If there was a minus star rating I would give it. This is the worst branch of the Post Office I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. When I had my mail either temporarily forwarded or held, this incompetent crew has lost or returned mail as deliverable and unable to forward. This has caused multiple problems for me with my health care company, who were going to cancel my health insurance, because they sent a piece of mail back to them as "no longer at this address unable to locate" when I had paid to have my mail forwarded. A second incident had me placed for collection as they returned my mail with the same unable to locate and unable to forward. Oh and this time when I had my mail held, they also returned several pieces as return to sender, not deliverable as addressed unable to forward again, yet two additional pieces of mail from the same company were delivered me at my address. I guess the carrier only had a temporary inability to locate my house. 30 days of mail is also missing from that hold period. The supervisor, when informed in person, said he would look into it and give me a call. Two weeks later I have yet to hear from him. The entire crew at this should be replaced with people who can read and follow directions.

Today I am filing a written compliant to the Post Master General regarding the service from the Mount Vernon Post office. Due to an injury I have been forced to go on Social Services. Over the past year my case has been closed three times for not responding to notices. It was hard to convince them that I hadn’t received the notices until recently when one was returned by the post office stating “Addressee no found”. After making a verbal complaint, I started getting mail in my box that wasn’t mine. Now two weeks later my case is closed again due to another notice that wasn’t received. I come from a postal family, (mother in law and sister both worked for the post office at different times and places), so I know it isn’t easy. But I feel like this; you are well paid public servants. If you don’t want to do the job that you are paid to do, then quit and let someone that will have it and get paid.

Most unprofessional Irresponsible bellegerent non productive post office ever "Post master" if thats what you wanna call it is very rude talks about himself as if he is God gift to the post office . The workers steal your packages and then claim them as delivered the claims department is a joke starring due to marked as delivered no claim can be paid , this post office never answers the phone EVEN THOUGH YOU NEED TO CALL AND MAKE APPOINTMENT FOR PASSPORTS there are always lines out the door with one or two windows open even though there are at least five the two almost always are with workers who are extremely rude and almost always have attitudes . If you can avoid this post office at all costs You will save yourself a heap of stress and actually get your postal needs done . Mount Vernon needs to seriously see whats going on and remedy peoples concerns .

If I could give them 0 stars I would! Their delivery crew claims to deliver packages, when they dont! They claim I am not home, when I am. (I am a stay at home mom with 4 kids! ) I have an elevator in my building so that is just unacceptable! They are very slow behind the counter! Very rude staff all around! One of the deliver drivers uses his own personal car to drive around and just has piles and stacks of mail in his back seat area! I have filed so many complaints with usps and they would deliver for a week and go back to the same spiel. Very frustrating. Very unprofessional! I HATE THIS OFFICE! Something has to be done about this! I will file another complaint when their customer service opens. This time its my laptop for school which started a week ago and they claim I wasnt home today and left a notice, which there isnt and I have been home all day!

Wheres the zero button? Im written multiple complaints to the postmaster general in the six years Ive lived in Mount Vernon and nothing has changed. If anything, things are getting worse. The mail I receive is for other neighboring residences, never my mail. I dont receive notices when I have packages in the Post Office requiring signature release. No on ever answers the phone and when you go in to Complaint, you are dismissed with attitude. All the workers are rude and dismissive. The person in charge and all the workers should be charged with Federal offenses for not delivering mail to the appropriate address. This negligence could allow for identify theft, etc. Its a serious issue and nothing is being done about it. Disgusting to say the least.

Im so upset. Ebay said my mail was sorted and available for pickup 8 hours ago. I go to pick up package and no one can find it. I asked the Supervisor for help and she couldnt even find my package. Had the nerve to tell me come back tomorrow and see if its here. Came the next day and was told "The person who deals with packages in P.O boxes is not here today. Come back later". ARE YOU FRICKEN SERIOUS??? Note that this is not the first time having to deal with this. This is the 5th time im arriving to pick up a package and they cant find it. SMH. Im looking to see who can i make a complaint too. City Hall maybe??? Very bad post office. Im removing my P.O box from here and getting a new one in a different city.

I cant give less than one star otherwise I would. Phones do not work or ring until it disconnects you. We shipped multiple packages to them and so far everything we ship there ends with an issue. The latest one was a hold at post office(relatively simple process one would think) but they sent it out for delivery then when it got back at the end of the day they marked it as hold time expired. Thats right less than 8 hours in their possession and it was supposedly sent back. Unfortunately it is no where to be found and tracking is unavailable now. This postal zipcode is now blacklisted by us and our affiliates. My recommendation to any business is to do the same.

Horrible customer service. They missed the delivery date even though my package was completely sorted and a whole damn day went by and the status never changed to out for delivery. Ive tried calling them and they never picked up, the phone rang for literally 3 minutes because they refuse to answer. Then I redialed right after and it went straight to busy signal. I went in person and the guy told me they dont hold onto packages and it should be out on the road but I never got anything! They never take any calls so you can never find out about your tracking status or anything. This is absolutely ridiculous. 0 zeros stars if I could.

Everything that everyone has said below is absolutely correct. How about this -- I was awaiting my passports arrival just 1 week before travelling. I saw the postman outside, so I went to greet him so I could collect my passport. The tracking said it went out for delivery so I knew he had it. When I greeted him and asked for the mail, he searched through his pile and COULDNT FIND IT. He went to another house to search their mailbox, came back and he had it. This postman is notorious for these sort of mistakes and its TERRIBLE. Passport documents are sent by certified mail and require that they are scanned upon delivery.
