I’ve been meaning to write a review for the services I received from Michelle and her staff at The Art Of Hair: First of all, my hair cut was second to none. I have had one other master stylist who met my expectations well but I’ve never had one EXCEED them. Michelle is an artist first. I truly appreciate her talent and the vision & understanding of what I wanted out of my experience and cut. So many times I have had stylists interpret what I wanted and either over cut/color my hair or simply cut it the only way they knew how. All of the staff members at the Art of Hair take it to the next level. The cut, color, experience and expertise was fabulous and I would recommend Michelle to anyone with high standards for their hair. Not to mention, who doesn’t love getting primped up & pretty and having a lunch date on the Newburgh Waterfront on the same day! Thanks Ladies!

The Art of Hair is so great! I have been a client for a while now and every time I go in I get exactly what i want! I have been growing my hair out for a while now and under the guidance of Michelle and her team of stylists I have managed to get that long supermodel/celebrity hair I could not manage to get before I started going there! I think it is the fact that aside from being talented at cutting hair, Michelle and her girls know what products and tools you need to use to keep your hair healthy and fabulous. Also, you can almost always catch a sale...especially if you are friends with The Art of hair on Facebook. They post their discounts/sales/special promotions on Facebook all the time. So if you want to look and feel like a celeb (and still get a good price!) you MUST go to the Art of Hair and become schooled in the ways of hair beauty and care!!!

Karen K. "Staying true to the name" THE aRT OF HAIR was originally formed in Cornwall NY then later moved to The Newburgh Waterfront in Newburgh NY in the spring of 2011. Since its inception in 2003 the salon has seen many visually decorative incarnations with the philosophy that it is an art salon not just a place to get your hair done. Similarly clients like myself who tend to lean toward avante garde techniques in cut and color have come to understand and respect the way in which Michelle Iorio (salon owner) runs this business. She has a unique method of teaching as well as a loyal staff who are fluent in her hair cutting and styling techniques. With its ever evolving reputation THE aRT OF HAIR remains true to the name.

My hair was dreadfully over processed and the colour had to be applied twice by a young gal there. (Not Michelle). Yes, I paid for both. Not at all worth the 300+ dollars I paid. ********UPDATE******** I received a phone call from the "The Art of HAir" yesterday. They very bluntly asked me if I was the one who wrote this review, then proceeded to ask me if I would remove it, continuously, throughout the conversation. It was awkward and extremely uncomfortable....

The Art of Hair is my favorite hair salon to date! I am quite particular of where Ive gotten cuts but this is my Go-To spot! .. Easily accessible right on the Waterfront. Ive got my haircut yesterday with Mia for the first time in this salon and it is just perfect! In general Im kind of "not easy" client, but she did an excellent job. Apart of having a great stuff the place also have a very nice interior design, different from your regular boring "all plain no character" salons, which says a lot about the owner, team, creativity and vibe. Highly recommended!

The name of this place says it all! They are artist. I wanted a big change and didnt know what to do but they were able to give me great ideas. Im very picky and I liked the fact they they were very patience. I liked this place so much that this is my 3rd time. I want to recommended this place to all of my friends.

I paid over $300 for my shirt to have bleach all down the front and the back of my black shirt. No one even told me or apologized! Theres a big spot in the back of my hair that apparently did not have dye applied because its still the original color I came in with.

Really like this place. Have had cuts from Michelle and Mia. Both are great, this my go to spot in the Hudson Valley. No more visiting NYC to get my hair cut. Clean professional and inviting. Helpful when it comes to making decisions about what you want.

Came out purplish pink instead of nice gray. Uneven cut, spotty color. Stylist very nice and talkative, listened to my wishes and than did whatever she thought is right for me. Never again.
