The Pine Plains Barber Shoppe achieves a nostalgic small town feel unmatched by any other business in Pine Plains. The interior is designed with and around the tools of the tonsorial trade from days gone by--richly stained wood flooring and counters, razor strops attached to the chairs, an enjoyably ancient cash register, and upbeat jazz in the background. Justin was in cutting hair during my first visit. There was a long line, but he stayed well past the closing time to get to everyone, made a point of knowing or getting to know his customers, and gave me the cleanest haircut Ive received from anywhere in this area.
