I would NOT recommend Glen Sanders for any special event. Unfortunatly, my wedding day happened to be a rainy day. We lost power a couple hours before my reception and it didnt come back on until 9 at night. They have generators, but they were kept in the basement and when it rains, their basement floods. The generators were not working because they were submerged in water. So they wanted to cancel my wedding, and when we wouldnt allow it, they brought in a bunch of little generators and hooked them up with extension cords all over the place. Then they had constuction lights placed on the floors, which was horrible for pictures. For the money you pay for your wedding, they should be well prepared for a rainy day. A waitress who worked there told me that theyve had to cancel weddings before because they lost power and the generators werent working. I would not risk having your wedding or any other special event at Glen Sanders. I hope this review helps another couple from having their wedding ruined.

Stayed here for a conference. Its a beautiful venue, but the hotel is not functional. I stayed in room 210 upstairs, and it had a leak in the ceiling when it was raining. When I called the front desk, they put a container to catch the water. I was offered to stay at a sister hotel, but when I found the leak, it was after 9pm. I didnt want to leave that late to change a hotel. So I stayed in another room with my co-worker since all the rooms were booked. She had double beds in her room. Her toilet did not flush, and she stayed in room 105. Both of our rooms had a musty moldy smell to them. During the conference the next day, the ladies room down in that area also had issues. As the day progressed, the toilet water had a brown yellow color to it, and there was a slight odor. The food served at the conference was mediocre. I would not recommend to stay here at all.

my husband and i celebrated our 33 wedding anniversary dinner at the glen sat night during the heavy rain,but it made the whole time there seem more enchanting. Brian [our waiter] recommended the perfect wine .the 7 hour pork was out of this world good! the salad,the dressing perfect! we even ate the entire bread basket and we are not big people. we both got the strip steak,cooked to perfection the the flavor of the sauce,terrific. we were too stuffed for dessert but we did have coffee and even that was outstanding. i will go back for every special occasion and every chance in between. i thought the price was very fair for the generous portions,excellant service wonderful atmosphere.

I attended a wedding at Glen Sanders mansion. The venue, food, staff and scenery were all amazing. It is located right on the edge of the Mohawk River where the ceremony was held. You could look out over the river and it was very peaceful. It has great outdoor seating including a patio with fireplace and cushion chairs. Inside there were several rooms you could venture to and there was plenty of space for a large party. The reception hall had interesting lighting, the walls changed colors to the music which was very neat. It was a beautiful place to have a wedding.

My family and I got a private table at the Tavolo restaurant, separate from the hotel. The staff were endearing and courteous, ready to pour more wine, and careful of our plans for Proctors after our meal. The chicken meatballs were well recommended. I had the Maine Salmon with a creamy puree, juicy red peppers and sweet corn to go with the fish, which was light enough to fit with wine and appetizers. Vanilla cheesecake topped it off with a heavy dose of cherry. Overall I say it delivers on a classy meal and atmosphere.

The food was great! They drinks were good. The staff was friendly. I do not eat cheese and the only salad option had a whole lot of cheese, I asked if out server could maybe get a salad without cheese on top, he came back right away and said the cheese is mixed in to everyones salad, but here a house house salad with no cheese. They made it special just for me! The bartenders were great- it was an open bar all night and when the line grew to over 10 people they put another bartender on. The building itself is beautiful.

I attended a wedding ceremony and reception here, then started overnight. The view over the water was beautiful and the host for the reception was welcoming and full of energy. The food was delicious, although Im not sure if the hotel did the food. The rooms themselves were clean and the beds were comfortable. The only downside I noticed were that the elevators were slow and they ran out of some breakfast items in the morning, like peanut butter and spoons.

Glen Sanders Masion is located in Schenectady, NY and sits right on the Mohawk River. Its a beautiful, old building that is very well maintained. I visit every year with my husband for his companys Holiday party. It is always a wonderful experience. The food is amazing and the staff are all friendly. They make everything look flawless. I highly recommend them for any events. You wont be disappointed!

As many times as Ive been to the Glen Sanders, the last time I was there was for a banquet and the food appeared to be provided by an outside catering company. Not sure when this started or if it was the reason for what seemed to be a lesser quality but the food was mediocre and the staff just looked bored. There was a noticeable difference, and not for the better.

Attend a bat mitzvah, working with a friend to help the DJ company. The food served was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The main ballroom where the event was held was recently redone and the did a really nice job with it. GSM is in a great location near the mohawk river. Its a nice place for holding events in the ballroom.

I have naver stayed in the hotel, but I dined in the diningroom. Yum! Yum! and Yummy! The food was amazing, the dessert even better, the only "issue" was the portions were tiny, very tiny. We had to go home and have a snack after.... The portions should match the price tag.

We held my sisters bridal shower at Glen Sanders on July 29th and things could not have been more perfect. Every meeting I had with the event planner, Maria, was fantastic and the day of the event, our banquet captain, Linda, exceeded our expectations every step of the way.

Was here for a wedding. Very beautiful. Very professional staff. The wedding coordinator seemed to be on top of everything and kept the whole night running smoothly. The cocktail hour food was very good, the entrees were delicious. One of the nicest weddings Ive been to.

Had my wedding here and it was BEYOND perfect!!! The staff were courteous and went above and beyond!! If we needed something they did not have, they would run to the store and get it!!! Maria and Frank were the BEST and I would highly recommend their venue to anyone!

We did the Sunday brunch. It was fabulous. It was hard to pick a favorite food item on the buffet. We were there celebrating a birthday and they gave us a private room. Even though we were in a private room we never felt neglected by the wait staff. Well done guys!
