My heat went out last night (late winter cold front and snow with lows in the teens forecast for the week) and when calling around this morning, Carolina Comfort was the only place that could fit me in their schedule, with friendly customer support over the phone. The technician Germahin called me about 15 minutes ahead of time just like they said, and was smart, knowledgeable and quite possibly the nicest person Ive ever met. My combo natural gas/AC unit is odd and old, but within minutes he diagnosed the problem as a burned out induction motor and had to go back to a supplier twice to get parts in the snow (no fault of his, mine turned out to be rusted solid when trying to replace them). Actually saved me some money by not needing to get an entire housing unit. It wasnt cheap, but given the parts were probably 70% of the job, I consider it a fair deal given the circumstances, and more importantly his professionalism and cheerfulness in such crumby weather to stick it through and get the job done so I would have heat tonight was really incredible. I will be be looking to Carolina Comfort in the future as my go to for HVAC services. Two thumbs up!

I was quite unhappy with my experience with this company. Firstly, they do not allow you to make an appointment for service, they simply give you a day and tell you they will give you 15 minutes notice of arrival. On the day I had scheduled with them I had waited until 2:30 and still not heard from them, I called and they said they did not have me on the schedule, which was disappointing since I had rearranged my entire day to be free in case they called. They were able to send somebody out that afternoon. The house was recently purchased, and it turned out there was no AC, just Ac controls. The technician was polite and professional, and said since it only took him a few minutes to figure this out, he would ask if I could have a reduced fee. I contacted the company, who said they had a management policy that if the technician makes a service call the full diagnostic fee must be charged. I have worked with individual HVAC technicians before, and have never had issues with this kind of bureaucracy. I would recommend trying an individual or a smaller company, which is what I will do the next time.

Heres the summary from a guy with a 1,000 sqft house in Black Mountain with a tight budget. Carolina Comfort did the best job out of the other 3 HVAC contractors I bid my job out to. I got a Mitsubishi mini split system installed and worked with Kris the salesman for 3 months before signing the contract to get the job done. The installers were professional and Kris was the most responsive and detailed professional I came across compared to his competitors. White and williams wouldnt return my calls and didnt take me seriously, Gentry was over priced and inflexible, Quality comfort was clueless. Kris completely helped me understand ALL of my options and the costs associated with a ductless system vs a conventional system. He worked with me on all optional equipment and priced it all out and I was a pain in his @$$ but he delivered customer service until I wrote them a check.. And after. Good people and a real value.

THE BEST! My heat pump went out last night and i called several companies around town and no one would come today ( unless they charged me for after hours even though it was 8:00 AM when i called. The lady at Carolina Comfort listened to my problem and assured me she would get someone out today. She then called me to let me know what time the tech would arrive so as not to waste my whole day waiting. upon arrival the tech introduced himself, listened to my concerns and went to work. he had my problem fixed in no time, informed me it was covered under warranty and that he would order the parts that needed replacement. All of this was done for the diagnosis price. Ive used other companies and didnt get this level of service. Ive lived in Asheville my whole life and for my money these guys are the best. Thank you Sergey, and Carolina Comfort

Had one company quote me $596 for parts and labor for my AC. After realizing that it was still under warranty, I called Carolina Comfort and they told me that the parts would be covered under the warranty and I would only have to pay for the labor. They called me back with a quote of $856 for the labor and the parts would take about 3 days to come in. So not only am I laying almost double for the job even though the parts are free, they dont even stock the parts to fix their own equipment. The lady also told me that if i had to pay for the parts it would be over $1600 for the parts and labor. EXTREMELY overpriced and do not stock the parts for their equipment, they have to order them.

We had a major issue with scheduling from the onset with Carolina Comfort Heating Cooling, Inc. This scheduling issue did in fact cause problems at our place of business. Im rating this review 5 stars because management was kind enough to communicate to us with a sound apology as well as expressing a willingness to look into the reason why this had happened. The technician was very knowledgeable and did great work. Over-all, we are appreciative of management finally addressing our concerns, and are appreciative that the technician did such great work. - Blaizing Lotus Healing House (Asheville)

This review is for James Singleton who is a tech with Carolina Comfort. I recommend him highly. He explained everything to me as he went along with the repair. He was very thorough and did an excellent job. He went out of his way to make sure things were repaired completely and double checked his work before leaving. Unfortunately the cost of parts which is not his fault are outrageous. $163 for a 1!/2" relay and $248 for a fan part. HVAC companies make a lot of money on parts. Thank you to the company though for getting a repair person there so quickly.

After disaster struck my house (literally, in the form of a 125 year old oak tree), I contacted Carolina Comfort to rebuild my entire duct system in my attic. From day-one, the entire team at Carolina Comfort was professional, knowledgeable, and dependable and, best of all, the quality of work was far better than any Ive experienced in HVAC with any other company in the WNC area. My system now works better than ever and Im even starting to see an improvement in my power bill. No doubt, this is a five-star HVAC company.

we found out our heat pump was dead in the middle of the winter after getting a $500 heat bill! i had 6 hvac companies come and give estimates. Although i didnt end up chosing Carolina Comfort, they were - extremely professional (even used the shoe covers to protect my floors!), listened to our concerns/needs, fairly priced and offered quick service! i am sure anyone who choses them will be 100% satisfied!

Called to have AC checked due to intermittent duct odor. James Singleton was the technician sent out that same day. He checked the complete HVAC system to rule out problems. He explained in detail with pics what his checks showed. He also offered some HVAC tips, greatly appreciated. I felt the technician provided a thorough and honest service. I would highly recommend Carolina Heating & Cooling.
