I gave this place a fair go. I have been there 4 times, and had 4 different barbers. Each time I got the hair-cut and beard trim, for $28 with a $7 tip (except the last time, where i tipped $4 because of my disappointment). Each time I got varying degrees of service, with varying results on the cut. I have had to fix my beard every time. One barber made the two sides completely uneven, and fixing it was only possible to an extent. This last cut, he did not even go in with the razor to fix up all the edges (as the previous 3 barbers did), so i was left with a spotty, uneven beard, with horrible looking edges. I tell the barber, my beard is curly, its hard to cut even, that is why I am in the shop. If it is something that is too difficult to handle, just say something. I would respect the professionalism in someone saying, " hey man, your beard is going to be tough, I am not sure I can do it" far more than trying and failing. I give clear instructions as to what I want, and am not getting the service I want. I am not shy, either. I mention, the hair looks no good, fix this please, trim that down, but after 4 or 5 times telling the barber what to do, it becomes uncomfortable to keep saying something, and I just accept the result. This last time I gave instruction 3 times about how I style my hair, and that I do not push it all to the side, and the barber just seemed to miss it. Now, for a couple weeks, I will be combing my hair to the side. I hate to get someone individual in trouble, but my barber seemed far more interested in watching jumanji on the television than listening to me and cutting my hair. Echoing other reviews, i have had barbers step out mid cut to order food, take a phone call, or just stare at the tv. This place has an awesome decor and feel. It is a visually intriguing shop with a retro-fresh look that is well worth a one time experience. The problem is, including tip which I could not imagine not giving to a barber, the service is no where near worth $35. I still give it three stars, because it truly is a unique haircutting experience, and the cut is solid enough. Just not worth the cash, especially when you have to go home and fix everything. Sorry Madmen, but im out.

This has been my barbershop for close to two years and its for a reason. I drive 20 minutes to this shop because the staff is great and the atmosphere is comfortable. Its unlike any barbershop on the island and you get that the second you walk through the door. Every haircut Ive gotten has been great. I actually get compliments a lot which is weird because that never happened before. Each barber is talented and takes their time which makes me feel great that theyre actually taking an interest in their work rather than rushing me out of the chair, to the register, and out the door. Theres a value of the customer and a pride in the workmanship that is rarely seen these days. If theres a wait, I definitely dont mind sitting in one of their many leather chairs and watching whats on the large flat screen. Ive been offered a cup of espresso and water every time there were other customers ahead of me. Really check this place out if you have more than 20 minutes for a haircut. Go there to relax for a bit and have your mind changed as to what a barbershop experience should be. They did it to me.

So I have been going to Mad Men for about a year and a half know. The haircuts and treatment you get is amazing. The place is super clean, it has that feel of the good old days without the 80 year old barber. All the barbers have the skills off cutting hair but i love getting a great shave as well. I have had a straight razor shave at a barber before but the guys here take the extra time. Plus no cuts They also make custom clothes. Im a big guy with big shoulders so shirts just never fit right, well Ed the owner offered to make a custom shirt and told me it doesnt cost that much. I was surprised how affordable it was plus I have had a second shirt made since then and even a jacket. Its nice to get clothes that fit right but not spend a million bucks.

Had found out about them via a client I work with. They have superior attention to detail and make you feel like you are paying for a $100 haircut when it will only run you 20 clams. All the barbers there are fantastic at their craft, as Ive actually sat with each of them. If you happen to have to wait longer than 15 minutes for a cut and shave, which is rare because they work in a timely fashion without letting you feel rushed, you can play a game of pool or pick out a cigar for the weekend. All in all, this is a tried and true Mans barbershop. Great service at a great price, and I always feel like a million bucks when I leave. And if you need to tailor a suit, or purchase a new fully tailored one, Madmen is the place to go, hands down.

Heard about Mad Men from a friend. Thought the website was cool so I checked it out. The decor and look of the place was cool. I didnt have to wait long which was good. The haircut was very good, the barber was skilled but the shave was disappointing. From the website, I thought the barbers would take their time with the shave but it felt rushed. The barber left in the middle to order lunch. Initially I had no problem but after the shave itself, the barber did not apply any aftershave or another hot towel. (That is standard practice). I left with razor burn and some minor cuts. Not relaxing as the TV as blasting. $45 for both cut and shave. I have had a better experience for less money. Will go back to my regular place next month

Ive been going to MadMen Barbershop since they opened up their doors and, ever since that first cut, I could never go anywhere else. Before I found MadMen I would spend more money to get haircuts that were never consistent and that I was never satisfied with. This establishment is very classy and has a nice vintage feel to it, they turn boys in to gentlemen. I constantly recommend this place to my friends and family and everyone always comes away with glowing reviews. I have sat with each of the barbers and I have never been disappointed with my results. The owner, along with all of the barbers, have been nothing but professional and accommodating to me as well as the other patrons. I seriously can not recommend MadMen enough.

This place was fun, couldnt have been more happier anywhere else! My friends and I were going to a wedding in Long Island and instead of going to our local barbers in CT we wanted to visit the MadMen Barbershop because one of the guys had seen pics on instagram and said we should go there and see what the hype is about. When we got in the place looked like something from a movie. Pool table, everyone dressed well and polished, there were fabrics for people that wanted to get bespoke clothing made, and we were even able to buy cigars for after the wedding! These guys were professional, funny, and made it such a pleasant experience for all 5 of us. Definitely going back the next time im in the area.
