Sorry for this long post, but I can not say enough positive things about Building Blocks! I was employed at Building Blocks about 14 years ago, and I can honestly say that this establishment prepared me so much for my career in teaching. So much so, that I continue to use their morning calandar routine to this day! The staff is amazing! They work together as a family. I have friends and co-workers who send their children to other centers and they all talk about such a turn-around with staff and teachers. This does not happen at Building Blocks, as the staff that I worked so closely with are still there today and they are all so amazing! They truely have a passion for what they do, and they treat your child like their own! I also have to say how clean the daycare is. Maria, the office staff, and the head teachers are so on top of things when it comes to keeping each room as clean and sanitized as possible! When it was time for my son to begin "school," there was no question about where we would send him! He is a super shy little boy and although I was comfortable with him starting Building Blocks, I was a nervous wreck! The staff(Casey) went out her way to make the transition (for both of us.. Lol) as easy as can be, and she still goes out of her way every morning for my little guy ( So does Becca and Brittany), but omg the progress that he has made in 9 months has been incredible! Tracey and Laura are just fabulous teachers and this shy little boy of mine is slowly, but surely coming out of his shell and he just loves school. It makes my days so much easier knowing that he is in such great hands! I love the monthly calandars, newsletters, projects, and the daily dish that comes home with him. He is so proud of himself at the end of the day, and as a parent, I could not ask for more! Im looking forward to him continuing with Building Blocks. I cant thank all the staff enough!

In response to the reviews posted on Google, I am sad to see that parents who may or may not have attended our daycare were so unhappy, disappointed and even angry with the care they received without ever approaching or enlightening the management. Ive been with Building Blocks Child Care Center for 26 years and Ive had the privilege of touching the lives of some 500 children over the course of my career. There has never been a time that Maria Marino, the owner/director would let a parents concern go unaddressed. Her lifes work is wrapped up in the four walls of her childcare center along with an unforgettable line of dedicated employees that hold as much value in their career as Maria. We all feel like family here, and treat the children who attend our program as if they were one of our own. If ever there was a time that any one of the employees was unprofessional or unapproachable, the situation would get addressed immediately. The childcare center is 17 years old. The up-keep of this facility keeps the staff, cleaners, painters and handyman on-call and always efficiently keeping the rooms in order. Google does a wonderful job of making every review available to the growing public. If you are looking for childcare in your area, why not give the childcare center a call. Set up an appointment to tour their facility. And then read the reviews posted. My 26 years of experience tell me that you will be pleasantly surprise at what you find inside the walls of Building Blocks as compared to what you find on Google.

Our two children attended Building Blocks over the course of 6 years, and it was a wonderful experience! We have always been made to feel incredibly welcome each time weve come through the door. The teachers and assistants in each room are loving, caring, nurturing and kind. Theyve attended to our childrens needs emotionally, physically and educationally. On a few occasions, we had personal crises…the owner and staff at Building Blocks were flexible and never hesitated to accommodate our needs in any way. Having been an educator myself for over 16 years, I have pretty high standards…and Building Blocks never failed to meet them. We never blinked an eye when leaving our children there and were confident that they were in the best possible care. My youngest child recently aged out of care at Building Blocks…it was a sad day for my children (my older child always LOVED to go back and see his old teachers) as well as us. Our children beg to stop in to say hello every time we pass by! Thank you, Building Blocks, for the wonderful memories you left with our family, making our children feel so special, and the time you spent caring for our children. We miss you!

There is no way these bad reviewers are talking about the same Building Blocks my 3 kids went to! What I usually say first when people ask me about BBC is that I always knew when I dropped my kids off for the day that they would be loved and well-cared for, even at 4 months old. Never hesitated. I literally would plop them in their teachers arms and leave without looking back! Cannot say enough about the ladies in the baby room. They go out of their way to try to keep my guy on the schedule I like. They always know how to suggest new things politely. The older teachers are AMAZING. They consider it their responsibility to teach your kid to potty train. The 4 year old teacher went out of her way to help my oldest learn early reading since she spotted her good phonics potential. She was also amazing with my middle, behaviorally challenged child. The owner is very flexible with things both administratively and with childcare. She has never failed me. They also offer a before and after school daycare when the kids are older if you are in the Newburgh school district. Oh I could go on and on!!!!

This daycare establishment is at the bottom of the list, when my daughter attended this daycare she would often come home filthy and soiled.. The staff was often clueless about how her day went.. The room often smelled like feces mixed with mold...there were many times that I would pick up my daughter and would see that everything is broken!!!!... Toys, wall fixtures, doors, ceiling, ect;.... this daycare is falling apart and unsafe for my little one. There was never a good mood about this place. The attitudes of the teachers were very unappealing to me....Ive spoken to multiple parents who have had the same experiences at this establishment. It is unfortunate because the daycare is in a convenient location.I will not be sending my second child here as I have learned my lesson the hard way... do not recommend, look elsewhere for quality child care

My family loves this place, my three year old daughter has learned so much here. The owner and the teachers are awesome! If you need to switch a day or add a day, they do whatever they can to work with you. They are so understanding to your needs. They are very compassionate with you and your child. Its really one big family, thats how you feel the moment you walk through the door. They treat your child like its one of there own. My child is so safe there, that you need a key tag to get in so no one off the street could just walk in. My daughter has been going there for three years and Im so glad that we picked this place, I couldnt ask for anything better
