My 1st appointment here was the worst salon experience of my life! I went in for a layered cut and balayage/ombre highlights. I was well aware that I wasnt going to get the vibrant blonde like the picture I showed the stylist as I have naturally black hair and also dyed to cover greys, however Ive had my hair bleached many times in the past so I knew a caramel color was realistic. I had a bad feeling from the beginning. The stylist slapped the dark dye (which I think may have been just a color deposit because of the amount of grey hair that is currently showing) all over the top of my head - and I do mean all over. I left the salon with parts of forehead stained. Then when she was applying the bleach, she would put my hair on the blending board and roughly scrap over my hair to see where she missed spots (I didnt think this was a good idea since my hair had bleach on it and already in a delicate state- the amount of damage I now have shows I was probably right). She mentioned the color of my hair wasnt lifting so I told her that at other salons they would throw me under the dryer for a minute to get my hair to lift to a light blonde. She put my hair in a cap and took a hand held bower dryer and put heat on it that way and then put a towel over that to keep in the heat. AFTER that she told she couldnt leave it that way long because they arent supposed to use heat with their products and didnt want to get in trouble with her manager. Then she rinsed. She didnt even do this correctly! She left hair dye from my forehead (which again she stained) to about 2 inches back from my hair line. She then cut my hair and blew it dry. I couldnt believe what I was seeing for the few seconds I got to look in the mirror (she kept my chair turned to the side away from the mirror the entire time). I had a short bob that looked like a childs 1st haircut and my hair was nowhere near the color it should have been. You could barely even tell it had been bleached. Around this time the manger walked by and I assume saw the look on my face and asked the stylist what was she going to bleach my hair again or what was her plan to fix it. The stylist agreed to bleach my hair again and the manager left to get something to eat. The stylist would literally look at my hair and walk right back into some back room without saying one word to me. She rinsed it again and still left the 2 inch strip of dark dye around the front of head. She then cut my hair even shorter without asking me or letting me know she was about to do it!!! By this time I was about ready to cry! The manager came back in and took over and ended up giving me at least a decent haircut. When I was discussing with the manager what I didnt like the stylist had the nerve to say "well at least the blend is good" as though that made everything ok. I also still have very blond circular patches of hair around each temple that looks ridiculous when I pull my hair in a up do. I go back to get my eyelashes done. This was the 1st time I had ever had eyelash extensions and was so excited! They were ok to say the least. I made it clear from the beginning I wanted them as thick, full, and long as possible. They were very thin and natural looking. They didnt look bad, just not what I was paying for. The lady that applied my eyelashes said the next time she could get them thicker. So I left the 1st visit 8 hours later, having spent close to $400 not one thing was what I came in for. So I went back in 2 weeks and got a fill in on my eyelashes and a face wax. Still have a large patch on the left side of my face where I still have "peach fuzz" and over half my eyelashes fell out the same night (not to mention there were more than 5 eyelashes who were flipped the wrong way or going completely sideways or stuck to my eyelid nowhere close to my lash line) and didnt have any lashes on either outer corner and no lashes on the inner corner of just one eye. I did go back and have them refilled the next day for free but most fell out right away again so I was out another $100. Never going back here!

I brought my boyfriend here to get his haircut by Jenna and he has never been happier with his hair! He felt like someone was finally able to "get it" when it came to what he wanted. Hes got a lot of hair and Jenna took the time to really study how his hair grew and the thickness before cutting it so it would lay right. Shes super caught up on all of the current trends so she was finally able to cut his hair how he has wanted it for years! She showed him how to make the same look at home too and he finally stopped wearing a hat every day. I have gotten hair extensions here for a few years now and I couldnt imagine getting them anywhere else. No one believes me when I tell them I have extensions, it looks that natural! Janelle does the best job educating and explaining the whole process and maintenance that I feel confident having them. Very educated stylists, great team!

I went in after FRYING my hair and Briteny took me under her wing and revived my hair. I am SOOOOO happy with my experience and would recommend her and the entire team who are soooo wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you (I also forgot to tip Britney, so will have to make that up when I go for my next appointment...feel bad because she did GREAT!!!!!)

Janelle and her team at West 13th Salon are the best around! Janelle is incredibly talented and definitely a leader in her industry! Not only does she have skill, but she is so personable and easy to relate to. I drive an hour 1-way for my appointments with Janelle, and its worth every mile! Give them a call if you havent already!

Lauren is super awesome at what she does. I always get compliments on my hair after she cuts it. I call her my hairapist (hair therapist) because tells me what I can do for my hair and she is super personal and you are able to share all your deep secrets with her and it will stay secret :) I only allow her to touch my hair.

I have never had a bad experience with Janelle and her team. The services are the highest quality, and the price is extremely reasonable for their talent level and services performed! I have gotten everything from my nails to extensions done and I have only ever left the salon feeling amazing. Would recommend to anyone.

Hannah was very nice and kind to me, I went in for a layered cut and balayage, she did an amazing job. The experiance felt like if I was in a spa, she defenitly goes the extra mile to make her costumers very confortable and relax. The hair salon staff was very friendly.
