My son has attended Kids Town Learning Center for the past year in Room 4 (2 year olds). KTLC continues to exceed our expectations. His teachers, Genesis and Abrey create a loving and nurturing environment that allows my son to feel safe and have fun. They are incredibly patient and are always trying new and creative activities with the children to help engage them in learning. When looking for care for my son, our top priority was finding a safe and loving environment but I was quite impressed with the curriculum and the growth my son has made academically and emotionally this past year. Communication between teachers and parents is top notch. I receive a daily sheet that informs me about my son’s day. It goes over what he ate for the day, how long he slept, and his potty times. They also include a little note about something fun he did for the day. There is a daily communication folder that allows me to pick up any notes from the teachers or art work done. I credit Genesis and Abrey for fully potty training my 2.5 year old 1 month before our newborn was born. While a loving and safe environment was my top priority for my son, I have been quite impressed with the curriculum and the amount my son has learned. Genesis and Abrey read constantly to the class and help to instill a love of learning and reading with these little ones. My son can identify all his letters, numbers, shapes and colors. The structure and routine really helps learning take place! We could not be more pleased with KTLC and we are sad to leave as we are moving. His next school has some big shoes to fill. Thank you to all the staff for working so hard to create the loving and nurturing environment that KTLC is.

My daughter has been at KTLC since she was 12wks old. Next month she will turn 3. I cant say enough good things about this place. I have referred friends and their children as well as those looking for employment in this field to Kids Town. The place makes you feel welcome and safe. You know that your child is not only well cared for, but they are learning and loved! As a working mother, its important for me to know that my child is in good hands. She is happy and loves going to school everyday. The communication with the parents is excellent and I love the facebook updates with photos etc. My daughter has also had the opportunity to grow with the other students as they have been there as long as she has, so the retention is great. They understand us crazy parents and are respectful of requests etc. The programs they offer that are outsourced for field trips etc are by far the best I have ever seen. The school itself is VERY clean and well maintained, but the staff is amazing. I love it. My husband and I consider them family :)

My daughter has attended KTLC since she was 18 months old. She has been there for 4+years and we have loved our experience. I like the age appropriate curriculum and the focus on learning in all of the classrooms. The curriculum has given me an outline for review at home. Im always impressed with what my daughter is learning. The teachers are all great and have provided a kind and encouraging atmosphere for the children. My daughter has had very few bad days, if ever. KTLC makes safety and communication a priority. I appreciate both, and have always felt like my concerns have been quickly addressed by the teachers and/or Patti and Becky when required. I feel confident in the care, education and safety provided by all the staff. A special thanks to the pre-K teachers, Miss Erin, Miss Dani, and Miss Meghan. We have decided to stay for kindergarten and are looking forward to another great year.

Both of my children attend school there, and I continually recommend it to any new parents seeking childcare. Ive done a great deal of research on other schools in the area, and I know that KidsTown is either comparable or far exceeds other schools. The Director and the teachers truly care about the children and strive to give them educational experiences in an environment that makes learning fun and spontaneous. My childs only complaint: she has to take a nap and eat vegetables. LOL. That is okay with me! Parents do need to do their part to get involved with the school and their childs teacher to make sure their child is getting the most out of their experience there. While I wont say we havent had our bumps in the road over the last 4 1/2 years, I will say that the school has always worked with me to give my child the best foundation and experience.

I cant say enough about Kids Town Learning Center. My grandson Jacob started at KTLC when they first opened its doors.....Jacob is now 10 years (in September) & going into the 5th grade. Jacob was at KTLC for 3 years and it was a wonderful experience for me & Jacob. The staff is great & the late Ronnie Brown was a person that Jacob looked up to and Ronnie helped Jacob alot. Jacob misses Mr. Ronnie. My grandson Aydan is currently attending KTLC and it was a great choice to switch Aydan from another child care facility to KTLC. My grandkids and I really would like to say that KTLC is the best in Virginia Beach. It is a loving, caring and a safe place for my grandkids. I have custody of both of the boys and I feel very comfortable with the care they receive and have received at KTLC. Five stars for KTLC!!!!!! Cathi Pulley

We recently moved out of state and the hardest thing to say goodbye to was KTLC! The teachers, kids, and staff at KTLC were so loving and kind to my son. The facilities are fantastic. When it rained they would walk me to and from my car with an umbrella...just the nicest people in the world! Now that Im out of state trying to find similar care elsewhere I can really appreciate the amazing child care that they gave my son. We built a great bond with his classroom teachers and still keep in touch with them now. The only issue we had there was with a child in my sons classroom being a "biter", of course this is scary for any parent...but they handled it very well. They have a specific policy and stick to it. I apprecaited their ability to communicate with parents about the good, bad, and the ugly! We miss you KTLC!

What the previous lady wrote about the director only being money hungry is quite accurate. My friend constantly has to sit down because not only do they recieve half her money from the government but she pays on the first of every month. Her son ended up having over $600 on the books one month and the next month nothing. The director always points out how a mistake was made. You right the mistake was this school. Playing with someones hard earned money is a no no. Get a better financial rep in that case. As far as the kids learning thats another story instead of working with them the directors goal is to hold them back until they get it. If I could rate it 0 stars I would. Give your money to someone who cares the staff are pretty ok but the director Patty isnt quite caring more like money hungry.
