We had a great experience with Hudson Cabinetry Design and I highly recommend them. We recently moved to a new apartment that had barely any storage space and thanks to Doug and his team I now have two beautiful built in cabinets and a bookcase that we are enjoying fully. It was a pleasure working with Doug from the beginning. He was very thorough explaining the project, materials and process. He answered all of my questions and was extremely prompt setting up our initial meeting to get measurements, view the space and discuss the project. Once Doug had all the information, he provided detailed designs that included all of our requests. After the drawings and proposals were approved, both the design and installation process were flawless. The day of the installation, Doug and his team arrived on time both days. They were extremely professional and careful with their work and our space. At the time of the installation I had a newborn at home and the team was extremely mindful about the situation and made sure to keep all areas clean after each installation day. Not only did they keep the areas clean but were extremely careful protecting our floors and furniture. Thanks to Hudson Cabinetry Design, I now have two beautiful pieces that we fully enjoy. I would highly recommend them for any custom cabinetry design that you might have. The craftsmanship, design and service are superb. Cant wait to call them for other future projects...it was a great pleasure to work with Doug and his team!

Doug and his crew built us the most beautiful and functional kitchen I could have imagined. During the design process, Doug was extremely patient with us and accommodating when my husband and I changed our mind about our cabinet design when we were well along in the process. Our kitchen renovation was part of a complete renovation of our apartment, and because the kitchen is completely open to the rest of the apartment, it needed to fit in stylistically. We thought we knew what we wanted the cabinets to look like when we first met with Doug, and he gave us some design ideas that were perfect. Before we got to the kitchen part of our reno, however, the look of our apartment changed pretty dramatically from what wed planned and the original design for the cabinets would not really work. Doug worked with us exhaustively to figure out what would work given the new style, and he gently steered us toward a kitchen that is more beautiful than what we originally planned, and what I think I really wanted in the first place. Throughout the process, Doug always promptly responded to our questions in such a way that made it clear that he not only listened to what we said, he kind of understood any concerns we might have better than we did ourselves. I wouldnt hesitate to work with him again.

Hudson Cabinetry Design is a top-notch, professional cabinetry company that we used for several built-in projects in our new Brooklyn home. We reached out to Doug Bailor, the owner, because wed had a terrible experience with another builder. He immediately responded with a visit and then a thoughtful, reasonably-priced proposal while also suggesting some important design adjustments to our original drawings. We liked his ideas so much that we asked him to redesign two of the units. Throughout our projects (two separate installations), Doug was patient, professional and offered smart suggestions. He responded to our many questions efficiently and effectively. As for the work, its extremely high quality. We were delighted by the details and workmanship that resulted in three very beautiful projects. Its also worth mentioning that Dougs crew is amazing: They cleaned up each day of installation, cared about protecting our floors and furniture and were very pleasant to have in our home. We have enjoyed working with Doug so much that were now embarking on a third project (design, build and installation). I would recommend HCD highly!

Hudson Cabinetry Design is as good as the other reviews say it is! Doug and his team built a massive wall-unit to house thousands of books and a stereo system. The wall-unit is gorgeous and blends in seamlessly with the rest of the apartment. From start to finish, Doug has provided top-notch design advice on how he thinks the wall-unit will look best; the concern in this case was that we did not want the wall-unit to overwhelm the living room due to its size. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product as once Doug and his team installed the wall-unit, I realized that it was made to blend in with the existing crown mouldings, color and overall “look” of the apartment, but with slight variations in the depths of different shelves to avoid monotony in its design. The precision of their work is also astonishing – we checked the levelling of all the shelves when reinstalling the stereo components, and every shelf is perfectly levelled (quite an accomplishment considering that no floor is even in any apartment). Last but not least, Doug and his team were a real pleasure to work with: punctual, responsive, and even fun!

Doug built us a storage unit to replace a horribly designed, difficult to use closet, and we could not be more delighted with the outcome. Doug looked around our apartment and came to a true understanding of our aesthetic; as a result, he managed to build us a unit that perfectly blends our moderately modern aesthetic with the 1880s detail in our apartment. He also liased with our contractor to set up the demolition and finishing touches necessary to complete the project, for which we are very grateful. All quickly and within budget! (He also managed my eternally unrealistic expectations and controlling tendencies with tremendous aplomb.) Our result is a usable, sturdy millwork closet that not only holds all of our stuff (a feat in and of itself) but also brightens our bedroom - and is fully adjustable for possible future changes to its use. Thank you Doug!

Doug is simply an absolute pleasure to work with. He crafted a small built-in bookshelf for us nestled beside our fireplace. Visually, it was an unbalanced space since there was nothing on the other side of the fireplace. While my husband and I were going around in circles about painted, unpainted, what color if painted, how to accomodate, what will we do if?... The beauty about working with Doug is that in addition to superb craftmanship, responsiveness and a terrific sense of humor, he has wonderful design sense. The built-in looks like has been there all along, functioning exactly as we need it to function. There is nothing I would change. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending him, and like Chris below, wish he was a GC because I have two large projects which need to be done and would trust him implicitly to manage them.

I found Hudson Cabinetry Design when I was looking for a custom vanity as part of a bathroom renovation project. They were very helpful throughout the design process, helping me to create an incredibly functional vanity in the same amount of space as my old stock vanity. They helped me realize that I was always stooping over my old vanity, so we made the new one several inches taller. Plus, it has tons of storage - small drawers for make-up and my toothbrush and a larger drawer for towels, which is great because I dont have a linen closet nearby. The quality of the construction is outstanding, and I love the way the drawers close themselves. The lacquer finish is really durable too. It gets used every day and has yet to show any dings or scratches. I highly recommend Hudson Cabinetry and would definitely use them again.
