So the whole reason I started coming here was due to the fact that my barber whos been cutting my hair for a few years started working here. Ive gotten my hair cut by every barber in this shop. NEVER once been dissipointed. I was living 45 mins from this place for awhile and would drive that just to get my hair cut. Thankfully now I live in town and dont have to drive so far. I honestly dont trust any other shop to touch my hair. Every time Ive walked into this shop Ive been welcomed. They play awesome music and the whole shop vibe is very welcoming. Some shops Ive been to in the area havent made me comfortable enough to go back and arent welcoming, but these guys treat you like youve been friends forever and will start up a conversation about literally anything. This is a kid friendly shop too. Every time Ive come here theres either been a kid in the shop or getting their hair cut. Great customer service and all around great barbers. This will forever be the place I come to get my hair cut. This shop is also not an appointment only shop. They have a list on a table when you walk in, you put your name down and you take a seat. They will also let you put your phone number and they call when youre next. Theres food on westcott street so you literally dont even have to wait in the shop. They have appointments you can make on the website as well. Every time Ive gotten my hair cut here, my wife literally cant keep her hands off me. If youre in the area and need a great hair cut that I promise will not disappoint, westcott barber shop is the place.

I did a hair trim with Colleen, I think this is her name. She was quick and impatient. She hardly smiled all the time, making me feel I was asking too much! I booked my appointment 20 days ahead online. I was assigned Doug to cut my hair, but when I arrived he made me wait 15 mins until he finishes with a customer he had in hand, then referred me to his colleague, Colleen! He said she was "better equipped for my hair type". I dont really know what that is! When I was done, she asked if she can take a photo of my hair! I dont know why though, since it wasnt her original haircut! I had it cut somewhere else months ago.. She just trimmed it and made a horrible job doing so in fact. Never again will I go there, I will find a better place with people who can listen and respect their appointments. Update: Thank you for your reply Doug, nevertheless you werent honest in your reply, since I had short hair ( a slightly grown pixie cut) and all I wanted to do was a trim. I didnt ask for the impossible. And btw, I cut my hair at barbershops all my life. AND there is no such thing as female cut and males cut. Its a matter of a long hair cut or a short hair cut. Men too can have long hair. A cut is a cut and a good barber can adjust to the customer needs.

No better place to get your haircut then by the professional and friendly barbers at the Westcott Barber Shop! Last July, I moved to Syracuse to attend graduate school at SU. A classmate referred me to Dougs shop and Ive been a loyal customer ever since. The atmosphere is easy-going, free wifi, and plenty of comic books to read while you wait to get your haircut. Its within walking distance from the SU campus as well! Making appointments online is fast and easy. The system even texts you 24 hours in advance so you never miss an appointment. At the same time, the online system makes it easy to reschedule. Doug even went out of his way to cut my hair a few days before an important job interview! Save yourself the stress and go here. Youll be treated great and leave looking even better!

This is a DOPE barbershop. These guys are so legit. Westcott barbershop is not some fancy, gimmicky kind of place. Its a nitty gritty barbershop where you go in, bust each others chops, and leave with a damn good haircut. They actually care about how you look and feel when you get out of the chair. You never see these guys blowing through haircuts just to get people in and out the door.. that being said, make an appointment. Youll thank me later. I, personally, am a beard guy. I first stumbled upon this shop looking for someone to trim my beard and thats it. Doug made me look like a suave Abe Lincoln AND then made my head hair look cooler than I even thought it could look. As long as I live near the Syracuse area, I wont go to another shop.

Theres a reason this place has 5 Stars. It is phenomenal. These dudes know hair. I had a rough idea of how I wanted my new hairstyle to look and Doug was able to run with the idea and I love the final results. My facial hair never had it so fancy! I had my beard trimmed down to a length that matched my new hairstyle, jazzed up with some beard oil and cleaned up with a straight razor shave. Men, you want a good haircut? Go to an actual barber shop not a run-of-the-mill generic hair salon. You want a great haircut? Go to Westcott Barber Shop. Also, do yourself a huge favor: go to the website and make an appointment ahead of time. Its a considerable wait if youre a walk-in but people still do it because these barbers are worth it.

Probably the best barbershop experience hands down. I went in twenty minutes before the shop closed expecting to get a quick, shoddy haircut and ended up getting a fantastic one that lasted about an hour, way after the shop closed, by Doug. He really has an eye for good haircuts that suit the person and makes you enjoy your experience by being able to hold a conversation, something which a lot of barbers that Ive been to really cant do. Got a great haircut at a fair price and its close to the SU campus so this is definitely THE BEST place for any student, or anyone else for that matter, to go to for a haircut, just ask for Doug. Im not from Syracuse but Ill definitely by stopping by if Im ever in the area for another haircut.

Wont let me leave another review so Ill post this: haircuts worth the wait! My last visit I had a few people in line before me. Instead of sitting and doing whatever on our phones; Doug Spangenberg threw us some movie trivia while we waited. This resulted in an Adam Sander movie marathon starting with "Jack and Jill" haha. When I was up we talked all kinda awesome stuff. TV shows you have to watch, tattoos, whatever (Ray Donovan on showtime. Great suggestion). Pretty one of a kind experience with these guys. Vinny and Doug both kill it on the daily. Do yourself a favor and check out this new local business. See if you cant get them to watch "Jack and Jill" again

The worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Ive lived in four or five cities in different parts of the U.S. and been to 30 or 40 shops. This is by far the worst. Firstly, this is an appointment only place. However, they dont advertise it that way. If you are a walk in you will be ignored. I mean completely ignored. Secondly, while waiting you will be subjected to ignorant and crude commentary on any and all subjects as the barbers debate amongst themselves acting as if patrons do not exist. No hello, no expected wait time, no acknowledgement whatsoever. They may be skilled but its not worth the anguish to find out. Just go somewhere else
