In January when my fathers doctors said I should get funeral plans in place, I had no clue where to start. I had only been to one funeral when I was a child, and I had no idea what the process was. The chaplain at the hospital in Lincolnton, NC gave me a brochure for T.H Robertson Funeral Home and said that they are very affordable. I contacted Gary and explained my familys financial situation to him. He was very sweet, but clearly explained to me what my options were due to finances. My dad did not want to be buried at the Veterans Cemetery, but it was our only option other than cremation. I felt guilty for planning to have my dad buried somewhere he didnt approve of, but Gary comforted me and reassured my father would prefer it over cremation. He also explained to me that a funeral is more for the family than the deceased, and that my dad wouldnt want to leave us with a financial burden. During my planning with Gary, my sister planned with another funeral home to have him buried elsewhere. She told me that we would be able to afford it, and to cancel my plans with Gary. I called Gary, telling him what happened, but also letting him know that I didnt think that the funeral home my sister planned with explain to her all the additional costs like a stone, digging, the vault, etc. Gary said he would keep our information on file. My sister did eventually realize that her plans were too expensive and told me to call Gary back. I did that morning, and later that afternoon my dad passed. Even on such short notice things went smoothly since Gary kept all of our information. And overall I was very happy with the viewing at the Veterans chapel and the graveside service with the preacher that Gary recommended. Gary even cut costs where he could with the embalming. Throughout the process Gary listened to me fuss about my siblings, cry about my dad, worry about finances, and everything in between. Working with Gary made losing my father a little less stressful because I knew that the funeral planning was in good hands.

In March 2016, I utilized Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service for the passing of my wife Jennifer following a long 15 year battle with breast cancer. Obviously there are a ton of emotions during this time, and you want to honor and remember your loved one well. There are so many decisions to make, and they are rapid fire over a short period of time. Working primarily with Gary and Elaina for all of the preparations, they did a fantastic job walking me through all of the decisions and preparing my wife for the viewing. All of our requests were given due consideration, and they allowed a second private viewing for our teenage son who was uncertain about seeing his mother laid to rest. The facilities are fantastic, and they have a large parking lot capable of accommodating a large group of people which was the case for us as we are relatively young and with a large network of family and friends. Gary coordinated everything with the cemetery seamlessly, and following the memorial service followed up with all of the necessary administrative matters timely. Elaina did a great job coordinating events the day of the service and you could tell she was well prepared. All of these services were reasonably priced as well, and they lived up to all their commitments. Using Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service was a great decision for me, and gave me the time to focus on many other important matters during a difficult time.

Having worked with a couple different funeral service companies in multiple states for close family members, I can say with authority that T.H. Robertson is the best. Not all funeral service companies are equal, and during a difficult, emotional time, it really does make a big difference when you have someone knowledgeable helping you make arrangements. The things that differentiate T.H. Robertson from my experience are: 1. Transparent, reasonable pricing: you know what to expect because prices are on their website and are very competitive 2. Service: everyone we worked with went out of their way to be helpful, often going above and beyond to help us with a complicated situation (we had to cremate in NC but arrange a service in NY, travel with the remains, etc.), and there was a single point of contact through the whole process 3. Experience: you immediately feel comfortable because you can tell these folks have been doing this a long time. Nothing is forgotten, left to chance, or new for them. We worked with Gary Wilking who was phenomenal, but I feel comfortable recommending anyone at T.H. Robertson.

As my parents declined in a nursing home, I approached their church about purchasing a columbarium niche and prepaying the cremation expenses. For the cremation part, they referred me to Terry Robertson. Terry made the process very easy to understand and plan for.. My father passed one year later, and my mother just passed, 3 years after my father. I cant say enough great things about working with this company. They pick up the body very promptly after being called, via arrangements with several different crematoriums around the Charlotte area. I asked them to handle everything that the church didnt take care of, and they did. They got the flowers I requested and submitted the obituaries to the local and out-of-state newspapers for publication on the desired dates. They coordinated with the church so that the process was as stress-free for me as it could be. Terry Robertson, Gary Wilking, and the staff are very nice, honest and fair people. I would happily refer them to anyone facing end of life arrangements.

This company was founded by Terry Robertson who spent many years working for a large conglomerate and saw the need for a service that would cater to what people specifically needed without the overhead that can run the costs way up and saddle you with debt youd spend years repaying. Gary Wilking was so helpful to me, trying to understand the limited budget we had to work with, and delivered with flying colors! He was able to cut costs in filing the obituary notices and secure a burial across state lines at minimal expense, even going so far as bartering with a family-owned funeral home in the other state to oversee the burial at no cost! He even got us a vault at 25% less than what the cemetery wanted. Like clockwork, every piece fell into place. This is especially important when you have so little time to coordinate these kinds of events. He came to our home with all the paperwork, which was so convenient for us, taking the stress out of it. I highly recommend this service.

Our family highly recommends Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service. Terry Robertson and his staff were both empathetic and professional. After we lost our Mom, Terry returned my fathers initial phone call almost immediately and provided factual information in a concise manner. He came to our home which made all the difference in the world when discussing his services and took an interest in both my Mom and our family. They also did a beautiful job on the programs for my Moms service, and Stephanie from his team delivered them to our home. Lastly, their pricing was very reasonable. In summary, they made the most difficult time for our family less stressful and personal to us.
