When we first moved to Elizabeth City, we were used to attending a very upscale gym in DC. For a long time we worried about not finding a place to go, and finally took the plunge on the Y and we were not disappointed. Most of the equipment is new, the facilities are clean and the staff is very friendly. There are lots of brand new treadmills with iPod docks, free-weights, olympic-size pool—you name it. Possibly best of all they offer on-site child care with your membership, and the staff in the nursery are very trustworthy and well-trained. If you get a Y membership, you also get access to lots of other locations in addition to your "home" location; this means I can go to other Ys when Im out of town. Its much easier than finding hotels with decent gyms. Highly recommended.

Love the Y! Hubby and I can workout together and kids have a great time playing with other kiddos. Staff is great too. Cool family events. Highly recommend this place! :)
