Horrible experience all the way around! I will list all of my complaints regarding my 24 year old sons funeral (unexpected, tragic death): personal cell phones were going off, the fact that this is a "business" and "money" were mentioned numerous times, not one single employee gave us their condolences, we asked at least 4 times if our very tall son would fit in a standard casket...we were assured yes...in fact we are not sure how they ended up maneuvering him to close the lid because clearly he was too tall, we were told 3 or 4 times that we must have a police escort to cross the street to Sharon Memorial Park...in fact the hearse pulled directly out onto Monroe Rd with no police escort. We were not offered a video for the service. I had to call about this after we made the funeral arrangements and was reluctantly told that we could have this...but that we needed to get the pictures on a flash drive to them asap...and again this would be a $150 charge. We were then told that an additional $30 would be added because we brought the pics at 0830 the day prior to the funeral. The night before the service, I received a call that they would probably not be able to do the video show of pictures and music because of a problem with their system. The morning of the service I was notified that no, they were not doing the video. I frantically emailed pics to a friend of mine that made a quick Power Point. She arrived and in 30 minutes had a PPT up and running at CFCC-with no offered help from CFCC. CCFS made no effort to ensure that this was available for my son. We arrived at Carolina Funeral Services at promptly 12:15-as we were instructed. We entered the lobby and no one came to greet us, we didnt really know what the protocol was...so my daughter walks into the area where my son was and became hysterical. I went to the back where the office was and had to get a girl off a personal cell phone call in order to tell her that we had arrived. As if this wasnt bad enough, my son looked unbelievably bad...completely without color, barrel chested with a plastic plate over his chest. His head was bent forward at an odd angle because he really was too tall for the coffin. We were horrified! We had to leave the room to have the coffin closed. We had a lot of people at the visitation and we were told to "hurry it along" at 2:50. I had several people tell me later on that they were rude to them and not helpful in pointing out which grave it would be at Sharon Memorial Park. We followed the unescorted hearse over and had nowhere to park as we elected no limo just to cross the street... The service was beautiful, no thanks to CFCC. The folding of the flag for the military honors was botched multiple times...but I realize this was not their fault. The last straw after the service was walking back to the car, we found a blue bag with the Carolina Funeral logo on it, leaned up against our car with the visitation book and flower cards stuffed in it. It was in water as it was raining that day. We had an unbelievably tragic loss. To have had such a poor level of uncaring customer service on the worst day of our lives is unforgivable. I was referred to CFCC by someone that undoubtably had a better experience than we did...but I tell you not to use this funeral service unless you want greedy, callous, uncaring people that have no business working with people in this profession. I dearly wish that we had used McEwen Services. Thank you, Kim Frazier

I went to Carolina Funeral & Cremation Center for my mother. Most of my family uses them. They have been excellent every time weve used them, and they have always been very caring and helpful to us. They went way beyond their means to help me with my mothers insurance and make sure everything went accordingly. Everyone from CFCC were just absolutely so helpful and caring.

Steve, the owner, is a first class example of what folks in this business should be doing to take care of families in most challenging circumstances. He is straightforward, doesnt upsell or pressure and will tell you what is possible (or not) as you care for your loved one.
