The spa services at Spa Koru are good. The salon services are terrible. I urge you to find another place to get a hair cut, style, wax, and nail service. The massage therapists were professional and cued to the fact that most visitors were new to spa services. The facilities and equipment were very clean, including luxurious bath robes and towels. The towels could have been longer and wider for sitting in the steam room. Youre kind of on your own, to make of the experience what you want. I discovered the relaxing garden on my own, for instance. No one is really there to help you make a time of it. This is unfortunate because it could make the service outstanding. Since so many visitors to the area are repeaters, they could certainly increase their business. The salon services are not worth your time or money. They had only one woman who did everything: hair cutting and styling, nails, waxing, etc. In this case, the young woman didnt seem to know what she was doing in any of these specialties. She pulled the wax off quickly and painfully and said, "Whoopsie." She did my nails, but they neither had a dryer nor nail dry accelerator. Also, Im used to salon spas that create a special area for manipedis, a place to relax. Im glad I didnt book a manipedi expecting to relax at a spa since that wouldnt have been possible. The pedicure area was in the hustle and bustle of the salon. I schedule a hair cut and beard trim for my husband. Apparently, they dont wash mens hair first and a beard trim means leaving all the shaggy hair past the beard line unshaved.

My husband and I are both grew up in the area, yet finding a venue that was perfect for us was still a daunting task. However, as soon as we toured the facility with a Koru Village staff member it was clear that this was the perfect spot for our wedding. The venue combines the wonderful aspects of a beach wedding (your pictures will be beautiful here) with all of the comfortable amenities that you could expect in an indoor facility. Our coordinator, Remy Biase answered dozens of emails and phone calls to ease my mind while planning my wedding long distance. The week of our event Remy and Ellisa were so helpful, looking back on the entire experience they truly made a difference in our wedding day and I cannot thank them enough!

We stayed in Koru Villa Water in May and it was even better than we expected. Its a happy medium between staying in a hotel and renting a house. Much more spacious, private and relaxing than staying in a hotel and much more convenient than having to bring your own sheets, towels and toiletries to a house. Koru manager, Kim, was very nice and helpful. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is only a 10 minute drive. Of all the restaurants we tried, Pangea Tavern was by far the nicest and cleanest. The beach was quiet and not at all crowded. If we go back to the OBX, we will definitely stay here!

The gym is about 3 years old. All the machines are new, nice treadmills, elliptical trainers & recumbent bikes. Showers & Locker room are top notch. Also has a steam room. There is also a Spa section for massages, haircuts & other stuff.

Bought a day pass twice while on vacation in OBX. I used free weights (dumbbells only) and did some floor exercises and pull-ups. Machines looked very new. A little bit more floor space would have been nice.

Just got back from a good workout. Enjoyed the equipment and getting to know the locals. Need to clean the machines but other than that it was a nice facility.
