Been coming here for years. Theyre all Filipinos, many of whom barely speak English, but all of whom are very friendly and can cut hair. The prices are more than fair. I wouldnt come here for some kind of layered style, but theyre really good at standard mens haircuts. This is a military area, so they specialize in the "high and tight." My son and I come here for flattops a few times a year, and almost all of them can do a good flattop. Im not picky about my hair (my grandma always said "the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is three days"), so I always take the first available chair, and theres almost always little or no wait. If youre trying the place for the first time and care deeply about your cut, Id suggest waiting for "Penny" as a low risk option. She seems to be able to do everything and is very careful and attentive to your instructions. All the barbers finish with a nice little neck and shoulder rub.

I used to love this place but after 30 years as a customer the people have changed over the years and it just wasnt on par of the prior staff. I decided not to burden them with my business when I stopped in today to get a haircut and I didnt want to leave my 10 week old puppy in 92 degree hot car. When I challenged their no pet rule and told these newbie staff they didnt care. Many other barbershops around. You dont treat your long time return customers like that. As I told them walking out the door "have a good life.

i also have gone to kemps river barber shop for years when LARRY AND PRIMO WERE THERE BUT THEY HAVE LEFT AND NEW PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN OVER AND THERE ARE PROBLEMS RECENTLY I WENT FOR A HAIR CUT AND ASKED FOR A TRIM WHAT I GOT WAS SCALPING IT APPEARS THEY CHANGE BARBERS WEEKLY SO THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW THE PERSON CUTTING YOUR HAIR AND WHAT THEY WILL DO

I started going here in 2008. Good service for the most part. I like to just get in, get my haircut, and get out without too much talking. The only time I have ever gotten a bad haircut was when I stayed late and work and got there 30 minutes before closing. Other than that, typical old school shop, cash only - $12.00.

This guy is an excellent barber who really knows what he is doing. I tried to cut my hair and butchered it but he was able to fix! It looks so great now! This is the best hair cut Ive had and it was only $12! I am definitely making this my new barber. Note: They do not except check or credit. Cash Only!
