I LOVE Swensons food, but the service at this location is horrible. This last time was the worst, though. They were busy, so we knew wed have to wait. We were parked in a farther space from the building, backed in facing the building with our lights on. Over the next 25 minutes we waited patiently as people came and went-nobody came to take our order or anything, but they continuously took the orders of people pulling in 10, 15, 20 minutes after us. Finally someone came near enough for me to call them over and explain that after nearly 30 minutes we hadnt had our order taken, even though nearly everyone who had arrived after us had their orders taken. The employee told me he was sorry and that, at the moment, he was trying to figure something out and had been having a bad day. He said hed be right back to take our order. Another 15 minutes went by and nobody came back to our car, the guy who had said hed come back went on to take the orders of three other people who had arrived within the past 10 minutes. We ended up leaving and going to the location on Hawkins, which was equally as busy-once there we had our food and were leaving within 10 minutes. We sat for over 30 at the north hill location without anyone ever coming to take our order.

This place is awesome man. Their burgers are so good that when I have friends and family in from out of town and they ask me about a good place to eat, I dont send them to a fancy restaurant or steak house, I send em to a freakin fast food restaurant!! Their burgers are perfect, and theres something about them that sets them apart from every other burger youve ever had. A lot of ppl will tell you a Galley Boy is the way to go, but I myself have been getting the same thing there since I was a kid, and I dont see that changing anytime soon. Double cheeseburger with everything (sometimes 2, and "everything" at Swensons is mustard pickle onion. IMO, perfect!) onion rings or potato teasers (and sometimes both!) and a Florida (which is a homemade orange flavored soda. They also have one called a California, which is grape). They also have real, homemade milk shakes.

I do not want no what was wrong with your service today but it was not good it seem to take the guys longer to get to the cars today in Normal Ive never had such bad service hamburger was not good it was dried out and ask for extra mayonnaise then they want to charge me for extra mayonnaise which was barely any mayonnaise on the sandwich I was thoroughly disgusted in the service and then they wanted to charge me more money and just an overall experience was very poor I had been there and some time and when I go there its for an experience that I love to experience and Swensons this time was not a good experience I was very disappointed very disappointed in the service I thought it was very poor I never experienced this and Swensons before its sad to see it going downhill like an hands I hope this is not an experience I experience again Im very sad to see this

Ordered onion rings and rootbeer float then waited 40 minutes. They then brought out a rootbeer shake, not a float, And said they burned our onion rings. We said that we actually enjoyed the shake better even though it wasnt what we ordered. They then took the shake from us and threw it away. 10 minutes later they brought out our float and onion rings and were rude the entire time. Not sure why they wouldnt let us keep the shake even though it was cheaper. I felt like after waiting almost an hour for an order of onion rings, maybe we deserved to be able to keep something they planned on throwing away.

I worked here in college. I loved the atmosphere and I loved the cleanliness of the kitchen. So, in turn, I still eat here. Now, it has become a treat because I live in Sandusky. The food is great! Their burgers have a wonderful sweetness to it. I always get the potato tweezers as a side. Want a custom milkshake? You can have it here. Chili and grilled cheese/tomato soup in the winter to keep you warm. Also, theyve added a few vegetarian options, which is fantastic for me. We have come across the food truck at catered events. It is just as fantastic as the brick and mortar stores.

The prized meat is made 100 feet away - behind lock and key!!! This and Hawkins Ave are the BEST in the chain.. This one still hasnt had much of an update - and is still AWESOME. If you are near and have never - GO HERE. Plain double or triple cheese plain... Sweet and savory burger, Velveeta cheese - toasted Hawaiian bun - just darn good. If you are from Akron - you know this place (or your not from here). If you are from out of town... Swensons, Barberton Chicken (in Barberton), SkyWay, and several others. Junk food from the heartland. You will remember it.

This place is crazy fast and the food is incredible. I have no idea how its possible for a grilled cheese to be so delicious, the cheese is so gooey and theyre so cheap! I would honestly rather eat these over Lockview or Melt. Jalapeño Poppers here are the perfect side. They have so many delicious shakes and even unique soda options like The California. For dessert you have to try their brownie sundae. And theres just something about being served and eating in your car that I love.

It was the service. The food was great. We were checking our order to make sure that it was correct and the young man asked us twice to pay immediately. I felt that he lacked customer service skills. I really dont like this location because of the poor service. He walked off as to say he was done with us. We had to wait about 10 minutes to pay because he just walked away. He saw it us waiting to pay and ignored us. All because we wanted to check our order before we paid for it.

Everytime I come to Akron, I have to make a trip to Swensons. Ive had a double cheeseburger, fried mushrooms or dried zuchinni along with a California beverage since I was a kid and Im now in my mid 40s. My kids love the place and particularly like them bringing the food on the tray and hooking to your car window. A delicious and recommended hometown staple. If your visiting Northeast Ohio, this is one burger dive you should visit and experience. Delicious!!!!

Did not quite meet the hype. I had several people tell me how wonderful the burgers are here, plus I had read many of the below reviews, before trying it for myself. I got a Galley Boy and the special sauces tasted much like mayo with a twist. The burger was a little too pink for my liking. The positives are: The price overall is great. The O-rings were excellent. The servers were quick and friendly. The shakes are pretty good.

This is the spot to get a burger in Ohio. No place can even come close. The car side service and tasty food harks to the 1950s way of making and serving great burgers. Get the Galley Boy & a Peanut Butter & Hot Fudge Shake. You wont be disappointed! They have 7 locations throughout NE Ohio so youre never too far from a tasty galley boy and potato puffs. The car side servers always run to your car and are very friendly.
