I spoke to the operations manager (Jordan) today about cancelling my membership because LA Fitness has NOT been a safe place to workout in during the last 4 months. There are 3 incidents that I brought up, and I think anyone that is looking into getting a membership here should also consider. 1. The weight benches are too close together, increasing the likelihood of injury from another member throwing a weight. There was an incident last month where a 80 lb dumbbell almost hit my leg when another person threw it after finishing a set. 2. Members leave 45 lb plates leaning against machines or walls. These plates can be knocked over, landing on my foot causing injury. This happened to a patient of mine at another gym a month ago, breaking her foot. The solution that I suggested was installing more weight racks so that members were more likely to stack weights in a safe manner. 3. Frequently the trainers will leave the barbells standing on end. These are typically the 40-60 lb barbells that when standing on end, can easily be knocked over causing them to land on someones foot. Jordan did say that he would make efforts to improve on some of things, but he would not give me a refund on the remainder of a membership. Because LA Fitness is not a safe place to work out currently, I will have to just eat the cost of not working out there because the company is not willing to give me a refund. I am willing to pay for the months that I did use but Im very disappointed that I will be charged for the remainder of the months that I will not use because I am concerned for my safety.
Ive been here for a few weeks and am regretting signing up. The equipment is always dirty, people dont respect each other and dont clean up after themselves. I hopped on the stair master the other day and placed my hands on the heart rate monitor and felt the sweat, moisture, and residue still on it from whoever used it last. I was so grossed out by that experience I got off and went to clean off the equipment and my hands as well. THEY RAN OUT OF PAPER TOWELS, HAND SANITIZER AND SANITATION LIQUID. I cant blame my facility on the people right? Well theres always the problem with a majority of the exercise machines needing maintenance. Which can be very frustrating especially during peak hours where equipment is limited. The water fountains are also always being serviced and the one in the mens room doesnt even work, even from when I first started. I admit, the front desk attendants are very kind and customer service is decent. But the WORST part of the facility is the maintenance/custodial staff. I was in the locker room at 6AM and it was completely filthy. The place seems to never have paper towels and always run out of sanitation stuff. This place needs a better cleaning staff, and also a christening.
It is pretty small gym. You can see everything and everyone here. No privacy at all. Especially at the swimming pool, where everyone who walks in can see you, trough the wall sized, clear glass, and I do not like it at all. Sauna is inside of the locker rooms, its separate for men and women. Building is completely new, and they have the newest equipment. Personal trainer is available, the prices might vary, but from what I know it is $200 for 4 personal sessions a months. I dont know the piece for a membership, they did not know it, "morning shift is familiar with that information" - they told me. Guesst fee is average - $15 a day. If you llike Planet Fitnes atmosfere plus swimming pool than this place is for you. No tanning or massage is offered.
Horrible customer service Aaron "runs" the gym and is possible the worse person Ive ever spoke to in customer service. Very rude La fitness over charged my account i have a voicemail stating that they did and that i would get credited back the amount . I was still charged and he will not credit me back for money that was not suppose to be taken . I called member services and they said nothing can we done. Basically stealing money from me. By far the worst people ive ever dealt with so if you want your money stolen and extra charges go to this gym! 4 months ago there was jordan and debbie who told me this and now aaron says he doesnt know these people really great !
This gym.... scheduling is difficult, which is OK. When I signed up, I had a cancellation out. I took it. Fortunately for me, I blocked them from being able to touch my money at that point. A month and a half, 19 phone calls and countless emails later, Im still getting harassed for payments because this gyms incompetence apparently hasnt gotten the cancellation through even AFTER I jumped through their hoops. As a gym itself, its OK. Do not do physical training.
I travel for work, and have been to every LA Fitness in Ohio. For as new as this facility is, it seems poorly managed. Why? -Mens bathrooms are disgusting, resemble a gas station - basketball courts are dusty - not swept -not friendly staff -horrible hours *it is quite ridiculous that the gym opens at 8AM on the weekends! People have things to do, this isnt a bank
The amount of time to fix broken or supposedly recalled equipment is absolutely ridiculous.... The Jacuzzi is either cold with the bubbles working or hot without the bubbles working.. The mens locker room is absolutely disgraceful,I have never seen anyone putting a mop to the floor, The filth is encrusted in the grout... and the lockers are Leyden with pubic hairs...
I just signed up today. Its my first time going to a gym. I thought it was great! There were so many options to choose from to work out. I loved the road bike simulator. I have a road bike so it will really help when I cant ride outside. Yoga and spin classes are included in the monthly price so its really worth it. It was very clean inside as well.
I called and a dude answered the phone named Jesse. I asked about the basketball schedule and he said that I can read the hours online and that its not his job to read me the schedule. He threatened me after I tried to explain to him that I just wanted some help by saying that there would be "trouble" if I came to the facility. I went anyways.
Writing emails to HQ and complaining to the managers in this facility works. The rudeness was taken care of and I decided to continue with the membership here. The whirlpool was fixed after over 2 weeks. Still the cleanliness of the equipment, lockers and locker room still need work. Which is why I left this at 3 stars.
I went with a friend and used a guess pass, the managers harassed us for another friend showing us what to do in the gym. Right before the manager left for lunch he shut the lights out on us because he didnt want him showing us what to do. They wanted us to pay a trainer. Terrible I wont join them thats for sure.
Would give it zero if I could! I seldom lift weights because of back problems. I swim and use the hot tub but for some odd reason the hot tub is ALWAYS BROKEN! Then they wait a week to place a work order for it. Smh! Will be calling corporate at 9 since they also told me they dont have the corporate phone number
