Its an okay experience--the people are very nice. Dont like the art of beauty thing each and every time, its uncomfortable for everyone. I understand its their thing, but after awhile, its kind of well, cheesy. Ive been to several upscale spas all over the U.S. and though the atmosphere is nice, I cant seem to get them to understand what I want. They seem to want to do want they want--their idea of beauty--instead of what the customer feels. Ill keep giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I believe they should be a bit more open to listening to their customers. If you do attempt to say that you dont like this or that, they make a big loud production of it, so the customer is feeling embarrassed or put on the spot. I dont think they mean to, I just think that that they dont know any better. Im pretty happy with my haircut, but I cant seem to get across to the colorists that I do not want any red tones, brassiness or warm tones....so not sure. Ive not had this problem with salons before and Im new to the area. At least their salon looks nice--thats difficult to find on Long Island.

It is overpriced. I used to go to the Bellmore location, but in January of last year they closed it. I decided not to go to long beach location because I felt that $70 for a hair cut that I would have to drive 20 minutes to was ridiculous. I ended up going to someone down the block from my house and that person messed up my hair.. I was afraid to go some place else in fear they will mess it up more. So I went back to Joseph Christophers Salon thinking that I knew that the person who did my hair would do what I wanted. Now that hair cut I got was in May of 2010. I went back to Joseph Chrisotpher in August. It is now February of 2011 and I still have the hair cut that I didnt want. Its almost of year later and the layers should be gone, but no. Why? Because at Joseph christopher they dont ask what the client wants. They tell the client what they want to do. I am a little disappointed because I trusted this girl and told her exactly why I was going back to her and she agreed that the layers should be grown out. Why would she keep cutting them?!

In full disclosure and fairness to the Joseph Christopher Salon, I was contacted by the spa manager after my poor experience and review dated 6/27/2015 below: She generously apologized and offered both a complimentary manicure and pedicure if I would give the salon another chance. I was very appreciative of this classy gesture and can now report that my complimentary services today were outstanding! 6/27/2015: Made an appointment one week in advance for manicure and pedicure. Received messages from the salon confirming my appointment. I showed up at the scheduled time and was left waiting for over one half hour before I finally left. The staff was cold and indifferent and lied to me repeatedly about how much longer I would have to wait for my appointment when I approached them. No apology was offered. Wasted my time and clearly did not care about my business, so I took my business elsewhere where actual service and courtesy is provided to clients.

Me & my husband went feb 1st* amazing 100% recommended* he got his hair cut and styled the way he likes(which is hard)* he had sharon a wonderful, porfessional, perfect hair professional he needed!! I got my hair color fixed* from a pervious hair night mare 4 weeks earlier* Nicole was my color professional** she was amazing porfessional asking me what i wanted* she was perfect with the icy bolonde on top and the bottom dark purple w red under tones* excatly what i wanted**** just perfect everything** i also got my face waxed. they are always so amazing and make it perfect till ur happy no rushing*** (we were even given complementary* choices of water ,non caff tea, and coffe* in beatiful glasses* ) worth every penny**** will be back in march** ty ladies** kudos 2 all staff***

Best salon ever. Ive been with Joseph for over 25 years. Staff turnover is not crazy, but the nice thing is that over the 25 years Ive never had a problem with moving down the line of staff after someone left. It is clean and comfortable and the staff are attentive and personable. Yes they are expensive, but if you participate in the prepayment club you get a nice discount. Hit the husband or mom up for the monthly funding, and get something you really want/need for your gift holidays, and tell them they dont need to buy anymore gifts.Check them out and you will look absolutely gorgeous.

My fiancé gets her hair cut here and she loves it. In fact Im writing this review because she said, and I quote, "Every woman needs to know about this place. They are simply wonderful. My hair has never looked so beautiful. You need to write a review for them!" If thats not a glowing review then I dont know what one looks like.

I truly love this salon. The vibe is extremely relaxing and the staff makes me feel special. Kinga is the spa manager and is very knowledgeable and professional. She gives a great facial. I love Jet and Chrisina for blowouts and Erica for massages. The manager, Sharone is also very sweet.
