return calls. They do not tell you when they are coming. They just show up. We are in the process of taking legal action. I imagine they are great as long as there is not a problem. Since they are unable to fix our problem, they are trying to end their responsibility despite having a 10 year warranty. No integrity.

Wanted to have my roof replaced by a local contractor and chose J&A. Nate came and inspected the old roof and sent me an estimate later that day. Job consisted of main roof, breezeway roof and attached garage roof. A crew of 8 arrived on the appointed day at 7 am and finished around 7:30 pm. By finished, I mean the job was complete and you would never know they had been there. First class work and workers. The crew was obviously experienced and hard working. The roof looks fantastic. Hired J&A to remove our old roof and install a new one in 2010. Best price from four different local quotes. The crew showed up early, worked all day, and completed everything in the same day. They cleaned up very well and left no trace of being here. Nate came by to check on things a couple of times throughout the day and provided friendly customer service throughout the whole process. We havent had any problems with the roof and it still looks brand new. If you choose J&A, you are making a great choice!

When having work done to your home you as the home owner are often left feeling not well served or less then satisfied by the contractor, plumber, roofer, etc. However, this is not the case with J&A. I could not be happier with my dealings with J&A; from the gentleman i received the quote from all the through the completion of the project J&A operated with professionalism and the end result was nothing but quality. The work they completed for me was great and the pricing was fantastic.

J&A Roofing installed a standing-seem, metal roof on our house 4 years ago. The price was fair and the roof looks great. Met with Nate on the day the crew removed the old roof. Hes personable and was patient and informative in answering my questions. His crew has returned twice to install snow guards and the work was once again done well. I recommend anyone looking for a new roof to consult with J&A Roofing.
